ick up, Amanda was absolutely incredible. She tailored my shower dress, rehearsal dress, and my wedding gown. We did three fittings overall. I could not believe her ability to completely transform each dress, making them all perfect for me. Amanda is extremely knowledgeable and gave me advice with my wedding dress to ensure it would be comfortable and fit the best it could. Her prices were reasonable and well worth the work that she put into all my dresses. She just moved to a new location, and while I didn’t get to see it in person before my final pick-up, it looks INCREDIBLE in pictures! I will absolutely use Iron Horse again in the future and would recommend Amanda to any bride!

ruining the whole design on the dress and making it not suit my body type which is straight as it is. Wish she looked at pictures of how this dress was supposed to fit instead of redesigning it completely. It was irreversible to restore it to original condition she said. The shop is very small so impossible to really inspect the dress so when I got it home I found a hole in the fabric and immediately called and emailed her kindly for weeks and she would not return my call. Had to go somewhere else the day before my wedding. For 900 bucks I would expect more than a chop shop and shady service

Amanda clearly has extensive professional training, something most of her competitors seem to lack. My wife’s dress turned out perfectly, even better than we dared to hope. Amanda also did the alterations on my tuxedo and for my best man. She also altered the dress my mom wore to the wedding. Every bit of the work was superb. Amanda is friendly and classy and her prices and timelines are surprisingly fair. I really can’t recommend her more wholeheartedly. For what it’s worth I think it would be a terrible mistake to go anywhere else.

The bustles she added were incredible! The way she fit the bust line of the dress was unbelievable. In a dress that could make for discomfort or pulling/tugging, Amanda made it fit like a glove. I was able to dance and move throughout my pictures knowing that she had me tucked in to perfection! Amanda was able to make the dress of my dreams a reality for my wedding night. Amanda took on this task with a ton of patience and grace, never offering unsolicited advice, but jumping in with her expertise whenever I asked for it. I greatly appreciated her tact and professionalism, and the freedom she gave me to envision my wedding gown over the course of several weeks. In addition to Amanda's professional and sophisticated demeanor, Amanda has unparalleled sewing skills. She sewed buttons down the entire train of my dress and completely replaced the skirt, to name just a couple of the big alterations she did. Amanda assured me that we would work out the kinks. She made alterations on the bodice length, cup size and even created a beautiful and flowing high to low hem that I fitted out with a light-up LED petticoat! She got my dress done in less than a month and at a very reasonable price. The dress was one of my favorite parts of the wedding. Amanda did a fabulous job and I hope to have the opportunity to work with her again.

it did not fit or flatter me at all - I was very uncomfortable. She started fixing everything IMMEDIATELY, and I was incredibly relieved. Every fitting just got better and better. The length was perfect, the bustle on my train was perfect, and the fit was INCREDIBLE. Even up until the last fitting, she continued to make the tiniest, detailed adjustments to make sure I felt completely confident. I am eternally grateful for her magical workings, because I felt so secure in my dress throughout all of the standing, sitting, walking, and most importantly, the dancing of that day. She is so incredibly knowledgeable, and a perfectionist in the best way possible. As for my rehearsal dress, she took my mom’s long-sleeved wedding gown from 1981 (which was already gorgeous) and made it into a short, sleeveless beauty that fit my style perfectly. She did an absolutely breathtaking job keeping the lace and delicate appliques in-tact, all while enabling me to fit into something that was at least 3 sizes too small originally! I will say it again: Amanda is a miracle worker, and just a joy to be around – she is so kind, patient, and incredibly talented. I will definitely go back to her if I ever have any other alteration needs. She is a gem!

I never felt like I was being pushed into anybody’s idea of what a bride is supposed to look like. The patterning & tailoring were all spot on. She only uses top quality fabrics, so my dress was unbelievably comfortable and enjoyable to wear. Oh – AND! – she also did it all at a better price than anything I saw in the salons. The custom-dressmaking process is totally nerve-wracking, because you’re making decisions without having something to try on, and a lot of the dress remains unfinished until the last weeks. But I had done my research ahead of time, and Amanda’s process was consistent with what I had learned to expect. Above and beyond that, Amanda is warm, funny, and a joy to work with.
