The Jasmine Room by Venue is a beautiful banquet hall venue located inside the Grand Manse building in downtown Lincoln, NE. The Grand Manse is an iconic, historic monument in Lincoln, and was originally built in 1904. This stately destination features classic architecture, marble details, oak finishes, and brass elements throughout, giving that old-world elegance. It is on the National Register of Historic places, and stands as an homage to days gone by. Inside the Grand Manse, you will find The Jasmine Room. This special reception hall has played host to many weddings and celebrations. lan a wedding reception here again without having a wedding planner to keep on top of plans with this venue's staff. We had two pre-wedding meetings with the venue coordinator, where we said we wanted the food set up as different stations, and that seemed do-able and even encouraged. But the night before the wedding when we came to setup, the wedding coordinator wasn't there and the room was setup for a floor plan we had never seen. The coordinator had her assistant there to answer questions, but she also had to work on inventory and do other tasks for the venue, so we had to move tables ourselves and we settled on the setup the venue coordinator wanted. We had three hours to decorate, and we spent the first 45 minutes talking through the miscommunications. I was so disappointed, but I didn't want to spend the whole night talking to the coordinator's assistant who wasn't sure what was going on. She was also getting very frustrated, understandably, and it made the whole decorating process unnecessarily stressful and upsetting. The food was delicious, but talking about food orders was a little frustrating because the venue's food staff kept recommending higher amounts of appetizers even as our guest count lowered in the weeks leading up to the wedding. (We did a drinks and apps reception that was later in the evening. We communicated that on our invites and expected most people would probably have dinner before the 7pm reception.) After noting again to the food coordinator that we didn't want to order higher amounts of apps, we never heard back. When we were billed for food, our deposit wasn't factored in, so we almost paid $1,000 more than needed. That was a quick remedy but one of the first red flags that popped up ahead of the wedding day. Our families have loved eating at Venue and Piedmont Bistro, but this experience has diminished our desire to support Venue and its sister companies in the future. If you're looking for a romantic and historic venue, I'd highly recommend looking at another venue or hiring a wedding planner that can help mitigate any issues with this company.

ls your vendors and confirms set up times, etc. and that is insanely helpful! We had a day-of coordinator and she went ABOVE and BEYOND for us and helped us have a relaxing and fun reception. I will say--for your bar tab-- you should be sure to cap the $$ a little lower than you'd like as there is a 20% gratuity automatically tacked on and that can really add to your final charge! Again, highly recommend this lovely venue for any reception or event!

aff was extremely helpful. Now the negatives... they advertise that it will fit 450 for a sit down dinner... I am not sure where the people will sit. When I booked the Jasmine room I had a head count of about 380. They assured me this was a great number. I felt even better when my final headcount was 300. When I walked in the day before to set up, I was so upset there was no pathway to the bar, or anywhere just a table right when you walked in. My friends and I rearranged the tables to allow for a walkway to the bar/food area. 300 I would say is the max amount you would want for this venue. It was backed as is... I have no idea where they would have even put the 8 other tables, let alone 15 for their full capacity. You wouldn't even be able to walk around to get to your table. I would say if you have more then 300 I would look else where. Other then that absolutely beautiful place. I am rating 3 out of 5 stars just for that issue of advertising it fits... because when you see it, its empty you don't know what it looks like full. But if I a smaller wedding it would be perfect.
