The Kilted Cake

The Kilted Cake was amazing with our wedding cake! We found them as we had our wedding near the Temecula area and found them on The Knot. They provided us with a free tasting kit which had 5 different cake flavors and over 30 different fillings! We ultimately ended up selecting a vanilla cake with guava filling and lemon cake with Bavarian cream which both tasted amazing. They offered a flat fee as well for delivery to our venue and decoration upon delivery. We were not there to greet them on the day of but we couldn’t have been happier with how our cake turned out!

We were so happy with our wedding cake! The design was exactly what we had imagined, and it tasted so good! We did several cake tastings, all at different places, and once we tasted the samples from the Kilted Cake we knew we were choosing them, the cake was just that much better! Communicating with Sierra was super easy and she was very responsive. Would definitely choose them again, and if we need a fancy cake in the future we will get it from here!

Sierra was such a pleasure to work with. We knew from the effort she went through for our tasting that she is the baker we wanted for our wedding. We got to try literally all of the filling flavors and had enough cake samples for endless combinations of flavors, and she also packed a whole tasting kit to go for us as my now husband was not able to join the in person tasting. She was very helpful, easy to work with, responded quickly to our emails, and definitely went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. Sierra was amazing to work with, she made the whole process so easy and stress free and the extra plus, the desserts were delicious! Our guests raved about the macarons and cake shooters. The cake tasting was also so much fun and they have so many incredible flavors and fillings.

I hired Kilted Cake a little more than a year out prior to our wedding in December. I had been in constant contact with Sierra about the cake design and flavors and she had been nothing short of amazing. When I saw the cake from afar on our wedding day (from the sweetheart table), I couldn't wait to see it when it was time to cut the cake. It was such a simple but beautiful winter cake that had ivory base and white trees and mountains in fondant. The vision completely came to life with our woodland, outdoorsy themed reception. Thank you so much for creating a beautiful cake! It is definitely one that I will always remember.

The cake for our wedding was SO good! This was an excellent value. The tasting prepped us for an awesome cake but the final product was even better. Carrot cake is our favorite and was a must but when we tried the triple chocolate cake with raspberry mousse and raspberry filling, they were so delicious we decided to do that for the large tier and the carrot cake for the small tier. Our guests loved the cake! Both flavors were a hit and we were only able to take scraps home to freeze! Good thing my fiancé and I got both cakes on our wedding night :)

The kilted cake made us the most beautiful celestial wedding cake along with chocolate covered strawberries and caramel apples. Everything was delicious and they were an absolute hit! Thank you so much for everything!

I hired this baker because they had the most flavors and cake designs for the price. I am so happy I went with them because the cake was amazing! Communication was amazing and so easy. I got three different flavors of cake too, each tier being a different flavor.

These ladies are great! We ordered a two-tier cake and a bunch of cupcakes for our wedding. The cupcakes looked great, just like flowers like we asked! Everything tasted amazing and we got a ton of compliments. We even ordered a dozen vegan cupcakes for our dairy-free guests and those ones were super good too.

Very please with our experience with kilted cake! Professional, simple, talented, easy, affordable, and kind are all words that come to my mind while writing this review. We really wanted a geode cake that was pink and purple and they delivered. We interviewed and tasted EIGHT cake places! And no one else came close to Kilted. I have a wheat allergy so I had to make sure the cake would be completely gluten free. They didn’t bat an eye! We had a gluten free tasting, so even I got to enjoy the tasting, not just my husband. Delivery of the cake to the venue was easy to schedule and payments were made over the phone. They also had tons of cake stands to rent at reasonable prices. Anything you can just check off the list before your wedding day is an extra bonus. I even sent them swatches of my colors that they were able to match! Also, during our tasting Sierra was able to draw our idea right in front of us. Pure talent! As I reflect on our time after the wedding I realize now this was one of the easiest vendors to deal with because I didn’t have to worry about them! At all! I knew they had it handled!

I used Kilted Cake for my wedding cake, and couldn’t be happier! The whole process was super easy. They had great communication and were always quick to respond. The cake came out exactly as we discussed and most importantly, delicious (better than the tasting too)!

Sierra and Vanessa were an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. From the initial phone call inquiring for pricing, to their email responsiveness, to all of our visits into the shop, their staff was always so attentive, friendly, and willing to help. Aside from their exceptional customer service, the cake they made for our wedding was to die for! At our tasting and at the wedding, the cake was moist and delicious. Literally all of their fillings were delightful, especially the fruit ones!! It was so hard to choose. The cake itself was stunning and complimented our wedding perfectly. We would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for an affordable wedding cake that's not only delicious, but comes with impressive service!

Our wedding cake was exactly what we wanted! From providing pricing over e-mail, free cake tastings and just good communication, the Kilted Cake was a pleasure to work with. They let us use one of their cake stands on our wedding day too (for free)! The cake was not only beautiful (two tier decorated with fresh flowers), but tasted great. They also didn't make us feel guilty for buying our sheet cake from another (cheaper) store. Also to note, this is a cake supply shop, so you can get anything you need here, including cake toppers. I highly recommend using them as your baker!

Our wedding reception cake from The Kilted Cake was moist & delicious! French vanilla cake, two layers Bavarian chocolate cream, one layer apple filling. Yum. At our cake tasting, we showed Vanessa our topper and she sketched a cake design to match it and our 1960s theme. Other bakeries had pricy minimums.
