The Kingfish Band

The Kingfish Band is the Best!!! We hired them for our wedding this past June and they were fabulous. Leading up to the wedding we met with Steve a couple times and he was the easiest vendor to work with! He was so professional but also very personal and fun and really got to know my husband and me. Steve was very knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations regarding the timeline of events for our reception. On the actual wedding day we didn’t have to worry about anything as the band coordinated the grand march, cake cutting, speeches, bouquet toss etc. It was a huge relief to know they were taking care of all those little details. Once our cocktail hour ended and the live music started our dance floor was packed!!! Everyone was dancing and LOVED the music. We had guests from 18-80 years old out there having a great time. I really liked how with The Kingfish Band, you can have DJ music and Live music. They will play DJ music during their breaks and the cocktail hour if you wish. My favorite thing about this awesome band is how personalized they can make your wedding. My husband and I literally selected every single song on their DJ set list. Then they let us go thru their huge catalog of live songs they play and pick our favorites. They were so easy to work with and absolutely worth every penny. I would highly recommend this band to any Bride and Groom. Thank you guys for everything!!! We can’t wait to hear you play live again soon!!!

The Kingfish Band was amazing to work with. Steve made the entire process extremely easy from start to finish. The band's performance was absolutely incredible, and made our night truly memorable. We had so many friends comment on how much they enjoyed them, and several requests for their information for future events. We would highly recommend them to anybody looking, we cant say enough positive things about them, 5 stars doesn't do them justice!

Kingfish was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish! They were extremely professional, the breadth of songs and sounds they can produce is amazing, and you can't beat their value for 6 band members. We waivered on going with a band vs. DJ but are SO glad we ended up going the band route. We were very picky and didn't want a "cheesy" cover band--Kingfish was the complete opposite! They sound so good and just like the original versions of the songs they play. They really interacted with our guests and got the crowd excited. Unsolicited we had people coming up to us during the reception and even weeks after the wedding with RAVE reviews about the music. Someone said "the band was the best music I have ever experienced at a wedding...no question." We agree! Kingfish was a highlight of our wedding!

MEETING THE BAND: We heard about The Kingfish through a friend of ours who had them play at their wedding. We heard from others at that wedding "the dance floor was full all night" so we went ahead and booked the band without having heard them before! PRE-WEDDING: From the very first e-mail conversation with the band's leader, Steve, we knew this band was going to be amazing to work with! Every question and concern was answered and addressed promptly. When Steve came to meet us for planning details, he helped us put together the music and timeline for the wedding day and added suggestions from previous weddings they had performed at! Another awesome part about our experience with the band was that they personally went to our venue prior to the wedding day to make sure they knew exactly how to set up for the Big Day. It was a HUGE weight off our shoulders to know that the music and sound set-up was completely taken care of for our wedding day! THE BIG DAY: The band arrived and set-up without any problems! On your wedding day there are a million things going on, I didn't have to think even once about the music! It was perfect!! We had two of the band members playing acoustic guitar for our ceremony. They learned a few new acoustic versions of songs we picked out. We had an outdoor ceremony and the sound was great! (And the best part was, that was all included in the price!) The band completely saved the day for us when the sound wouldn't work on our slideshow! Without hesitation, the band's DJ started playing music from their speakers and it was great! And then FINALLY, it was time for the dancing to begin! Our guests LOVED the band and the dance floor was full the entire night!! They only took 2 short set breaks. It was the best wedding band I've ever heard!!! We were so happy, it was perfect :)

So I will start out by saying, I am fairly controlling, and the music / entertainment for my wedding and reception was the most important part for me...I just wanted people to have fun. This review will never do Steve Matz and the Kingfish band justice for the superb services they provide. This band MADE OUR WEDDING. When I look back at the memories of our most important day, starting our lives together, this group of people were not there as "some hired music". They became friends we wanted there, and they became part of every single memory...from walking down the isle to being introduced as a couple for the first time, to the fact our dance floor was PACKED from the first song to the last, The Kingfish Band made our wedding what every person dreams of when they plan a wedding and reception. Steve was amazing to work with and listened to our goals for the night and made them happen. He traveled to meet me at the venue in a state they had yet to perform (MI) and was always prompt at responding to communication and meeting when we had to meet to review plans. The best part about it though, is this band is self sufficient and it is a company you can trust. When Steve says, "it's your day, relax and it will be alright"...he means it. These people honestly just want you to have the best day of your life. As the entertainment for 200 people...they were the least of my worries that day. This band is comprised of SUCH nice people, and the talent is out of this world. People were chanting "one more song, one more song" at the end of our reception because they were having so much fun. My husband and I had a blast coming up with the playlist for the wedding! Their range, and again talent, is so amazing...they literally play every genre (and rock it!) I was honestly so sad it was over because I had loved working with them and laughing and coming up with cool ideas for the wedding and reception. They even surprised me by learning one of my favorite songs! If you want an unforgettable reception for your guests that people will talk about for the years to come, hire this band. You will NOT be disappointed. The cost was extremely reasonable for the entertainment...again, every member of this band is extremely talented. Thank you again to Steve and The Kingfish Band. I am trying to come up with another reason to get 200 of my closest family and friends together so we can party all over again!!!

We had Kingfish play at my daughter's wedding in August. They surpassed our expectations to the nth degree. We have had so many compliments on the wedding but especially on the band. They knew just the right songs to play at the right time. They also played at a volume that was loud enough to dance to & have a great time but also at a volume for those who chose not to dance (very few) to carry on conversations with no problem. I can't recommend this band highly enough because they were truly awesome!

The Kingfish Band was awesome! They kept the dance floor packed all night and not just the younger crowd. They played a great mixture of songs to cover everyone. Even when the band was on break the DJ kept the music going. They learned 5 extra songs of our request for FREE. They were very professional and couldn't have run the night any better. At one point the lead singer was helping our venue pour champagne at the head table. -A real class act- I haven't stopped hearing great things about them & our wedding was a month ago! The Kingfish Band was the highlight of our wedding reception. They kept our guests of all ages dancing through the entire night. We are still receiving compliments two months later on how great our band was. Steve is the perfect mix of fun and professional and shared in our excitement through the wedding planning process. He made everything stress free and was always available for questions. Steve was very accommodating and even took the time to drive up to our venue in Wausau, Wisconsin to meet with us. The band took the time to learn some of our favorite songs and they sounded amazing. Everyone at our wedding was extremely impressed and I would highly recommend The Kingfish Band.

They are completely professional, did everything they said they would do and more. We are still getting compliments on how great the were.

Our wedding would not have been the same without The Kingfish Band! We were very impressed from the time of initially inquiring with Steve up until the night of. Steve is really great to work with, very organized, professional, and knowledgeable on lots of wedding stuff. We were able to meet with Steve multiple times to go over the details for our big day and also see the band preform. The band was full of energy and really made our wedding a great party! Our friends and family remarked at how great the band was. Guests of all ages enjoyed dancing to the wide array of songs. They were willing to learn new songs for us and also provided DJ service during the break. I am already thinking about what event I can hire them for next. Don’t think twice about hiring them, you will not regret it!

I heard about Kingfish from a women that I work with. She suggested them because they played at her sister's wedding. She said the "dance floor was full". So we went to see them at a nearby gig to assess it. They opened with ZZ Top, Oasis and I believe Rick Springfield. We loved the range and knew it was the band for us Although neither of those songs made our approved playlist as they had so much music to pick from! Kingfish more than exceeded our expectations. Stephen the lead singer was my main contact. He was easy to communicate with and provided a lot of great suggestions to make the whole day go a lot smoother. We opted to also have them provide the ceremony music as well. It was incredible. Hearing them sing and play the songs acoustically made the ceremony. The dance - People that rarely dance were dancing! Not to mention the large dance floor was full. It was so much fun to see and all the feedback from our guests was a resounding - they are so good! They DJ'd music during their breaks, which was also widely successful. I went back to work and told the girl that suggested them - that it was even better than I imagined. I would recommend this band to anyone that is down for a good time, with a wide selection of music to choose from, with talented musicians.
