Beautiful venue, accommodating and helpful staff. Thank you for making our wedding a dream!
This venue is magic. The garden is twinkling, green, warm and inviting, the industrial interior is unique and full of texture, from the gorgeous blue doors to the restored wooden beams. The Philly DIY wedding team was amazing, the event flowed so well and felt like a lingering dinner party in our own secret garden, complete with an on site pizza oven.
We couldn't have asked for a better location for our ceremony and reception. MAAS is gorgeous in the Spring and its garden makes for the perfect backdrop for an event or party. The team there is small but communicative, professional, and super helpful. They were able to recommend a day-of coordination team for us (shout out Philly DIY - highly recommend) and let us come and visit them and pester them with questions non-stop as we tried to plan our wedding throughout a global pandemic. My only regret is not knowing they'd have a pizza oven installed over the winter - we definitely would have utilized that! We didn't use the inside/upstairs area for our event due to covid-restrictions, but our 40 person event worked out more than perfectly in the garden. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend!
The Maas Building checked all my boxes for a wedding venue and the day of couldn't have gone better. I had a few reservations going in (worried the loft would be too small for seated dinner, not enough bathrooms, not enough rain coverage) but all my worries were for nothing -- it went perfectly. We had 100 guests and did a standing ceremony in front of the doors and a seated dinner in the loft. I was worried it'd be too tight, but it ended up feeling really intimate and comfortable, people still had plenty of space to move around and navigate. The garden in late September was absolutely stunning and it was so special to hear birds singing during our ceremony. Even our concerns about no rain coverage was proved wrong when a TORRENTIAL downpour started at about 9:45pm. We were hosting our dancing downstairs behind the blue doors which could've been disaster if it weren't for the canopy over the patio. It withstood some of the most intense rain I've ever seen and kept everyone happy and dry. Our guests had an amazing time and loved the venue. Communicating with Lauren was always a breeze. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend Maas to anyone else looking to have a small, unique DIY wedding. Really made my dreams come true.
The Maas is an amazing indoor/outdoor space and when you book it for your event you have the space the whole day. The venue comes equipped with tables, chairs, beautiful strung lighting, a canopy cover for the patio, and sound equipment. They allow you the freedom to select all your own vendors and DIY whatever you want. This worked perfectly for us since we wanted to make and source our own hors d'oeuvres and desserts, and we had barbecue delivered for the main dinner buffet. The owners and staff were incredibly nice, responsive and easy to communicate with. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend to any couple planning a more casual or partially DIY wedding.
The MAAS building certainly housed my dream (low budget) wedding! This venue is perfect if you’re looking for a DIY wedding with a huge head start. Not everything was perfect as the venue isn’t in the best condition and the owner isn’t great at communicating but we were able to decorate it beautifully and hide what we needed. We pushed the limit and had 108 people in attendance and it was TIGHT but the weather was perfect (October) so we were able to use the garden area to it’s full use. We did have major parking issues, again, miscommunication with the owner. We were told we could use the school parking lot and long story short the cops got involved and our guest had to move all their cars during our reception. Thankfully we had an awesome valet service (groomsmen). We did hire security as well as it’s not in the best area. Overall I still give this venue 4 stars because 1) we were able to make it our own 2) the pictures were incredible 3) you cannot find anything for their low price 4) we had the most amazing and special first dance as we were able to incoporate their baby grand piano.
If you have a low budget and an awesome team to help you then I recommend the MAAS building. Hopefully we paved the way for clearer communication and expectations and took one for the team for future brides!
The Maas Building was the absolute perfect place for our big day! This venue is completely DIY, all they provide is tables and chairs for 100 people. We had the freedom to choose all of our own vendors including caterer (they allow food trucks) and we could bring our own booze. The space is incredibly unique and beautiful but definitely comes with its challenges if you're up for it!!
The Maas Building and the staff that work there were AMAZING for our big day! We were able to visit the venue multiple time in preparation for our wedding and everyone was ALWAYS helpful. We were able to choose our own caterer and bring our own booze which was a big plus for us. This venue is completely DIY, which was exactly what we wanted, but you will need to provide your own linens, tableware, etc. And the price is so affordable if you're looking to get married in the city.
