We had our wedding at The Jefferson in June, and I was made aware of many issues after the fact that I feel people considering this venue should be made aware of.

Although they advertise as a “wedding venue”, profiting as much money as they can seems to be the priority, rather than creating an unforgettable experience for a bride and groom.
If you want to have your rehearsal there, you are required to pay $100/hr in addition to the cost of the rental for your event. You can only book this 1 month in advance, which allows for other events to be booked. You should be prepared to hold your rehearsal on a Tuesday for a Saturday wedding.
Visible vomit had been left in the bathrooms when we arrived that morning. We had to buy cleaning supplies and address it ourselves. The tables were sticky and unclean. The bridal suite had ants and bugs present, and there were exposed wires and noticeable paint issues in the men’s bathroom.
We had asked for these things to be taken care of during our previous walk throughs, and were assured the items would be addressed.
There were many safety concerns with the deck, some boards appeared unstable. Staff later putting up caution signs.
The “outdoor furniture” they provide are black futons. Need I say more.
The day-of contact, Caleb, was both unhelpful and unprofessional. The way he was observed speaking to, and about his own staff was not only inappropriate, but also concerning.
He conducted multiple tours during our setup time —at one point kicking our boxes out of the way as he was walking through, as our setup items seemed to be an inconvenience for him.
The overall condition of the venue and the way we were treated was disappointing and far below expectations. Especially on such an important day as a wedding

Cannot recommend this venue enough! If you are looking for a venue that has the best backdrop for all of your wedding photos, the Jefferson is for you. With the scenic skyline of downtown Louisville in the background as well as the river flowing by, you can't ask for much more.
The owner of this venue is also a joy to work with. Very communicative and very helpful in answering any and all questions. He was very helpful with our vendors as well.
10/10 would recommend for anyone who is looking for a venue!

The venue changed management a few months b...
efore our daughters wedding. We had been promised things verbally and in text messages that the current management would not honor, which cost us quite a bit extra financially, as well as causing logistical hassles. I had asked for these things to be included in our contract, and I feel certain that they were. However, I only kept a copy of the contract in my computer and the file access ran out before our daughter’s wedding. When I asked for a copy of the contract to be sent to me, what I received was the original contract, without modifications. In addition, communication was often slow, which made planning more difficult
My husband and I have been in the wedding business for over 30 years, owning a local event rental company, so we understand the wedding/event business very well. In all fairness, I don’t think this will be an issue moving forward, unless the venue management changes again. We just kind of got stuck in between. And this would be a five star review had management just honored what previous management had promised.
Besides that, the venue is simply stunning, with beautiful views of Louisville and a FABULOUS bridal suite! In addition, the bar staff was a pleasure to work with, and there is plenty of parking. I would love to include some pictures, but for some reason they won’t upload right now. I’ll try again later.
