We had our wedding here the beginning of September. Everything went so smooth. Planning with Shari was easy and the get ready room for our wedding party was so beautiful! All of our guests talked about how awesome the location was. I loved being able to use the ceremony space by the lake and having all the locations around the lodge for our bar and activities. The team onsite checked in with us throughout the day as we set up and just before we left to make sure we were ok. I loved getting a sneak peek inside the house down at the lake. We were allowed to take pictures inside and can't wait to see them. I hope to return next year for our 1-year anniversary and stay in that house by the lake! THANK YOU ALL AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING! If you are planning an event, I highly recommend this space, you will love it!
The Lodge venue blew us away! The ceremony space by the lake was so beautiful and perfect! Pictures by there turned out AMAZING. The reception space inside The Lodge was just as amazing and our wedding turned out so beautiful. It had everything we needed, and was so easy to work with during our planning. I’m so glad we had our special day here!!
I held my wedding here on June 21st, 2024. It was amazing! We had an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. Shari was so wonderful to work with and quickly communicated with us.
Any questions?
When deciding what kind of venue we wanted we knew it had to have elements of outdoors and nature. We toured the venue with Shari and fell in love. We were okay with the venue only providing the physical space, tables, and chairs. This helped keep in line with our budget. Some things to keep in mind: You are responsible for set up/tear down of ceremony seating. The venue doesn’t have any staff other than Shari, the event consultant. If there is a wedding the day before your wedding you may not be able to rehearse at the venue. It would be helpful to have rehearsals scheduled prior to the week of the weddings and that a confirmed rental calendar should be given out to help coordinate a time for rehearsals since there are other events and multiple weddings in one weekend. When touring the venue we were told that golf carts are provided to help guests get down to the lake. This was wonderful as my husband has a prosthetic leg and we had elderly family members attending. Use of the golf carts was not brought up until morning of while we were setting up our decor. The golf carts are only available for a certain time as an employee park volunteer drives them and works a specific scheduled shift. Confirming and coordinating use of the golf carts (cart really, we only had one) ahead of time would have been helpful and alleviated any day of stress. Tours to prospective couples can be given during your time. We were not made aware of this till morning of during set up and were caught off guard by this as we weren't asked if this was okay - we were told it would be happening. People were coming in while we were setting up and while we were getting ready in the bridal suite. Because you are given “exclusive access” you should have the option to say no to tours being given during your rented time. There is a $150 cleaning fee that is added on and you are responsible for taking out all garbage at the end of the night. Our caterers thankfully handled the garbage in the kitchen. However, upon arrival to the venue at 9am for set up, my father noticed there were lemon and lime wedges scattered on the back patio and around the side doors of the catering entrance. He picked them up himself and disposed of them. There were also empty water bottles and some kind of stake left down at the lake ceremony space as well as small decor pieces left from the night before. Heritage Preserve is a public park and anyone can access the grounds but we had some folks try to come in and use the restroom (there are public restrooms right by the trail) and had some guys ask to fish the lake. Having some kind of signage that there is an event would be helpful so that those paying $4,000 don't feel encroached upon and patrons can be mindful that the space is being rented. Having a sign near the gate stating “Lodge Event from 9am to midnight” would be helpful. We were married one of the hottest days in June. The thermostats are locked (understandable) but never were adjusted once dancing started. Many of our guests left early because of the heat. It was 77 in the Lodge once dancing started.
If The Lodge continues to book as rapidly as it does Richfield should consider hiring someone as a wedding coordinator in addition to Shari the event consultant. We like that we can come back and visit during public access hours (while being mindful of weddings and events) and that the rental fee helps support the park.
We held our wedding at The Lodge in May 2024, and it was absolutely beautiful! The grounds are stunning, and the Lodge itself is spacious yet cozy. I love all the windows! It did rain and we had to move the ceremony indoors, but it turned out great with the fireplace as our backdrop. There was still plenty of picture options outdoors, thanks to the covered front and back patio area. The back patio was particularly nice, allowing guests to mingle outdoors even in the rain.
Shari was great to work with! Communication was great, she was always available to answer my questions. Never waited long for a response. She provided the floorplan for us, which was a big help and had all tables and chairs set up for us as well. Chris too! He was around to help with anything we needed on the day of. Can't recommend this place enough!
The Lodge was the perfect venue for our October Wedding. The lake side ceremony site with all the fall colors was beautiful and the perfect backdrop. The firepit was a great and fun addition to the reception. It accommodated our 110 guests perfectly while still keeping a large dance floor in the center.
From the moment we stepped into The Lodge on our first visit, we knew it was “The One” The venue truly did check all of our boxes-and although we visited in February we could already envision how beautiful it would be for our Autumn wedding. Our instincts proved to be correct. Inside and out the aesthetics were gorgeous. In spite of it being a rainy October day we were able to have our ceremony out by the lake (and thanks to Shari for her steadfast faith that we would!) but it would have been beautiful inside as well as the room was transformed into the most warm, inviting, magical space….our guests are STILL talking about it!
This spacious venue provides so much…updated prep kitchen, bridal suite and restrooms, ample and convenient parking and useable indoor and outdoor space. The rustic vibe and surrounding woods and lake provide an idyllic setting.
The Lodge also provides chairs and tables, does not require the use of their list of vendors (but will provide recommendations to those they have a good working relationship with) and really allows clients the space to create their vision.
We loved the fact that the rental fee goes back to the Preserve, Knowing that we helped support this beautiful resource was a great feeling.
And enough cannot be said about Shari Green the event coordinator. From the day we signed the contract she was always right there…always very responsive and helpful, giving recommendations, advice, guidance and reassurance. Her logistical help on our wedding day was priceless! We never had any nerves because Shari guided us through the process in such a seamless way.
Our wedding day was dreamy and magical and perfect, the fairytale wedding we didn't even know we wanted! And it is, in no small part, attributed to this beautiful venue and the amazing staff. If you are looking for your dream come true wedding look no further than The Lodge at Richfield Heritage Preserve!!
We have used The Lodge at Richfield Heritage Preserve for several work events and have found it to be beautiful, affordable and the staff is amazing. This would be an excellent choice for any type of event you may have from company meetings to wedding, birthdays, etc.
Shari added Christmas decorations for us which made the Lodge look very festive. She had plenty of fire wood for us, opened the Lodge promptly at 9:00 am, and personally called me after we left to inform me that I had left two items behind.
I can't say enough wonderful things about this venue. The event coordinator and the staff were easy to work with and attentive to details. The venue itself was beautiful, and the perfect setting we were looking for. The Lodge allows for both indoor and outdoor space for the reception. We had our cocktail hour on the back porch and the band played on the front porch with the firepit nearby. Dinner was served inside. The Lodge is tucked away in the forest which makes for a very scenic back drop. My husband and I would not have been happier having our reception here.
My wife and I got married and had our reception here back in October. The venue was perfect. The trails surrounding the lodge made for beautiful pictures. Shari was great to work with. I've suggested this venue to my friends who are engaged and one of them already reserved their day for next year. 10/10 would recommend.
The lodge at Richfield Heritage Preserve was the perfect place for us to hold our daughter’s wedding. Working with Shari was an unexpected experience. She was so helpful and accommodating. The venue itself looked spectacular when we added our decorations. We received nothing but positive comments from our guests. I highly recommend this wonderful location for any upcoming event you may have.
The perfect venue for our fall wedding! The leaves looked so beautiful! I am so happy we found The Lodge at Richfield Heritage Preserve. We really enjoyed the bridal room it was decorated super cute. I highly recommend The Lodge at Richfield Heritage Preserve to anyone looking to get married in nature!
I wish I could give more stars. This venue is literally a hidden gem in Richfield, Ohio. The venue site offers the most beautiful view for your ceremony too. We instantly feel in love during our walk thru. Our day came and Shari was extremely helpful and added her own little personal touch. The Lodge itself is absolutely breathtaking. I loved that we were allowed to bring in our own vendors. We didn’t even have to leave the venue because it’s on 300 acres! So many different areas to capture the most beautiful pictures. Thank you everyone at the lodge for helping in any way during our wedding, we appreciate you!
This is a great place for a wedding if you are looking for a nice outdoorsy venue. We had our ceremony outside overlooking the lake and it was absolutely beautiful. There are a variety of nice spots for photos featuring the lake, trees, paths in the woods, and old brick buildings. The lodge there was a great spot for the reception, and tables and chairs were included and set up for us. Although we could hire whatever vendors we wanted, they did have some recommendations. We chose to hire from that list and we were extremely happy with them all. Shari, the event consultant, was good to work with and even helped me set up and decorate a cake cutting table at the last minute when I hadn’t planned for one! We got so many compliments from our guests about the location being really nice. They even have a fire pit next to the lodge, but unfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy it because it rained by the end of the evening.
My husband and I are SO happy we found the Lodge for our wedding! The location is fabulous (central to all of our family and close to nearby hotels while still having a charming, woodsy setting) and the lodge itself was fantastic - with all the updates, we feel like we actually got an even better venue than we paid for! And compared to similar venues in the area, it was super reasonably priced, especially for indoor/outdoor space use, day-of use and prep time, A/C (a big deal for us), and flexibility with caterers/florists/etc. Bonus is that the property offers really stunning photo opportunities as well! Shari is such an amazing consultant: from our first meeting, we could tell that she cared about us and our event, was always easy to reach out to, and is very organized. I cannot sing the praises of the Lodge enough- it is a hidden gem here in Richfield and allowed us to have the exact wedding we dreamed of!
The lodge was everything we hoped for for our big day! Shari was fantastic in communicating all needs and helping day of! Her cleaning crew of volunteers were AWESOME before and after the wedding! We cannot thank them all enough!
Tables And chairs included in hall rental. Everything else provided by you, which is great to keep costs down!
The Lodge is a beautiful setting for a wedding. The grounds are beautifully tucked away in the preserve. The venue is versatile and was able to accommodate everything we envisioned. It was welcoming and incredibly easy to work with. It literally was the best day of my life. 🖤🖤🖤
My son's August wedding at the Lodge was perfect. The ceremony by the lake was beautiful, followed by a cocktail hour on the patio, and dinner and dancing in the Lodge. The event coordinator, Shari was exceptionally easy to work with throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding. She had recommendations for all the vendors we needed. She is friendly, professional, and experienced in the industry. Shari has great attention to detail. The Lodge had everything we were looking for in a venue. The size, location, parking, remodeled bathrooms and bride room, indoor fireplace, indoor and outdoor bars, a fire pit, and so much more. The grounds were meticulously manicured. The improvements that are continuously being made to the Lodge make this a venue that merits serious consideration.
Easiest 5 star review ever. We were about to book with another venue when we saw The Lodge pop up on our search engine, and I am so glad we scheduled a visit. The park itself is a gem, and the Lodge and its offerings continue to improve. However, the BIGGEST part of why we booked is Shari, the event consultant. She is incredibly responsive, professional, and knowledgeable with an incredible vision. Knowing my money was supporting the park was an added benefit. While we didn't have our ceremony onsite, we did host a cocktail hour on the patio and were able to take photos throughout the park. Our guests RAVED about the venue. The front porch/back porch situation is perfect, especially since it poured on our day. It still allowed guests to be outside. AND, we can visit the park any time we want to remember our special day. 10/10, would book again.
