look like the Dallas Cowboys cake and the other half to look like the Dallas Stars cake. What we actually got was… embarrassing. A cake with random strokes of icing everywhere and 2 vinyl logos slapped on the top all lumpy. Then there were clumps of sprinkles on top. If they we’re planning to use the logos alone, the Dallas Stars logo isn’t even the one we asked for. This cake is a joke. Multiple guests made the comment that their child could do better. There was obviously zero thought or time put into this Grooms Cake. Walmart could have done a better job. Very disappointed.

to taste and decide. The cake itself was beautiful and yummy, but we have to highlight the additional desserts they provide. Initially, we were thinking of just the traditional bride and groom cakes, but after tasting the cake pops, brownies, and cookies, we knew we had to also have a dessert table. Both the cake and the desserts were the talk of the wedding.

k. I chose her because of her accolades, beautiful cakes on Instagram, my MOH enjoyed working with her, & because she was my venue’s preferred baker. All good things, right? So I thought. My now-husband, parents, & I tasted boxed up cupcakes instead of an in person cake tasting. I wasn’t impressed by most of the cupcake flavors, but it was too late since we’d already booked with JLB. I thought, “At least the final cake will be beautiful.” After I researched wedding cakes, Jenny & I personally worked on the wedding cake design together. I was excited with what we came up with! A lovely white cake with royal blue ribbon, an edible “C” crest for my new last name, & some classy pearl necklaces to match the one I’d wear that day. Come wedding day, I saw the wedding cake for the first time at the reception & was surprised to learn that there wasn’t one but two things wrong with the cake. First, the “C” crest was missing. Second, the pearl necklaces had slid off the rims of the tiers in several places, so they were more pearl “L” shaped. After my honeymoon, I reached out to JLB & nicely asked what happened, sending pictures of the cake design vs. the final result. Jenny let me know that it was “a sad cake” & asked how she could make it up to me. Jenny also explained that the delivery person dropped the edible crest + it seemed the pearls melted in the sun. Apparently 72 degrees is too hot for a professional four tier wedding cake, but not a one tier groom’s cake my mother’s friend made that had traveled 250+ miles in a car without an issue. Thus, I asked for a refund. A few days later, Jenny’s assistant let me know they could not give a refund because “Walters does not offer refunds and because we do not handle the financials as it pertains to the wedding packages.” Aka because I went with the Walters Weddings vendor package, the bakery couldn't do a refund as we paid the Walters Wedding venue for the cake. Therefore, Walters would need to refund the bakery for the cake (or something like that). JLB could offer a new anniversary tier or $50 in store credit to be used by the end of the year. Mind you, JLB didn’t bother to reach out about the “C” crest being damaged even though they knew it happened upon arrival. The venue placed the cake in it’s normal spot as this bakery & venue have worked together countless times. I reached out to the venue’s GM & told her the story. She said she’d see what she could do. Nearly three weeks later, I followed up with the venue GM again. Then Jenny reached out & offered the same $50, but now as a refund, store credit, or an anniversary tier. We opted for the $50 refund, a salty disappointment to what I was expecting to be a sweet & beautiful wedding cake. If you’ve made it to the end of this review, please know JLB doesn’t come recommended from me because they made not one but two mistakes & because of the lackluster consolidation offered. I chose this bakery primarily for the aesthetics & that’s where they fell short *twice* with my wedding cake. So I’m coming home with $50 to make up for this “sad cake.” Brides to be, something will go wrong on your wedding day. But ensure your vendors care enough about you as a customer to try to right their wrongs, as I experienced with my hair stylist, but not with my bakery.

ake. Everything was beautiful and delicious. We had quite a few guests not end up coming so we were able to take home the entire bottom tier and snack on that for a week after the wedding. The cake tasting kit they provide is also amazing, I knew they would be the ones making our cake after 1 tasting. We didn't even look at other bakeries. Thank you Jenny Layne Bakery!

o very helpful to us!! After sampling all of their options, we chose the "wedding cake" flavor (almond) for the bridal cake and the strawberry hibiscus for the grooms cake. Because neither the bride or groom likes chocolate (WHAT??!!) we also ordered brownies and chocolate chip cookies for those guests who do like chocolate and that made for a beautiful display. The bride's cake was an absolute work of art...exactly what we had hoped for. It was a 4-tier masterpiece with a horizontal detail and fresh flowers. Guests are still talking about how delicious it was!! We've packed the top tier away in the freezer for the happy couple's first anniversary. The groom's cake was a large single layer with fresh strawberries and chocolate ganache icing. It was gone in no time!! Our guests went crazy for the strawberry cake - such a nice change from the traditional chocolate groom's cake. As I look back on my daughter's wedding, I will always recall how amazing the cakes were. So moist, so delicious - and that buttercream frosting!!! If you are planning a Walters Estates Wedding, I would wholeheartedly recommend getting your cakes from Jenny Layne Bakery.

berry filling and two layers had strawberry filling. The groom chose to have a selection of 3 cheesecakes (raspberry swirl, chocolate/caramel swirl, and plain with a fresh berries topping). The cake and cheesecakes were absolutely gorgeous, and the taste of each was exceptional. The Jenny Layne crew were punctual and professional, and had everything displayed perfectly. We had so many compliments on our desserts! We highly recommend The Jenny Layne Bakery!

nd making sure that we had the correct numbers and flavors for our guests. We worked together to come up with a beautiful dessert table for our guests and a cutting cake. The surprised me with our cutting cake design, after I told them they had creative license on it. They ended up making a gorgeous blush pink watercolor design and added rose gold foil tricking up the side of the cake! It was perfect, and SO DELICIOUS!!!! We devoured most of the cake on our honeymoon. The desserts went so fast that many of our guests requested where we got our cake balls, since they weren't able to try them! We did cakeballs, cupcakes, brownies, 7 layer bars, lemon bars, a pecan pie, and mini cheesecakes, and every single dessert was melt-in-your-mouth fantastic!!! Book with Jenny Layne!!!

a couple. Our theme for our wedding was “Polo Club Garden Party” and, as a polo player, I knew I wanted to incorporate the sport into our day. I decided that I wanted a cake replica of the International Polo Club field in Palm Beach, FL. Jenny and her team did not think twice about agreeing to make this unique (and very specific) cake! They were great throughout the entire design process, and our entire dessert table turned out great. They also did a Nintendo-64 cake for my husband, and he loved it. I cannot recommend them enough!

She has so many flavors of cakes, but we chose the Italian Cream for our wedding cake - and a dessert bar that had cake pops, cookies (SHE HAS THE BEST COOKIES), and cheesecakes! It was delicious and displayed beautifully! It was everything we could have asked for!

the cake or desserts. It was a little risky, but we'd heard good things about her and went with it. It'm so glad we did! The cake was a mountain theme and she made it look amazing. We choose the raspberry lemon swirl flavor and it was so delicious. We also got a variety of cookies (white chocolate macadamia were my favorite) and cake pops. All were so good. They also delivered the cake and desserts and dressed the cake with the flowers we provided. It was simple and straight forward - I never had to worry about a thing.

ere pretty bland and basic but not this one. Jenny Layne provided more than I could have expected. We had 3 different cake options for our guest which was great. Not only was it delicious but it the presentation was exactly like the picture I gave them. On our anniversary we are going to recreate our wedding topper to enjoy the freshness we had the day of. We couldn't save any of it because most of our cake was gone and every night after we had a slice or two. haha it was just so good!

It’s obvious that she puts a lot of love and care into each order. Jenny made sure every detail was perfect leading up to my wedding day. She designed the cakes of my dreams and even had the perfect cake stands to compliment! My husband and I are so incredibly happy! So much so that we plan on ordering our cake again and again because it’s DELICIOUS! My husband told me to set up a once a month recurring order. Trust me when I say you have to get you some! It is a gift to know her! I will forever recommend her to everyone I know!!

e tell you, at the tasting we could barely decide which flavor we wanted because they were all so delicious! My bridal cake actually had 3 different flavors because I couldn't decide. As for the design of the cakes, she nailed both my bridal cake and my husband's groom cake. His was a very specific item that had some intricacies, but she was able to replicate from only a PICTURE! She even gave us great ideas of things we could add that we hadn't thought of. I already can't wait to eat our leftovers on our anniversary next year because it was that good. I definitely recommend Jenny Layne to everyone who is searching for a baker!!!

wanted to make sure that it was something to remember and people would love! We went to a venue Open House and Jenny Layne Bakery was there, so we decided to give their champagne cupcakes a try. We were absolutely HOOKED! While she does have the traditional “wedding” flavors and fillings, she also has so many others to choose from to make your cake unique! Not to mention how creative and beautiful her cakes are as well. Out of everything from the day we can still remember how amazing the cake was and can’t wait for our anniversary to order another!

We chose a variety of pies since my hubby loves pie and the chocolate pecan, Dutch apple, blueberry, and cherry were a HIT. There was only a tiny bit of the chocolate pecan left at the end for my husband to even try- which was delicious. They make the process fun, tasty, and super easy- would highly recommend.

She gave us exactly what we wanted and envisioned. Everyone was talking about the Astros groom’s cake she made and how cool it was.
