My husband and I got married at The Kaaterskill Inn under the October 2022 full moon, and it was a dream come true. The venue was exactly what we were looking for - something unique, surrounded by nature, where we could create a surreal, magical experience.
On our first visit, we were greeted by their flock of ducks and I immediately knew this was the place for us. Tammy and Alex worked closely with us to help bring our wedding vision to life. They care deeply about their couples and went above and beyond to help make our wedding happen. The Kaaterskill is a magical place - my husband and I stayed in the house on the property for three nights. The rooms were cozy and inviting, and we loved spending time there. We even held our rehearsal dinner on the back patio of the house on the property the night before the wedding, and it was absolutely beautiful. I definitely recommend staying in the house for your wedding!
We held our ceremony at a clearing in the woods by the apple tree, and it felt like something out of a dream. Cocktails and the reception were held in the barn, which is a beautiful space. As the night went on, our guests enjoyed gathering around the nearby bonfire to warm up. Our guests also loved interacting with the animals- they were definitely a highlight!
The day after the wedding, my husband and I were able to take our time walking around the property and reflecting on the joy and magic of our wedding. Tammy and Alex are a dream team, and I cannot recommend The Kaaterskill enough! Our guests are still talking about how unique, beautiful, and magical our wedding was. We're so grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate our wedding there.
The Kaaterskill is an amazing location! The ability to use all of the different spaces allow a couple to design their own flow and feel for their wedding. We have catered numerous weddings at The Kaaterskill and love it every single time. We cannot wait to be working here again.
Words cannot express how amazing this venue and the people who run it are. We chose the Kaaterskill because we wanted to have a wedding weekend but not have everyone travel so far. We and most of our guests are from NYC so spending a weekend at the Kaaterskill felt like an escape. The grounds are stunning and made my photos look amazing! We went hiking around the property and even set up a bon-fire. The ceremony was outside, the cocktail hour was in the pond house, and the reception was in the barn. It rained on and off most of the day, but we discussed a rain plan months before so I wasn't worried.
The inn is beautifully decorated and fitted all of my wedding party.
I feel very fortunate for Kate and her team. Every element was of that day was perfect all because of their hard work. When you are a bride, there is so much to think about and so much to do. Kate answered all my questions and was very good at communicating so I felt at ease and taken care of the entire weekend.
The Kaaterskill is a beautiful venue. Even though it rained on our wedding day everything was perfect. The new coordinators were a little hard to work with at times but it was still the best day of my life.
We wanted an elegant, warm and relaxed country atmosphere for our 100 person wedding. The Kaaterskill had accommodations for our wedding party, a finished barn with restrooms, acres of green grass, trees, and meadows for ceremony options, and the wonderful Kimberlea Kressal-Jaffe to coordinate our wedding needs. Emails and calls were answered within 24 hours without exception. Our caterer, officiant, and photographer were all referrals by Kimberlea and we could not have been happier. The deposit was returned within 10 days after the wedding. Contracts and fees were 100% reasonable and within our budget. Compared to other "rustic barn" venues in the Hudson Valley area, the Kaaterskill outshone them not only in amenities and aesthetic, but also value. A huge plus was that the barn itself had restrooms. Other venues required port-a-johns, not exactly what I envisioned at my wedding. The weather happened to be perfect (if humid) that day, so we had our ceremony in a meadow then to the barn for dinner and dancing. We originally planned for rain and the barn is spacious enough for a 200 person event should it have rained. After the ceremony, the barn happily held our 100 guests and throughout the evening they danced, ate, and discovered the farm surroundings at their leisure. Not everyone wants to dance the night away; guests had the choice to stroll, enjoy the outdoors, and relax without feeling excluded from a party just because they don't dance or drink! The Kaaterskill Inn is an optional add-on to renting the barn venue and I HIGHLY recommend this for the additional cost. Having the wedding party immediately on-site for rehearsals and set up and so forth was incredibly helpful. The rooms themselves are spotless. Bathrooms are pristine, furnishings are tasteful and fun and the kitchen and common areas were amazing and comfy. Only downside is no cell service! Be warned!!! I would have my wedding all over again at the Kaaterskill! A+++++
We were looking to get married in a place where we could take over the property for the weekend and have super fun relaxed wedding and the Kaaterskill was perfect for that. We loved having the house for the whole weekend and the Ben and bonfire the night of the wedding was perfect. Despite the fact that the area had been badly affected by the hurricane the month before the wedding the house and grounds were fantastic. Our guests did have to wear rain boots because it had poured the week before the wedding, but it just added to the fun laid back style. Loved having the cocktail hour in the pond house and the Bon fire in the fire pit at the end of the night. It is great not having a time limit on the venue. People told me it was one of the most fun and unique weddings ever. We invited more people than the barn could fit (I would not put more than 130 people in the barn with a dance flood) so we had to add on a tent but it was totally fine. We definitely plan on coming back and renting the house again.
Hurricane Irene flooded the Kaaterskill—and you would never have known just a week later, when we were married in its pretty barn by the pond, with the beautiful mountain backdrop overlooking it all. The Hirsches (the owners) and their caretakers worked like crazy, moving fallen trees, rebuilding a barn floor, and making their gorgeous property look like new, all with the good humor and determination that make their farm so incredible to begin with. They are fantastic people, and we could not have had a more beautiful wedding. The setting is phenomenal, the Inn (with its fabulous, fun, eclectic decor; giant kitchen; billiard room and luxurious beds) a perfect place to stay. The farm felt like ours all weekend, and it made an amazing day all the more special.
Seriously, I bet you've looked at eight hundred reviews at this point (if you're a bride anything like me ;))—just go to the Kaaterskill, and you'll see what I mean. It doesn't get any better!
Wow, were do I start? Our wedding at the Kaaterskill was the most wonderful evening of our lives! This place is so enchanting from the beautiful landscape to the fuzzy animals, and the delightfully decorated B&B. We couldn't have chosen a more perfect venue to celebrate our wedding. Our friends and family had the best time and all commented how it was the BEST wedding they had ever attended. Belkis, Allen, Debbie and Lonnie are all incredibly wonderful and warm. They added in making our wedding experience both excellent and easy. I have never met more loving and happy people who truly enjoy taking part in these types of events. We can't thank them enough for all their help. We both look forward to our anniversary so we can spend more time at the Kaaterskill. A huge thank you to all of you for making our dreams come true! With love, Rachel and Hugh
the kaaterskill is fantastic place that we have enjoyed as a getaway from the city for several years. and it was the ideal location for our "farm chic" wedding. everything was perfect from the venue itself, to the beautiful surroundings durning a warm autumn afternoon. The guest suites are wonderfully decorated and were a pleasure for us to enjoy for a few days. there are several buildings on the property all of which served as a great variety of destinations during cocktail hour, reception, and dancing. guests were amused while enjoying the vast property and visiting the animals, everyone loves fluffy bunnies! And nothing could've been better than wrapping up the festivities with a big camp fire under the clear star filled sky and making s'mores!
Big thanks to Debbie and Lonnie...we loved our special day!
