We hired Juniper for our wedding and are so glad that we did! From creating the menu, to the tasting, to the wedding, Lali and her team were very easy to work with. We liked that they use local ingredients and are a small local business, as we were trying to support local businesses as much as we could. The food was excellent and we had a lot of compliments on it. They were very accommodating to food allergies and restrictions, and the vegan at our wedding even said it was the best wedding food she had ever had! I especially appreciated that they put a small grazing table on our head table to make sure we got some - which was great as I never did make it to the actual grazing table! Overall, we are so glad we went with them and would hire them again in a heartbeat!
Juniper Spoon just catered our outdoor wedding in Greencastle. Every dish they served was incredible — filled with local and fresh vegetables, locally butchered and cured meats, and seasoned perfectly. Working with Lali to create our menu was also a good experience; she was very willing to talk us through everything they make, give us advice on their favorite and most successful dishes, and tweak and customize dishes to create the perfect feast. Even their simple summer garden salad was flavorful and a hit! Really could not recommend them more highly.
The Juniper Spoon worked with me to create a menu that was so personalized to my husband and me. My husband is Indian, so we had several vegetarians/non-beef eaters to cater to, as well as several gluten free folks---and lots of foodies. People from each of those groups all told me how amazing the food was! One thing I just loved was that while creating the menu, Lali had several food options that were nods to my husband’s culture, but she also asked me about my culture and suggested dishes for me as well. The result was an incredibly unique, inspired menu that tasted even better that I could have imagined. I also got quotes from several other caterers and The Juniper Spoon was very competitive. Plus, they were just so wonderful to work with. Lali was just FUN and on top of it, and (especially because I know nothing about ordering catering) gave me so much confidence that I didn’t have to stress about everything food-wise to be perfect. I just can’t say enough food things.
Because I think it’s so awesome, here’s what we had:
Hors d'Oeuvres Table: Chana Chaat dip, Beer Cheese Dip, Corn Fritters, Boursin Stuffed Mushrooms, Lamb Tikka Meatballs
Luncheon Table: Tarragon Chicken Salad Wraps, Black Bean Sliders, Earth & Fire Slider (Beef Tenderloin), Spring Parmesan Risotto, Potatoes Tzapanos
One “warning”: their rustic vanilla cupcakes were so good that I’ll never be able to eat a regular cupcake again. One guest even told me, “This is the best ******* cupcake I’ve ever eaten!”
The Juniper Spoon is the greatest catering company of all time! My now husband and I met them at a bridal show at Hidden Hollow Farm in 2017 and had such wonderful conversation with them, we knew we wanted to book a meeting ASAP and see what they were all about! We met with Lali a few months later and fell in love with everything she and her company did. She even took us on a walk among the grounds and showed us their amazing garden; we loved that we could see where a lot of our food was coming from! Our wedding day was October 6, 2018 and they cooked the best food we have ever had. We wanted to have a gourmet buffet dinner at our barn wedding, and The Juniper Spoon made that a dream come true for us. The staff was amazing, and the food was to die for! Thanks again for everything!
THEY ARE THE BEST!! The crew at Juniper Spoon were incredible at our wedding! Besides the amazing service, the food was, no joke, the best food I have ever had at a wedding or restaurant! Everything is so fresh and tasty! People are still bragging how much they ate because they just couldnt stop :) Lali was so amazing with planning with me from far away. We live in Austin and I felt like I had a best friend helping me back in IN. She went above and beyond making sure everything was to me and my families likings and even made the Disney theme work so so well! We were thrilled with Juniper Spoon and only wish we lived closer to hire Lali and her team to cook for us weekly, haha! Thank you soo soooooo much! My guests and I will be talking about you guys for a lifetime! Thank you <3
Everyone loved The Juniper Spoon's food at our wedding reception! I initially loved the organic, local nature of the food but was even more impressed by its presentation. I couldn't have asked for a more appetizing arrangement of the incredible food. Working with TJS was very easy and eased a lot of stress during the planning stages and the day of the wedding. The hummingbird cake is amazing and looks as great as it tastes!
The Juniper Spoon catered my wedding which had a very specific theme. I wanted to do a rustic fall picnic so as you could imagine it was difficult to find a catering company that could do this in an elegant way. The Juniper Spoon did it perfectly! I loved the boxes that they put together and everyone loved the food! When you add that the ingredients come from local farms...what more can you ask for?!
The Juniper Spoon catered my wedding at the Sommers Mansion on Aug. 24th in Indianapolis, and it was absolutely lovely. I initially chose the Juniper Spoon, because it was one of the only catering businesses focused on local and organic. And they went above and beyond even that very specific expectation!
The staff were very professional, courteous, and punctual. As the bride, I think I was able to catch a glimpse once of Lali, who runs the show. She ran magic behind the scenes in the small kitchen of our venue beautifully. It felt as though we were at a high-end restaurant. The waitstaff served on time and removed dishes on time with decorum. Also, our guests (almost) could not get enough of the delicious food. (At the end of the night, Lali packed up leftovers which were gladly taken by family and friends.) A large colorful mixed salad with beets was actually one of the biggest hits. Lali's selection and pairing of vegetables is spot on. I must say I've always hated beets and initially didn't want them on the menu. But after trying them in the salad, I am a beet-eating convert!
Furthermore, Lali was even accommodating to special requests and trying out new recipes while incorporating local ingredients. My husband and I had just spent 2 years in Austria, and we really wanted to expose our friends and families to the types of meals we ate abroad. Lali searched and used our recipes and did a few ingredient substitutions to control costs, local-ness, and cultural authenticity. She balances such needs well while making sure all important bases are covered (enough waitstaff, enough meal options, etc.)
The Juniper Spoon is quality in every sense, and I recommend them 100%.
