The Little Theatre was the PERFECT place to have our wedding! The space was a perfect canvas that needed little adjustments to create the perfect romantic feel we were going for! If you are looking for a very classic, elegant, vintage vibe this is your place! For the price, I feel like we got a great deal! Everything was taken care of with our vendors and our coordinator Shelby helped make sure everyone was on track for that day to go smoothly!
They were so easy to work with! They made sure I could set up my decor the day before and made sure no other events were scheduled in the convention center the night of our reception. Joe Dugdale is literally amazing!!!! He was so so helpful and accommodating! He truly was one of my favorite vendor contacts to work with!
Response from the Vendor on 10/04/2024
We are thrilled to hear that you had such a great experience celebrating your special day with us. Joe is a great part of our team, and we will make sure we share this with him!
This venue is just breathtaking. We loved working with Aaron- he made everything so easy. He was always quick to respond to our emails and made great suggestions of how to better utilize our space. Our friends and family from out of state loved that they could walk to the venue from their hotel and never go outside (skywalk or underground). We received so many compliments about our beautiful venue selection.
Any questions?
If you're looking for a breathtaking venue, the grand ballroom is it! Beautiful floor to ceiling windows that face the Kaufman Performing Center which make for amazing photos! Courtney and the staff were amazing to work with! We used Jack Stack for our catering service and they work REALLY well together, they take a lot of stress off of the bride and groom!
This is an absolutely beautiful venue but there were several issues on the day of our wedding. The venue booked a dance competition in the Grand Ballroom which would have been fine except only one of the two elevators was functioning. It took us 30 minutes to catch an elevator up to the dressing room due to the heavy traffic from the dance competitors. No one ever informed us that this could have been a potential issue so our ceremony ended up being delayed.
The day of coordinator and security also did not keep our event private and the dance competitors and family were able to mingle with our guests. Also, what the consider as a day of coordinator is just a person who cues the lighting- she performed no coordination whatsoever.
Overall, there was a lot of opportunity for the venue in regards to coordination. The saving grace was Linda Shields, the Aramark cater coordinator. She and her staff were fantastic. I just though, as a bride, it was my responsibility to share my experience and hope that no one else has this added stress the day of.
If you are envisioning an elegant, intimate, and classic wedding, look no further. The Little Theatre is a total hidden gem, and we could not have been more pleased with this venue from start to finish. We chose to work with Aramark, the in house caterer, and worked closely with Linda Shields during the entire planning process. She was amazing to work with, and was attentive to every detail we envisioned, and offered wonderful insight as well. The food was fantastic, and the bar was fully stocked all night. The venue itself is just unbelievably gorgeous, with the art deco chandelier and the many touches of gold and marble throughout the room and hallway. Our experience could not have been better, and we would not change a thing about our wedding day!
If you want a beautiful venue with amazing staff and a great central location to great activities in the downtown Kanas City area look no further! The Little Theatre is a gorgeous venue with plenty of room for dancing and mingling. The staff is incredibly! Friendly, helpful and makes sure you and your guests have the best time imaginable. You will love this place and I recommend it to everyone I know!
Beautiful, classy and classic!! A great price for all the assistance, beauty, perks and access to facilities. Such a great team and easy to work with. So happy I chose The Little Theater for my big day.
Beautiful wedding day! I can't say enough good things about The Grand Ballroom. Hillary, the Event Manager for the space is AMAZING! She literally was so helpful. While the space does not provide catering, they offer awesome vendors who can help. They are super accommodating and will above and beyond to make sure your day is super special. I would 100% recommend anyone to this venue!
I can't say enough good things about my experience with the grand ballroom for my wedding reception. First, the space is absolutely stunning. I had so many guests remark on how beautiful it was to have Kauffman in the background-it was pretty stunning to dance the night away in front of that view. Secondly the staff was hands down the nicest and most accommodating group of people I've ever worked with. Every person I interacted with was responsive, knowledgable and able to help me make my wedding exactly what I had hoped for. Finally, we were so impressed with the food! To be honest, I was definitely thinking it would be your run on the mill wedding food, but I had multiple people seek me out throughout the night to comment on how good their dinner had been. I would absolutely recommend the ballroom for a reception. It was above and beyond my expectations!
We only looked at a couple of venues before The Little Theatre and knew immediately that it'd be perfect for our wedding. The entire team was VERY friendly, accommodating and easy to get ahold of.
We had around 190 guests at our wedding and it didn't feel cramped. We had both our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception there. The ceremony wasn't long, so we had our immediate family sit in rows up front and guests sit at their round tables. We received good feedback from our guests since they didn't have to change seats or drive anywhere else and kept us from having to flip the room completely before the reception. Even after hanging signs, only a few people went up on the balcony besides the photographers.
If you're looking for a beautiful, historical, romantic venue for your wedding, The Little Theatre is perfect for you!
I loved this venue! It was beautiful! The coordinators worked it out so I could have my ceremony and reception here. The only problem was that they scheduled a huge bridal fair the next day, so they were in a rush to get all of our wedding stuff out. They even threw away my veil after the wedding :(
This ballroom is absolutely beautiful! Floor, walls, ceiling, everything is marble! It also has a second floor. The room itself is so beautiful that it doesn't need much (if any) decoration, which saves a lot of time and money. I would recommend this place! It's gorgeous!
Great space for the cost! Only downfall is that you have to use Aramark (the convention center’s cater) for the bar and those are stiff prices. Per person for 4 hours of open bar was $25 plus tax and 20% gratuity. The room is just beautiful though and the rest of the convention center makes for great photos! The Little Theatre staff is very responsive, helpful and prompt you on when it is time to make a decision. Our wedding was on a Saturday and since there weren't any events booked before us, we were able to get in on Wednesday and set up. It was kind of a pain to have to undecorated everything the night of the event... but you'll run into this in most places.
I had my wedding reception at the Little Theatre. They were very willing to meet outside of normal business hours, and promptly replied to emails. My only complaint is that my event coordinator had to find a replacement coordinator the week of the wedding. However, you would never have known the difference. (But the week before your wedding this seems like a stressful near disaster). One thing that is unfortunate is that you have to go through their preferred caterers. The caterers are not cheap! Look at them before you agree to have your reception here.
I am so happy I found this place for our wedding! I can't say enough about how beautiful it is even without all the flowers and decorations on the actual wedding day. Everyone we worked with was super nice and accomodating to our needs.
If you're looking for something off the beaten path that doesn't cost a fortune in KC, check out the Little Theatre downtown. Staff was amazing, could get in the day before to set up, totally accommodating and beautiful ambiance. Only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because you have to use their in-house alcohol provider and they weren't as friendly and accommodating. Could have been a little better there, but it wasn't a huge deal - but if I had to pick one thing to complain about, it would be that.
My husband and I LOVED the Little Theater! It's a great, unique, ornate room. Very little decor was even needed since the room is beautiful on its own. The people were wonderful and very professional. We got so many compliments on the location and I loved that we had the facility for 6 hours since the reception absolutely flies by! I can't say enough good things, I was so happy we went with this venue for our reception!
