This venue is absolutely stunning. We booked it for our destination wedding, and did not see the venue until a few days before our wedding. While the pictures are beautiful and the reason we picked KK, it is even more beautiful in person. A huge plus of the location is that since it is in the mountains, it is much cooler than a beach wedding would have been. The only downside to the location was it was rather windy, but it was also a plus because it kept us cool. Esther was amazing to work with. She was very responsive and friendly. She did a walk through with us a few days before our wedding and helped us figure out last minute details. The food is also delicious here! I highly recommend King Kamehameha

Beautiful views, nice reception area, and good food. Also it’s pretty affordable compared to other venues in Maui. Overall, we loved our wedding and all of our vendors.

tars? Our wedding coordinator. Long story short, we felt the wedding coordinator fell short of our expectations. There was minimal help for the planning process. We needed help finding vendors and coordinating our wedding with them. Our coordinator simply sent us a list of a few vendors they recommend, then it stopped there. We basically did all the coordinating with the vendors ourselves. We really had to make an effort to ask our coordinator for help when that was her job. We felt so overwhelmed 2 weeks before the wedding that we hired an outside coordinator to help us. That was one of the best decision that we made. Our new coordinator helped us organize everything, helped us with the rehearsal, and basically saved our wedding. On the day of, we still had the KKGC coordinator help with venue related issues. They did a good job setting up the ballroom and the table décor. However, we did have an issue with the arch (that we coordinated with the venue) arriving very late. Overall, we would recommend KKGC as a wedding venue for the amazing views and food, but you’re better off with an outside coordinator.

uction to the place. I inquired and set up everything through Janet Inda. We set a day for the rehearsal for which she never even came to greet me or anything. I even called and she was in her office on property and couldn’t come down?? I had to basically guess where it was normal for us to enter the facility, where all the chairs would be set up, where the water station would be, what would happen if it rained!? I couldn’t believe no one even came to just offer a greeting to the place and little tour of where we would be getting married. No one was even there the day of the wedding as well. When I shared with them how I was unhappy because it was an investment and although it was just a small function for them it was a huge day for me. I genuinely felt like I was just pushed aside because I’m local and they have bigger clients spending more money. They told me it was my fault because I didn’t hire their wedding coordination for the day? I didn’t need a coordinator for the day I just needed someone who works there to tell me where it would be located and what normally happens? I needed maybe 20 minutes of their time and now it’s my fault for not spending more money for a few answers. I’m sorry but it was a horrible experience for me and I would advise brides to be to avoid the additional stress.

from us. We do aim to provide the same customer service to all of our clients regardless of the size or type of event.
Coordination is not included in the booking of our site. That is additional for those who want, as many of our clients have their own coordinator or someone close to them that will handle the coordinator's duties. We understand the frustration of planning your own wedding with no guidance, as it may be frustrating if you have never coordinated a wedding before.
There was some kind of confusion for the type of guidance you were seeking at your rehearsal. We believed you were asking for services that your coordinator would normally provide. We do not provide choreography of your ceremony rehearsal unless you secure our coordinating services. The booking of the rehearsal date is something that we offer at no additional fee so that you can go over the choreography of your ceremony with your wedding party.
A separate appointment is usually scheduled upon request for a site visit or walk through of the venue and to discuss the set up details of your event. Taking time during your rehearsal will take away from your guests and rehearsal time, so we usually do not do a walk through during that time.
A Banquet Captain was assigned to set up your chairs and water station. The Banquet Captain was there till the end of your ceremony & removed the chairs after you were done.
Mahalo for taking time to give us your feedback and sharing your experience with us. Our team has discussed better ways to handle bride's requests in the future. It is very important that this does not happen again. We will be sure that we are clearer when we book a ceremony location; it is just for the location, the chairs, and the water service. Coordination is an additional service that we offer and is available upon request.

prepared for last minute changes. The staff is very accommodating and allowed for some self-decorating to add a personal touch to our special day. Also, the DJ, the cake vender, and the flower vender are familiar with King Kamehameha GC. We were very pleased to have chosen this place for our wedding.

fantastic, even on an overcast and windy day like we had. The food was VERY GOOD, I'm only disappointed they don't let you take any of it home.

We just had our wedding there. Amazing views. Absolutely amazing food, in fact all of our guests raved about how good the food was.
Bar had great service. Drinks flowed all night...
no problems with the our event.
Then why 2 stars? Plain and simple the Banquets Department is terrible. The way they conduct business is unethical and borderline illegal.
I am a small business owner, with a background in bars and nightclubs.
Spreadsheets and Invoices are what I do for a living.
I had to constantly babysit the Banquets department in regards to numbers and invoicing mistakes. That was leading up to our event....
Night of: APPARENTLY They didn't order enough of the champagne we asked for so they offered us an upgrade for no charge. Seems reasonable. It was a 50 cent retail price difference so Im not sure id call it an upgrade. I also suspect that they just got a deal on this champagne and decided to push it. The lead was very pushy about taking the upgrade.
I approached the bar and realized that, my personal favorite alcohol was not on the bar even though it was in our package.APPARENTLY they did a "price restructure" the week before and our favorite vodka was no longer in the premium package.
Lots of business and invoicing mistakes. All of which made the venue more revenue or reduced costs. BE CAREFUL own your numbers they do not. They constantly switch things around. Get everything in writing. Everything!
They also aren't very personable.

udes mountains and overlooks the valley and ocean. It was spectacular! The staff was also very helpful! I contacted them a lot through email as the date approached with ideas, questions, alterations to the set-up and the staff was very helpful! They always got back to me in a timely manner and answered my questions or directed me to options that helped me. I feel like they provided exactly what I asked for and we were both pleased.

ee guests being served the wrong cake. Due to major rain on our Wedding Day we had to use the indoor option. While I would have loved to have had our ceremony on the lawn, I couldn't have asked for a better rain back up.

terrace is beautiful and the food was wonderful. We opted for a buffet dinner and open bar. Our attendants were gracious and friendly and everyone had a great time!

is beautiful. I had a wonderful time working with Steven Cook, who is the banquet manager. He was very knowledgeable, calm, and very easy to work with. Since I my wedding was destination, from California to Hawaii,he made it all easy and smooth process. The food was excellent, all MAUI GROWN. The servers and bartenders were very attentive and wanted to make sure that everything was flowing smoothly. If I have a chance to do it all over again, I will definetly choose this place in a heartbeat.
