Located in Saint Petersburg, FL, The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art is a museum and wedding venue. The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art was created in order to celebrate cultural and historical depictions of The Great American West. Throughout the interiors of the building, you can find contemporary gallery spaces and modern architecture, complementing the artwork on display. The museum was founded by Tom and Mary James, who have collected a number of works over the years. The art they have purchased includes contemporary and historical artists as well as those well-known and just emerging. Such diversity in their acquisitions has allowed for a dynamic and expansive selection of works celebrating art centered on the American West.
At The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art, there are multiple event spaces that may be customized to reflect your wedding theme. With 3,400 square feet of space, Arroyo combines the subtle beauty of sandstone with a bronze sculpture. These features offer a neutral and natural palette to serve as the canvas for your own special day. There is also a majestic waterfall that provides for a whimsical backdrop as you exchange vows. Another event hall is the Mesa Room with 5,875 square feet. Its design takes inspiration from the landscape found in the American West. You may section the room off so you can host various parts of your wedding in different areas. In addition, you can rent the Canyon room which is 2,820 square feet. This is a cafe and shop during the day, but it can be transformed for receptions. It features an antique bar as a historical and noteworthy touch. Throughout the process of planning your special day, a team of event professionals assists you to ensure your event is what you imagined.

The James Museum is THE MOST unique and elegant wedding venue, and Valeria is fantastic to work with. We stopped by the museum quite a few times to take measurements and show family the venue and everyone was SO accommodating and welcoming. We utilized the bar area for the cocktail reception and then moved into the ballroom and it was incredible. The lighting is exquisite (we had pink and white lights), the various photo opportunities are so unique, and the guests loved being able to tour the museum. I can’t say enough about how perfect the evening was! The caterer loved the expansive kitchen and there was plenty of room for the wedding party in the Green Room to get changed and step away. It was an absolutely perfect venue – above and beyond 5 stars. THANK YOU Valeria and team for exceeding our expectations.

We had the most magical, beautiful wedding reception we could’ve ever hoped for! Everything went absolutely seamlessly! They made a night for us that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives! Holly Walton is the best of the best and made sure we had everything we needed prior to our big day. Please go with this vendor a reception! You won’t be disappointed!!!

The James Museum is hands-down the best venue for any event! I had attended two events at the James Museum prior to booking them for my wedding this past November. Both events were curated so well and the employees were so well organized and efficient. When it came to my wedding, it was no different. Valeria and her team (Holly, Lindsey and I’m sure many more) were so responsive and helpful! They were quick to respond to my emails and were great at helping with the timeline and knowing the ins and outs of how to best set up the space. I cannot thank them enough for making our wedding the most perfect evening ever! 10/10 would recommend to anyone getting married, hosting a work event, etc.

The James Museum was the perfect venue for our wedding reception! From the space itself, to access to the beautiful exhibits, to the fantastic staff, I would 10/10 recommend. This was also one of the most affordable spaces in DTSP and was certainly worth the money spent.

We were married in February 2024 and I could not be more pleased with our choice to celebrate at the James Museum. Valeria and her team were incredibly nice and accommodating, even a last minute a schedule change was made to accommodate out-of town guests. The Museum allows guests to see the galleries on their own, which worked out great to take pictures in peace, while the guests (and kids) had something to do.
The professionalism was incredible. I should mention that our party was only 40 people in total, so they small-sized the space, but not the service. Thank you to the wonderful staff!

Absolutely love this museum! It was a dream wedding venue for my husband and I, and the entire James Museum team knocked it out of the park. Tiffany in particular was on top of everything and amazing to all of our vendors. I 120% recommend checking out the James as a wedding venue, or just as a place to see some breathtaking artwork.

The venue is absolutely beautiful on its own but the event staff is so amazing to work with. Holly provided a tour and was there for during my wedding and she was such a great support to my wedding coordinator. Just the sneak peak of our photos so far are breathtaking. You don’t even need a lot of decor because of the views.

We recently had our wedding reception at the James Museum and we could not be happier with how our evening went! From our first tour of the space, to the helpful communications from Tiffany, and the day-of assistance from Holly, we are deeply grateful for the care and attention the members of the James Museum put into our big day. Our guests absolutely loved the cocktail space in the Arroyo and even said they felt like they were in a James Bond movie! Dinner and dancing in Mesa Hall for our party of roughly 190 people was absolutely perfect. We would recommend this vendor to any couple looking for a classy, beautiful, and unique venue.

We just had our wedding at the James Museum and we loved every second of it. From the very first inquiry they were kind, communicative, and professional. We met Holly for the tour and she was amazing then Valeria was incredible to work with throughout the planning process. Their fantastic customer service remained consistent throughout the planning and wedding day. It’s apparent they take a lot of care into every wedding/event they host. The ceremony was more beautiful than we could’ve anticipated with the indoor waterfall and beautiful statue and the reception space was just as beautiful. If you’re considering having your wedding here do it!! You’ll be so happy you did!!

This Museum made for a terrific all-in-one wedding venue for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The fact everything is connected and indoors is perfect to rest easy about unpredictable Florida weather conditions.
The staff are friendly, outgoing and resourceful. There is a lot of value to be had when you rent the entire ground floor.
The acoustics, architecture, and lighting made for an elegant evening black-tie wedding.

I cannot stress enough how incredible the James Museum team is. From Willy, who made sure the tables, stage, dance floor, bar, and everything in between were perfectly set up, to the team member who stayed late to make sure the sound setup was working, to Valeria and Holly who ensured everything was all we dreamed, I cannot imagine a better team to partner with for your special day.
Of all the amazing vendors we worked with for our August 5 wedding, the venue team was the most accessible, understanding, proactive, and compassionate team. From our very first phone call and email, Valeria showed so much excitement and interest in our wedding and us as a couple. She continued the next 13 months always remembering to follow up with us, even if we forgot.
As a wedding coordinator myself, I've worked with so many incredible vendors, but can say I've never worked with a more hospitable venue team, and I'm so lucky to have had the immense pleasure to work with them for our most special day.
I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone who is looking for a gorgeous, unique, and welcoming venue!

My wife and I got married here last weekend and it was nothing short of outstanding. From the employees, to the venue, to the location. All of our guests enjoyed the atmosphere, viewing the gallery during the cocktail hour and the various spaces to host your event. The staff is professional, accommodating, and friendly. We highly recommend hosting your event here.

This was my now husband's first choice for our wedding venue, and did they deliver! They building is beautiful and massive. The art collection was a huge win for our guests. They loved that they got the opportunity to explore the gallery. If you're looking to book them, I can't recommend enough to book all 3 spaces (The Arroyo, Canyon and Mesa). Everything flowed nicely from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception. Valeria and her team really did a wonderful job.

We LOVED having our wedding reception at the James Museum! Tiffany and Valeria were super easy to communicate with and very helpful in the process. We only had our reception here, not our ceremony, but would 10/10 recommend. We comfortably fit ~250 people and believe this is around the true max capacity for the Mesa Hall (could fit ~275 probably). The museum allows one free hour of gallery time for guests which is an awesome feature! You do have to pay additional for parking if you want to use the parking garage because it is linked to the city. Overall, we loved our experience with the James Museum and all the staff there! We could not be more thankful.

We got married at The James Museum on 9/3/22 and it was by far the best decision we made for our wedding. We live across the country, like most of our friends and family, but my parents live in Florida, so we decided to have the wedding here. We were contacting the museum via phone and email the whole time while planning. We first spoke with Holly for a couple months who was so excellent and kind, then Valeria who was equally supportive and fast, and then a few weeks before we headed down, Tiffany was to be our point of contact - she was excellent and precise to work with as well. Each of them made it so easy to plan this major event. The cost of the venue was more than reasonable and was beyond gorgeous from my dad taking a tour of it for us, so we went through with using them as our venue. A wider variety of catering options with some lower price ranges would be nice, and getting catering pricing before signing the contract for the venue would be beneficial, but we have absolutely no regrets being able to use The James Museum for our special night. We are so beyond thrilled to have spent our time there and can't wait to go back sometime in the future.

My husband and I were married on May 21, 2022. To begin, Valeria, was an absolute pleasure to work with. We had to change our date last minute and she made it seamless for us; she was always very quick to respond as well.
This venue is truly magical, I am Native American, so it really made the day special. It was also perfect for our party of 90, we used all 3 rooms and half of the reception hall, which was more than enough room.
It's truly the best venue downtown and if I could do it all over again I would pick the James Museum over and over again.

An amazing "hidden" gem is the best way to describe The James Museum as a wedding/event venue. As a wedding planner, this has already become one of my favorite venues, and I can't wait to get the opportunity to bring my clients here again. Recently, we had our wedding at the James Museum. It was an amazing place to get married for so many reasons. The venue itself is gorgeous. Obviously, the ceremony with the water streaming behind you is wonderful but enough can’t be said about the reception space as well. Lighting in the reception worked beautifully and the dance floor is perfect for everyone to have plenty of space to groove all night! Valeria, the museum's event manager, made the process so easy. She was always helpful, informative, responsive, and available to discuss any questions. The venue supplied a plethora of tables and had everything we needed. Additionally, so many guests commented on how unique it was to walk around such an awesome museum and view all the artwork! If you are going to get married or have an event in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area, I cannot recommend the James Museum enough.

If I could give ten stars I would! As a venue, the James Museum is stunning and classy and every guest at my son's wedding kept complimenting the venue. Truly, you HAVE to visit it and see how gorgeous the elements are and how they complement a wedding. The bronze sculpture of a bridal couple next to the beautiful (real) waterfall in the Arroyo is perfection for a wedding. And the Mesa was stunning in the evening and large enough for our party. The James Museum is a MUST for any elegant affair! But what really makes this venue stand out is the personalized service Valeria and her staff provided! Everyone has a "what went wrong at the wedding" story, but ours could win a contest! I single-handedly planned this wedding and a huge misunderstanding in our family (not with the venue) meant that we had to change some major, MAJOR, elements of the wedding and Valeria and Laura from DRG Catering made it happen. The guests arrived at 6pm, not knowing the work behind one of the most seamless weddings I've ever seen. The bride and groom were on cloud nine, all guests had a blast! And all my work in planning the event was not wasted thanks to the team at the James Museum. My greatest appreciation and heartfelt THANK YOU to Valeria and her staff and to Laura from DRG for making the wedding the most fun, perfect event of our lives. THANK YOU!

The James Museum is a phenomenal venue to host a wedding ceremony and reception. Valeria and her staff (Ashley and Willie) were extremely professional and graciously accommodating. Valaria was very flexible and went beyond the call of duty to assist me in executing the wedding ceremony and reception for the bride and groom (Meesha & Cezar). As a result of Valaria and her staff's efforts, my event was a "World Class" function that is magazine advertisement worthy. Thank you so much Valaria, Ashley and Willie. My husband and I visited this museum when it first opened and we were beyond blown away. Not only by the architecture of the main hall but the exhibits and art was amazing. We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding! Valeria was amazing to work with! She was so kind and always so attentive! We also loved the fact that our guests could view the galleries because we wanted to share our love for the museum with them! We could not have asked for better a better experience or wedding!! I really cannot say enough wonderful things about the museum and the way they handled our very large (200) rehearsal dinner.
EVERYONE was a pleasure to work with from the beginning with Valeria to the catering and food. Laura Storey was my best friend while planning this party. She was amazing and always available to me. I live in Michigan, so planning for a huge party long distance is a challenge in itself! I am telling you that if I had to have another party in Florida, I would choose this museum all over again. My guests loved everything and it was a beautiful perfect evening. DO IT!!!!!

I really can't say enough about my experience with the James Museum, if you love art as I do, or would simply like a unique wedding location, consider the James Museum. I have to say that the experience could not have been better. The staff worked with us with extreme professionalism. I chose their in-house caterer and food and service were great! Another bonus for us was that all our guests could visit the galleries . I recommend this venue because I can say that our wedding day at the James Museum was special!

If you are looking for a wedding venue in St Petersburg, the James Museum is breathtaking! You won't regret it. The space is so charming, I have been to a wedding and to a holiday party at the James and both times I loved the vibe, the food, the galleries.
