The Kimpton Schofield Hotel

This review summarizes our experience staying at the Schofield for our son's wedding. (His wife's family is in the area, but he & his wife are on the west coast). Their ceremony was in the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, reception at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The hotel is 12 minutes away from both & served as a key location-also was conveniently near Friday nights Welcome Event in The Flats area. There's a wonderful deli/market, Heinens, across the street & easy walking distance to the pedestrian area restaurants & bars on 4th Street. Based in MI, we wanted to create a "home" base for all family & friends coming in from out of town for the 4 day weekend. The hotel staff exceeded expectations throughout the year of planning leading up to the weekend, as did the space they helped us create. We reserved the entire Levi Floor-all 7 apartments-for immediate family, becoming one giant house, complete with a gym! The signature 2 bedroom, the Schofield, was excellent space not only to host family & friends in, but served as an excellent spot for the Bride, 5 bridesmaids, mothers, & a few friends to get hair & makeup prepared for the day. So much fun! The Rockefeller 2 bedroom likewise perfect for the Groom & groomsmen to gather before the big day started. Every detail in these rooms, as well as the other apartments, contributed to "Our Home Away From Home"-right down to the well equipped kitchens, comfortable bed/bedding, relaxed furnishings & essentials like dishwasher/washer/dryer/iron/steamer. Rooms in the hotel blocks were equally perfect! I want to highlight how impressed I was with Marissa Lee in Sales. Her complete attention to not only every inquiry I made along the way (planning/with 2 pre walk around visits) but insightful suggestions for items we could enhance our weekend with-like restaurant & catering services or city logistical situations we may encounter-helped everything run smoothly! She listened, sent timely detailed emails, made sure that everything we asked for was followed through upon & coordinated with staff. She was exactly everything we needed & more to help make everything special for both our families. I want to commend the Hotel's Housekeeping, they assisted in making sure every room on the Levi floor was setup properly to our requests(attention to detail including moving about furniture),that rooms were cleaned working around our wedding events schedule & any minor hiccups were immediately taken addressed. Props to Valet! From assisting with moving carloads of items up to the Levi floor, to making sure they were adequately staffed during event times despite it being a Baseball Home Game rush. Lastly, I want to praise all who handled check-in process smoothly & with a welcoming smile. Welcome bags, which included vouchers to the hotel's restaurant, were handed out with care. Guests were very happy with grouped room locations & appreciated some early check-ins. The professionalism, attention to detail & willingness to go the extra mile did not go unnoticed. We received numerous compliments from family/friends about comfortable accommodations & excellent service-especially those who were on the Levi Floor or those that came up to visit - it really did feel like a big family home! I cannot say enough how I truly appreciated Marissa's hard work & hotel's entire staff's efforts. We found their dedication in making our wedding weekend a success so touching. A truly great location to gather out-of-towner's for a wedding!!
