ren. But the event hotel staff is less amazing--which was surprising to us since The LINE is a day-to-day hotel. Our guests who booked exactly within the dates of the room block had no troubles, but the guests who booked shoulder dates within the room block had issues. That basically meant that all of our parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, and cousins had problems reserving rooms with The LINE, despite following The LINE's instructions for how to book shoulder dates. The LINE entirely missed one reservation, and I truthfully don't know exactly how many reservations they got the dates wrong for--I'd say at least a dozen rooms. And the only reason I found out was because some guests called to double-check their reservations. I raised this issue with The LINE every time I heard about it, and while they were apologetic and promised it would get fixed, it kept happening. I was getting phone calls from family members as close as two weeks out from the wedding about this repeated problem. It doesn't seem like other couples who booked this venue had this issue, so I hope it was just a one-time problem for our wedding. But either way, I was not especially impressed with how The LINE handled my concerns. The reservations were really such a headache. And one small quirk of The LINE worth a mention: the food is outstanding (get the hush puppies!!), as the reviews say, but you can't do the taste test until long after you need to know the entree options to send to guests in their invitations. You also don't get to try everything on the menu and pick your favorites, which I thought was a little odd. For example, our package included 5 hors d'oeuvres, 2 entrees, and 1 first course, and we were only able to taste test 5 hors d'oeuvres, 2 entrees, and 2 first courses. Thankfully we liked the entrees we picked ahead of time and enjoyed all of the hors d'oeuvres that we picked for the taste test. But, all of that said, our day-of went smoothly (again, Lauren's great!), and I suppose that's the most important in the end. The LINE is an incredibly convenient place to get married. You don't have to rent much furniture or book too many outside vendors, and the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all happen in one building. It was also nice to run into guests in the hotel lobby and grab a drink with them at the hotel bar.

ks, to the service staff, to the overall experience. We had our ceremony in Carina, our cocktail hour on the rooftop, and our reception in Banneker. Each space was perfect. Carina made our ceremony intimate and simple. We had the most perfect weather on our wedding day and the rooftop was an experience for all of our guests to remember! And we turned Banneker into a big party with non-stop dancing. Lauren was amazing to work with. Her expertise and responsiveness was beyond helpful especially when I was starting to get fatigued with planning. The service staff on our wedding day were incredible. Every guest said that they were well taken care of by the entire staff!! I wouldn't think that that would be something guests remember, but they absolutely did. We didn't have signature drinks, but our guests still said that the drinks were SO good. We loved their selection of alcohol! The hotel staff treated us and our guests so well upon arrival and made sure to take care of us. I can't thank The Line DC enough for turning our simple wedding into a memorable one. It truly is such a special place.

It truly was a luxury experience through and through. Lauren R. and her team were sure to incorporate special touches the whole weekend to make my husband and I feel like guests of honor at the hotel. Our rooftop ceremony gave our out of town guests the best view of DC and the reception in Banneker ballroom was elegant and the perfect space for an epic dance party. A huge perk is that the hotel is dog friendly and our pup was able to join us during the ceremony and stay at the hotel with us during wedding weekend! We could not be more pleased with our decision to host our special day at the Line. We are still on cloud 9!

n Carina, we had cocktail hour up on the roof, and the reception was in Banneker. We were also able to use the mezzanine for the brunch the next morning, which was really amazing. Lauren was a wonderful contact to work with, she always answered my questions in a timely and enthusiastic manner, always super helpful. I loved how inclusive the wedding package was, it make the planning process so smooth. To top it all off, the food was amazing. It was so special to have nearly all our guests staying at the hotel as well, it was comforting to know that guests from out of town could be seeing the city but only have to go upstairs at the end of the night, it was also convenient for the bride and groom as well!

The team - especially Annie - went above and beyond more times than we could count. There wasn't one aspect that we weren't able to personalize and make our own - never once did we pitch an idea where the answer was "no", but rather it was always a "absolutely - this is how we can make that happen!" After all the changes of plans, unexpected twists, and even unpredictable weather, The Line team was a dream to work with and we can't recommend them highly enough for any and all events. The food and service were 5 star. The bartenders were fabulous. Annie was literally a superhero. And even the hotel staff seemed to provide what we needed before we even got around to asking for it. If you are at all considering getting married at The Line - do it! Our wedding day was literally perfect and we owe it all to Annie and her team.

Once we decided The Line was a great fit, she transitioned us to working with Annie who was also a delight to work with. Annie was flexible with us as COVID threw a few wrenches in our original plans, and was communicative and helpful along the way as we planned something relatively last minute. Day-of things were easy, and stress free and the staff at The Line were all so kind to us. Shout-out to my bud Kenny at the front desk who went above and beyond to ensure we were all well taken care of. Finally, the food and drinks were phenomenal. Our guests were thrilled with their food options, which for us made the whole evening that much more enjoyable. They were also accommodating of the few dietary restrictions our guests had, and made sure they were well taken care of throughout the meal. Looking forward to going back and spending an anniversary with them in the coming years!

ent with just immediate family, I didn't look anywhere else except The Line. I have stayed in the hotel before, and am a huge fan of the architecture and style. We got married in the Monument Suite, which was absolutely beautiful. There are so many little details in the room that make it truly unique for a hotel space, plus the view from their giant balcony made for a great backdrop for our ceremony. Annie, Erik, and the rest of the team were amazing and did a great job managing my many requests to make the day run smoothly. I had a lot of specific needs, including the ability for the room to comfortably accommodate my father, who is in a wheelchair, and my sister-in-law, who has celiac disease. The team was able to accommodate all my requests and made the day super easy for me. I wanted to give a special shout out to the chef. I've eaten at the line before, but they really outdid themselves for this meal. As I mentioned, my SIL has celiac disease, and they had separate options for her at each level of the meal. They even did onion rings and desserts for the table that were gluten free, and they were delicious. I'm not usually partial to GF snacks, so was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed these! I had a lot of weird dinner/booze requests due to some picky eaters, so was really appreciative at how they took them all in stride and were able to create a delicious meal that fit everyone's tastes. My aunt also arranged for a champagne toast, and they had everything ready to go the second the ceremony was over, so I definitely appreciated that. Last of all, the team did a great job of ensuring COVID precautions were taken. The sanitation piece was handled so smoothly that it was easy to forget that we were in a pandemic except for the hand sanitizer, masks, and social distancing signs. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding, definitely check them out!

This was followed by a gorgeous ceremony, cocktail hour, and a spectacular dinner overlooking AdMo and the mall. We then danced the night away on a perfect September evening. Most importantly for us, the Line team ensured that all precautions were taken, with masks, hand sanitizers, and helpful reminders around the hotel about social distancing for the safety of our guests and their staff. Their safety instructions were clear and easy to follow. We feel so incredibly lucky that we could safely and joyfully celebrate such a beautiful occasion in these uncertain times. Thank you Annie and the whole Line team. You made our mini-wedding the dream wedding!

n wedding in summer 2020, and then COVID happened…Forced to push our large celebration out a year, my fiancé at the time and I did not want to wait another year to get married. We live in DC and wanted to do a small church ceremony with our immediate families to make the most of the situation. Little did we know our small, intimate COVID wedding would turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Originally, we were looking for a room for the girls to get ready and for us to stay on our wedding night, when we found the “Monument Suite” online. The pictures blew us away and a plan began to form. We would have a trendy place for the girls to get ready and place for us to stay – but also an area where we could have a cocktail hour, seated dinner and dancing – all from the safety of one “hotel room” at an reasonable rate. The suite has a large formal dining room table big enough for 12 and a rooftop terrace with completely uninterrupted views of the monuments, as the name implies. The property is trendy and tastefully decorated with cool accents throughout – making for great wedding photos. Tactically, this monument suite seated dinner would be great for groups of 8-12 and even with larger gatherings, you could have many more people out on the terrace (in the ~30 people range). The wedding planning team at the LINE were very accommodating and have a range of options outside of this suite, to fit each situation. They worked with us to develop a menu that accommodated multiple food allergies and helped put our minds at ease with COVID. They were responsive to our questions and willing to work with us in these unusual times. The table was set while we were at the ceremony and we arranged so that only one server, always masked, would bring the multiple courses throughout the night. This allowed us to feel safe throughout the evening, but still receive food/drink service commensurate with the size of our small gathering. The service was impeccable from start to finish. The food was delicious with generous portion sizes. We opted for the “family feast” which allowed for us to try a variety of dishes with multiple salads, sides, main entrees, and desserts. We had so much fun and learned that small weddings are actually great. Rather than focusing on hosting dozens of extended family members, friends, and significant others, some of whom we’ve never even met – we were able to spend the wedding night with the people who are the most important in our lives. It was less stressful, enjoyable, and truly memorable. We enjoyed many of the things you think of in a wedding reception – a cocktail hour, excellent dinner with toasts, the first dances, and partying too late into the night. Despite living blocks away, we had never ventured inside the LINE and realize now that is truly a DC gem hidden in plain sight. We will be back, perhaps for a staycation or hosting an anniversary party, and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Because the majority of our wedding party was from out of state, it was important to secure accommodations nearby if not at the hotel. It was great working with The LINE to block off several rooms for our guests to stay there that weekend. One of the best part of our wedding day was the cocktail hour on the rooftop. It's an incredible view of the DC skyline and we were fortunate to have a stunning sunset that night. The food was delicious, dinner service was exceptional, and the hotel staff throughout the weekend was gracious. Annie was a pleasure to work with from start to finish!

Annie went above and beyond to make the planning process, the day of, and entire weekend perfect in every way...questions always answered quickly with incredible attention to detail and seamless coordination with all of our vendors. You will love having your wedding, or any other event here...just make sure to take their advice and order enough whiskey bowls, a huge hit!!!

We knew right away it was the place we wanted to be standing in to exchange our vows. Along with having a venue that beautifully encapsulates modern elegance, the event staff (Cameron, Annie, Kimo, and Kathryn) made the entire planning process easy with how friendly and accommodating they were. On top of all that, our dinner was the best wedding meal we’ve ever had (not being biased at all). Our wedding was truly a dream!

hem. We had a group of about 132 for the wedding and wanted to do the ceremony on the roof and reception/dancing in the ballroom. We were THRILLED with how Annie and Karen built a package to our needs that included a feast-style dinner, champagne wall, family owned wine requests, late night snacks and a huge out of town presence with 35+ rooms booked at the hotel. Annie was on our site coordinator and was AMAZING. We were thrilled with how she rolled with the punches, understood what we wanted, worked with our vendor team and ensured that every aspect of the day was absolutely perfect. Honestly, we can't even imagine the day differently as the LINE was perfect for our modern, classic wedding with a centralized location in DC. My husband and I care deeply about food and it was SO important to us that we didn't have re-heated food that everyone rolls their eyes at as they come out. We loved the curated, perfect food that was fired as we ate it and was truly phenomenal. We have been to many, many, weddings and by far we had the best food of them all; our friends and family still talk about it to this day. In addition to the hotel being photo-ready, it was just an absolutely perfect day, venue, staff and details for our wedding day.

It was very special to have all local food, especially for out of town guests. Finally, it was so lovely to have everything in one place. The Brothers and Sisters bar was a hot-spot for Friday and Saturday night after parties and it was so fun running into guests in the lobby.

Little did we know the staff would be just as excellent and flexible. We worked with Annie Schmidt to put together a rooftop ceremony for 120 guests, with a reception in the ballroom, featuring a mariachi band and DJ. The lead up to the wedding was stress free - with emails being returned within 48 hours and being able to meet in person whenever we asked. As our bridal party settled into our hotel rooms on wedding day, The Line hotel team surprised us with welcome notes and made our stay warm and easy. Multiple guests commented on how delicious the food was - both cocktail hour and dinner. And of course the drinks flowed all night, which everyone appreciated! We could not be more happy with how our special day turned out!

The staff at the LINE was most gracious, polite, and accommodating during our whole stay from the front desk to Richard and the rest of the catering staff. The food, especially the appetizers served during the cocktail hour, were delicious and the bar staff was quick and made excellent drinks the whole night. They were able to work around dietary restrictions, were flexible on last minute changes, and even allowed for kids’ meals. Even though it is a busy hotel, during the event our guests did not even realize it. By the way if you are staying there, the rooms are very nice with local touches throughout. Many guests came up to us during the evening and commented both on the venue itself as well as the excellent staff. We worked primarily with Annie during the planning and her attention to detail throughout the months, weeks, and days leading up to our wedding were no small part in its success. We cannot thank her enough for all the hard work.

We worked with some amazing staff (shout out to Kyleigh, Richard, and Karen)! SO easy to work with them - they were very attentive and the wedding day turned out perfectly. We had a day of coordinator but that was mostly because we were using multiple spaces within the hotel/ venue. We had about 150 guests and all of them had their jaws on the ground seeing how beautiful the rooftop ceremony view was and how delicious the food was! The cocktails were great too - no long lines and the servers were all very quick and thorough. Honestly, my husband and I are really sad it's all over and would love to do it every year. Also getting married in DC is great because you have three airports nearby and ubers galore. Super easy for guests to get here!

ever planned a wedding before or a party for 200 people, it was nice to have their help along the way. Our wedding weekend could not have gone better. From the front desk, to the people who worked the reception, to the kitchen, it was all so elegant, delicious, thoughtful, and really top notch. We were able to enjoy our weekend and really not stress the small stuff. We had guests comment that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. Their attention to detail is spot on! I would highly recommend having your wedding at the Line DC!
