How I wish I could give this place 5 stars. The venue location and Inn itself is absolutely gorgeous! Allison on the staff is the sweetest! The food was excellent! My guests raved ...
about it. Now for the negative. They do not have an events manager/ planner, therefore, the extremely busy inn keeper is who you will have to work with. It was really hard to get responses in a timely manner. Also, I don’t think they really enjoy doing weddings there. I feel like it’s more of a ‘must do’ for them. Many times I felt like I was a burden with my questions and requests. The inn keeper is extremely professional and knows what she’s doing, but you will not get any warm and fuzzies. Also- they don’t supply you with a list of guidelines or what you can’t do, which caused some friction. I didn’t realize at check in that I had to ask for the bridal suite to be freshened up before 10 am the next day so when I asked for the bed to be made and trash taken out for my honeymoon night- I was told I missed the timeframe and ended up having to do it myself. I wasn’t told we couldn’t use faux rose petals during the ceremony and felt scolded when they had to be blown off the courtyard afterwards. Had I known beforehand, wouldn’t have been an issue. Also my HMU artists showed up and started to set up in a getting ready side room ( this being their 10th wedding at this venue) and were told they had to reset up under drop cloths. I told them just to come to my room so we could get ready there and was then told that wasn’t allowed. Again, something that wasn’t shared ahead of time and I was out where wedding guests could see me and had to be hidden from the groom. I wasn’t told in a timely manner that we couldn’t have candles without hurricane globes in centerpieces until after I had created all my centerpieces and had to spend extra and pivot on their design. Also we never received our champagne for our wedding toasts and the cake was served so late that no one ate any of it, so it ended up being a waste of money. Overall it was a beautiful event but I really wish this place had a designated event planner to handle such important days to ensure all the communication flows better. My guests didn’t pick up on the tension but the wedding party certainly did. It’s still a beautiful venue to consider- just set expectations about communication upfront.
I had both my ceremony and reception at the Inn. It was outside and it couldn't have been more perfect. The owner has just remodeled everything and done a wonderful job! The staff ...
really made everything perfect by how professional and nice they all were! I got tons of really wonderful compliments from all my guests and it's a day I'll always remember. Huge thank you to Mrs. Pat.
My new husband and I stayed at the Kenwood Inn as a short honeymoon. We were only able to stay one night, but it was absolutely wonderful! Pat is a delight & the home is so beautif...
ul, especially with all of the Christmas decorations just going up. Our room was cozy & neat and breakfast was served on the veranda as was delicious! Pat & all of the other guests offered us plenty of congratulations on our new marriage. We will absolutely be back very soon and will be suggesting Kenwood Inn to our family and friends.
