The Little Ocean Events

I truly wish we never would’ve booked this venue to begin with. The owner was not friendly even when we originally booked, but we went ahead with it anyway. We booked this venue a little over a month or ago for 11/5/22 at a discounted promotional rate. We paid in full upfront via Venmo. A few weeks later, due to unforeseen circumstances, we needed to cancel the venue. At first we were told that discounted rates were non-refundable, however the signed contract that I have states that as long as the notice we give is more than 180 days from our event date, we are entitled to a refund in full. We were informed that our refund would take up to 180 days to be received for “tax purposes” and would be refunded via check. I have also requested a receipt for this refunded transaction and have had no further communication or follow ups from this venue. The owner of this company is less than pleasant to correspond with. She was not once pleasant and short with her responses (I should have taken that as a sign.) Every time I reached out to her, I got the sense that I was bothering her. I have worked with a lot of vendors recently while planning our wedding and none of them have been this unfriendly. Beware when booking this venue!
