About this vendor
A wedding is such a special day for couples. They’re not a one-size fits all occassion. The Land’s team endeavors to co-design wedding experiences that bring together friends and family in the form of a unique and memorable retreat set in the backdrop of California’s majestic wilderness.
From our amazing Love to Table kitchen that prepares, locally sourced meals from our 5 acre garden and surrounding farms, to our mocktails and wellness elixirs, each step of the experience is elegant and loving.
Yoga classes, tea ceremonies, music, meditation, guided hikes, and cooking classes are all part of the magical weekend experience of a wedding on The Land.
We have an in-house wedding coordinator and production staff, and collaborate with musicians, florists, and other artisans to round out the talent.
At The Land, our ethos is to build the future of a socially connected world, which we believe means having connection with all parts of yourself, your environment and the people in it. We are a retreat center that values being present to the intimacy available in every moment. We approach weddings from this place of eyes-wide-open-intimacy.
We have a few guidelines that help create the conditions for us to sink into a socially connected world: we are an alcohol-free property, and all attendees have to be an adult who is at least 18 years of age. We understand that this experience is not for everyone, it’s for couples who desire an out of the box celebration that is memorable for years to come.
The Land only does four weddings per year, and we ensure that they are incredibly unique, intimate, and memorable. You are not simply signing up for a wedding venue, you’re saying yes to a customized experience that reflects who you are and how your love feels. We have an in-house wedding planner and coordinator, and a full-service team dedicated to bringing the exact vision of your wedding weekend to life.

My wife Katie and I were married at The Land in June 2018. We had dreamed of holding a wedding in the midst of tall redwood trees; in a place where our guests could get away from the hustle and bustle of life, meet and reunite over bonfires and during hikes in the woods, all while being comfortable enough to not have to "rough it." We had trouble finding a place that fit that bill, until we stumbled on The Land. We kicked off our wedding weekend with an outdoor feast under an enormous ancient Magic Tree whose cousins must have inspired Tolkien. The next morning, many in our wedding party practiced yoga at sunrise in a beautiful garden. That evening, after our guests had spent the day hiking, swimming, and relaxing, we were married in front of that same garden with the ridges of Anderson Valley providing the backdrop. The Land staff cooked us delicious gourmet feasts not only on our wedding night but all weekend long--our guests raved to us about the food they had eaten for weeks after the event. At night, most of our guests stayed in cabins and comfortable houses on the property, but many of our guests were practically competing to be able to sleep in "glamping tents" that The Land had set up under the stars. Most important, Bob and Shannon and the entire staff welcomed us like family. We never felt like we were interacting with a business. We felt like we were joining a community. We're so grateful to have joined that community and to have memories of a weekend that we will cherish forever!
We got married at The Land in July 2018 and in short, it was a spectacular venue. The Land exceeded our expectations and helped create the ideal weekend. We wanted a venue that could accommodate all of our guests for three night so we could really bunker down together. The Land was the perfect location to forge a community that lasted more than one night. The cabins were beautiful, clean and the layout could be altered to fit our head count. There are a million different locations to use on the property itself (we got married in the garden, which I couldn't recommend more highly). The swimming pool and watering hole were amazing places to congregate during the day. There were surprises around every corner - animals and great hikes etc. The staff at The Land was also incredibly easy and enjoyable to work with. I would recommend The Land a million times to anyone looking for a wedding venue or for that matter any weekend event where you want to evoke a community and creative spirit.
We hosted our wedding at The Land and could not have been more happy with the entire experience. We wanted to have our wedding in the Anderson Valley area and chose this unique property because it meant we could host nearly 70% of guests on-site in a combination of houses, cabins, and platform tents. The property, nestled in the valley and surrounded by redwood forest and rolling hills, was an idyllic setting for our 3 day wedding weekend celebration.
The staff at The Land worked with us for over a year to help us pull off a truly magical event. We catered the rehearsal dinner, reception dinner, and farewell brunch through the Land, and the food was delicious--unpretentious, fresh, farm-to-table dishes like grilled steaks and veggies, blueberry gluten-free bread budding, frittatas, and unbelievable apple pie.
Our guests loved staying on-site, many comments on the incredible hospitality of the staff, the good foods, and comfortable accommodations. They also enjoyed full use of amenities such as the yoga studio, the outdoor salt water pool, petting the friendly goats, and hiking on the many nearby trails.
We are so grateful to have found The Land to host our wedding, and we could not recommend it highly enough as a event venue.
We hosted our wedding (and all our guests!) at the Land. It was incredible. Bob, Shannon and team were spectacular! Our guests are still raving about the delicious food, beautiful landscape, and cozy lodges/tents. From early morning bonfires to late night dancing, the Land offered us a down-to-earth yet romantic setting to tie the knot!
We'd do it all over again if we could!
