Securing The Journey as our venue for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made with our planning! The location near Loring Park was ideal in terms of access, parking, nearby hotels, and other interesting sites like the sculpture garden and basilica. However, it is the venue itself, with exposed brick walls, chandeliers, and rustic elegance that really helped set the tone for our event. We held a wedding event for approximately 130 people, with a set-up that included 15 round tables, an appetizer table, a buffet line, a “sweetheart” table, and a photo booth. Our guests loved the spacious, yet intimate feel of the venue, with easy access to the bar, restrooms, and outside. We had lovely weather that allowed us to open the garage door to the alleyway, which enhanced the space and feel of the room. The technical equipment provided, including sound and lighting, was of high quality and added to the overall splendor of the space. We hired a DJ who was able to coordinate their set-up with The Journey’s system. We also set up a photo slide show with a projector that included with the venue, and had access to wired, wireless, and lapel microphones for our ceremony and program. Sarenda, owner and manager of The Journey, helped to answer our questions or concerns prior to the event and was on site and available throughout our scheduled event. We truly enjoyed our evening with family and friends gathering to celebrate in this beautiful space!
