Established in 1875, The Lucas Farm is a historic wedding venue in Currie, NC, where coastal appeal meets country style. Originally a tobacco farm, owners David and Rebecca Lucas Jones have transformed the cropland into a 450-acres private oasis immersed with longleaf pine. They invite you to make the most of their serene sanctuary and host a dream wedding to remember.
Situated 20 miles from Downtown Wilmington, The Lucas Farm is a historic wedding venue in Currie, North Carolina, effortlessly combining rustic flair with a coastal appeal. First established as a tobacco farm in 1875, this 450-acre haven now features elegant refurbished event spaces tucked behind lush longleaf pine. After two years of dedicated work, owners David Lucas Jones and wife Rebecca are pleased to offer their serene establishment to host your dream wedding.
Facilities and Capacity
Each setting on The Lucas Farm is designed to adapt to unique visions no matter the season. The Pecan Orchard offers a leveled place for a tented structure of any size with picturesque scenes that will delight guests and photographers alike. The Pecan orchard is also a magnificent place for an outdoor ceremony. Meanwhile, the beautifully refurbished barn is a masterclass in how to elevate a time-honored building while embracing its originality. The striking open-floor setting features tongue and groove pine ceilings and rough-cut timber walls, which come alive with rich lighting and elegant décor. Here, you can host up to 175 guests for the ceremony and 150 for a seated dinner. The main barn comes fully equipped with air conditioning, and heating, as well as access to a patio adorned with Edison lights and a fire pit and patio tables and chairs. The farm also has a back barn that can be used for a covered place for the wedding ceremony, a "rain" back up plan and a lovely spot for a rehearsal dinner. This back barn is lined with cedar siding and a tin ceiling as well as full electrical. Outside, you'll also find the charming converted Bar Shed, which features a surfboard bartop and coolers. The carriage house has been converted into a caterers kitchen and 2 restrooms.The 3,000 square-foot Farmhouse and 1,500 square-foot Schoolhouse offer get-ready homes for both wedding parties with plenty of light for catching every detail. The schoolhouse is available to rent for the night before and/or the night of event if available for an additional fee.

wedding planning. At the time of booking, they only held one wedding per weekend at the venue so we were able to arrive Friday afternoon and set up for my Saturday wedding. This was perfect being that my mom and I were DIYing majority of our decor. If the weather forecast looked grim, we also had the option of holding the ceremony in an extra facility in the back of the property. We were able to hold our wedding outside and rent chairs from Rebecca and David without the hassle of working with a rental company. I would definitely recommend this venue if you want to have a mid-sized wedding. We had about 120 people total at our wedding which was perfect to have enough room for tables and a dance floor.

ntly married at Lucas Farm and would give them 12 stars if we could! The venue is spectacular and full of history. There are many many beautiful photo opportunities from the farmhouse, barn, school house, the converted ham house into a bar or the rows of pecan trees. The possibilities are endless. We had about 90 guest and there was plenty of space. Our guest were in awe of how beautiful the grounds were and loved seeing where the 90s TNMNT was filmed. The owners Rebecca and David are amazing to work with! They are excellent communicators who respond quickly, helped us throughout the process of planning and were a big part of making our wedding day special and perfect . They have thought of everything! They both helped get the venue set up and pivoted when we had rain spending hours creating a beautiful indoor ceremony space out of their utility barn. They went above and beyond for us including bring pizzas from the food truck to the barn. We are so grateful to them and to have had the opportunity to wed on a spectacular property.
