The Lodge at Ironwoods

200-person wedding. Lots of people spent time outside and look lots of nice pictures in front of the trees on the patio. It still would have fit comfortably even if it hadn’t been so nice out though. We loved that we could go look at the venue and test decor out any Wednesday night. We got a great group photo that the photographer took at the top of the staircase. The staff were always friendly, helpful, and response. Would recommend!

ar reminders of information and checklists that they needed filled out. We had a MAGICAL night at this venue. It was kind of hot, so they opened up one of the glass garage doors, and people trickled outside onto the patio. I like that you can visit the space any Wednesday evening if you want to check out things like how to set up a photo booth and where you can plug in the equipment. The stairs to make a grand entrance were really nice. We also used the long walkway for people to wave glow-sticks during our sendoff. I'd recommend this place!

and offer advice when we asked for it. We did find the set up/decorating time a bit restrictive and would recommend doing the 12 hour rental in order to allow vendors plenty of time to get in. The venue attendants the day of were great to work with and were happy to jump in and help with anything. The Lodge gave us just the feeling we were looking for! We draped bistro lights across the patio and opened two of the garage doors for a great indoor/outdoor party. We received many compliments and would definitely host an event there again. Lovely venue!

ue to Covid-19, but I cannot speak highly enough of how great the staff was during our plan changes. Katie always responded to me quickly and was able to answer all of my questions! One of my favorite things about this venue is how affordable it is. This is a wonderful attribute when you are budgeting for your big day. Even though our event was not able to take place, the service I received was wonderful and I would highly recommend this venue to future brides!

of the red barn, it was the vibe my husband and I were looking for. I would recommend doing a 12 hour rental from the venue because decorating time was TIGHT; you can only decorate the day of. However, the management there worked SO well with our caterer, DJ, linen company, and other vendors. You can definitely tell they know what they are doing. I would recommend this place to anyone! It made for the perfect day- and we had SO MANY compliments on our venue choice for the reception!

anted to. The manager was very easy to work with, knowledgeable, and gave us good advice about set up and what we needed to know leading up to the event. The only drawback is that you can only visit on Wednesday evenings and they have strict time restrictions, but the manager did make a special appointment with us to meet on a Monday when Wednesday wasn't going to work.

a park because it makes for some beautiful and convenient spots to take pictures as well! Staff was good to work with. Open houses on Wednesday nights are an excellent opportunity to plan out your layout/test decorations.

head table, and still had room for a dance floor and a photo booth corner. It was the perfect size. Our favorite part about the Lodge is the beautiful scenery outside. Our wedding party took all of our fun photos outside on the bridge, by the pond, in the woods, in the pretty tall grass, and in front of the red building. It was so nice to not have to drive all over for photos since the location of the reception was perfect! The staff from the City of Leawood was super easy to work with and were very good about sending me emails and updates when deadlines were coming up. They also have open houses on Wednesday evenings so we were able to go measure things, plan decorations, and see how things would look. It was super helpful. I would definitely recommend using this venue for a large wedding reception!

ovided me the wifi password before I asked for it. As silly as it sounds, many venues either don't offer wifi or you have to hunt someone down to get it. But it doesn't stop there, John really rolls out the red carpet for all vendors. He has thought of everything. He had carts waiting for me to haul my equipment inside, a little safety speech to read to the guests in the case of an emergency. Even when he noticed the bartender was running late and no one could get ahold of her, I saw him crack open a phone book and start dialing numbers. Oh, and from a DJ's perspective, the venue is gorgeous and perfectly laid out.. I'm looking forward to working here a lot more. I'd give it a one billion star rating if I could.

. They were so patient with me and answered every question I had even if I asked more than once. The only draw back is there is no on-site bridal suite. But i loved the fact that I could do all outside vendors.

The patio held more chairs than we were told (about 250 if you place them strategically and have a small wedding party)and provided the perfect back-drop for our ceremony. We loved it!

They had one representative from the venue there that night to make sure we cleaned up everything per their requirements. We went with the brown chairs that came with the venue. Had to rent chairs for ceremony outside as you cannot take chairs outside. Tables came with the venue as well as portable bars. Was able to bring in own linens, food, alcohol, etc... Great place to have our wedding as it's on beautiful grounds the The Lodge is beautiful itself.

do both! We can bring in any catering, florist, bartending services, and even our own liquor! The evening was wonderful and all of our guests had a great time partying the night away! Plus, the venue made a great backdrop for our wedding pictures : )

oom how you want it, allow you to bring in all of your own vendors, and are easy to contact. Cody Kennedy was always quick to respond to any questions I had (no matter how silly). The venue is open several days a month to visit and plan. It's SO Beautiful and has great opportunities outside for awesome pictures. We had many compliments on how beautiful the venue was . If we were to get married again, I would still choose this venue. My only complaint: It would be nice to have more getting ready space for the wedding party. (We had both our wedding and reception at this venue.)

about all the wood on the walls, but once you bring in all the flowers, chairs, etc, it really looks classy. i would recommend renting different chairs and or covers though, as the ones they provide are yucky brown folding chairs. we rented white ones and i think it really classed up the place. people were super easy to work with and it was great you could bring in your own alcohol. wouldnt have done it any other way.

The only thing that was difficult to work with, was the limited time we had to get in and out of the space. That being said, we could have bought a longer block of time. Unfortunately they only sell 8 or 12 hour blocks. We wish we could have bought something in-between (10 hours).

g red barn but once you walk inside you see the gorgeous space. The stairs that you can walk down as an entrance is a fairy tale come true! The outdoor patio was nice for guests who did not want to hear all the music or dance but just wanted to talk or smoke.

a country barn (set in a beautiful park, with lots of great photo backdrops!) and inside it is surprisingly elegant--there's even a staircase with a back entrance, which made for a perfect grand entrance!
