About this vendor
The Majestic Downtown is unlike any other wedding venue in Los Angeles.
The magic is in the history of the arched windows, in the curve of the marble pillars, in the intricacy of the hand-painted ceiling. We are the venue for the couples who notice the details and want something utterly timeless and one-of-a-kind.
We recognize that everyone has different visions of their big day, which is why we are one of the few venues that do not require you to use our vendors. While we have an excellent in house bar and caterer, their services are an option, not a requirement. Even the crystals that cascade from the chandeliers are removable, so that we may transition from rustic to glamorous in the span of a couple of hours. The complete freedom to make your vision a reality is what makes us unique.

We are so happy we chose The Majestic as our wedding venue. Everything about the experience was amazing, and we truly couldn’t have done it without Ashton. She was so helpful, resp...
onsive, and accommodating every step of the way.
No matter what we needed or asked, Ashton was always quick to reply and made the whole planning process feel easy and stress-free. She genuinely cared about helping us create our dream wedding, and it really showed.
Our day was so special that we honestly wish we could turn back time just to relive the moment all over again. We’re so grateful for everything she did for us. Highly recommend The Majestic and working with Ashton.

We had our wedding at The Majestic Downtown on October 10, 2025 and it was truly the perfect venue!! The space is absolutely beautiful- timeless, grand, and full of character. The ...
high ceilings and historic charm made the entire day feel elegant and classic. We loved being able to have our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all in one place without it ever feeling crowded.
The open floor plan gave us so much freedom to design the space exactly how we wanted. The bridal suite was also a huge highlight- getting ready there with my bridesmaids was such a fun experience and having a separate grooms suite was a great bonus. The venue truly set the tone for a day that felt magical, timeless, and classy.
Our coordinator, Ashton, was absolutely incredible and played such a huge role in making our day stress-free!! She handled EVERYTHING- communicating with vendors, staying organized, keeping the timeline on track, and making sure every detail was covered. She is punctual, professional, and truly on top of things. Because of Ashton, I felt calm and supported throughout the entire process. She carried herself with such confidence and grace and it made all the difference. If you’re considering The Majestic Downtown and working with Ashton, I couldn’t recommend them more. Our day was everything we dreamed of and more 🤍
I recently planned a wedding at The Majestic Downtown, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The venue itself is stunning and offers a level of character and fle...
xibility that makes designing an event there truly seamless.
I also want to highlight Ashton, who was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is organized, responsive, and consistently stayed one step ahead during the planning process. On the event day, she made sure everything ran smoothly and was incredibly supportive with any last-minute needs. Her professionalism and calm demeanor made a real difference.
As a wedding planner, I work with many venues across Los Angeles, and The Majestic Downtown, along with Ashton’s partnership, stands out as one of the best experiences I’ve had. I look forward to working together again.

bsolutely stunning—elegant, timeless, and full of charm. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was the incredible support we received from Ashton.
Ashton was a total rockstar from start to finish. She was organized, responsive, and always two steps ahead, which made the planning process feel so smooth and stress-free. Every question we had (and we had a lot!) was answered with patience and care. She truly went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect—not just for the big day, but throughout the entire journey.
On the wedding day, Ashton was calm, collected, and so on top of everything that we were able to just relax and enjoy ourselves. She made sure everything ran on time, coordinated effortlessly with all our vendors, and even checked in with us to make sure we were feeling good and taken care of.
We’ve had so many guests tell us how breathtaking the venue was and how smoothly the whole day went—and we owe a huge part of that to Ashton and the amazing team at The Majestic Downtown. If you’re looking for a venue that’s not only gorgeous but backed by a caring, professional team, this is the place.
Thank you again, Ashton, for helping us create a day we’ll never forget!
We had our wedding at The Majestic two weeks ago and truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The venue itself is stunning—full of old-school charm with a timeless, ele...
gant feel. The Reserve is such a cool, unique space that added so much character to our day. Our guests are still talking about how memorable and different the location was!
But hands down, the best part of our entire wedding experience was Ashton. She manages The Majestic and also runs her own coordination business—which we hired her for (and highly recommend you do too!). Ashton is the definition of professional: responsive, organized, calm under pressure, and incredibly knowledgeable. She knows The Majestic better than anyone else and somehow manages multiple large-scale events weekly without skipping a beat.
She was so supportive of all our ideas, helped us explore vendors, and introduced us to people who knew the space well—which made a huge difference. Everything looked beautiful and went off without a hitch, all thanks to her!
We truly can’t recommend The Majestic and Ashton enough. If you’re considering this venue for your next event—do it!
The Majestic downtown LA was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! it is such a unique space, that is a blank slate if you have a certain vision but it's also so beaut...
iful on it's own it doesn't require much! Not only is it stunning, but the coordinator, Ashton, was extremely professional, helpful, responsive, kind, and overall a joy to work with. When we ran into problems with vendors, she was right there to help support and advocate for us and made everything run smoothly. She is amazing to work with and will help make your wedding so special! Overall, we could not recommend the Majestic and the team there enough!

h potential to be whatever you want it to be. The venue coordinator, Ashton, is an absolute pleasure to work with. She is very responsive and helpful to ensure your vision is brought to life. She let me come by for venue tours a few times with my wedding planner and my family. One thing to note is this venue is a LA City landmark and has a few strict requirements. I 100% recommend you having your wedding or any event here. Check them out on IG for more inspo!

and unique venue where we could celebrate and create unforgettable memories with our family and friends. Ashton was so professional and dedicated to ensuring we had the wedding of our dreams. She was so punctual, communicative, and flexible, each of which were critical in executing the wedding we always envisioned.

ho we also hired for her month of coordination services. Ashton and her team were incredible. I would hire Ashton 1000% times over. She was not only a pleasure to work with but she knows her stuff!! She made me feel so comfortable and I really was able to enjoy my experience because of her. I don’t even know how the day would have went if she wasn’t there. She was so incredible and she really delivered that vip 5 star experience. Also, The Majestic is absolutely stunning and it really wowed our guests! Thank you again Ashton!!

ame, majestic. Its beauty was just unmatched that we pretty much had our minds made up on our way to visit the second site (made it an easy decision for us!). My husband and I are so happy to have chosen this venue. However, our wedding would not have been such a dream come true without our wedding coordinator Ashton!!!
There are just not enough words to describe how amazing this woman is. After having found ourselves without a wedding planner with three weeks left until the big day, Ashton kindly swooped us under her wing and made our vision come to reality. This woman pretty much made our 300+ wedding happen with as little as 21 days!!! Everything came out even better than we discussed. Having her as a wedding coordinator was truly a blessing and quite frankly, a MUST when booking the Majestic. As the actual director of the venue, she is so knowledgeable of everything wedding and quite frankly hosting events at the Majestic specifically. The Majestic is beautiful and elegant but a beast of a venue, good thing there is Ashton to tame it! She knows all the ins and outs of the building and is so familiar with the wedding vendors that it made communicate with all parties just so easy. Coming from a bride who had a bad experience with another wedding planner, I can truly attest that Ashton is on a different level. The three weeks we were with her felt stress free compared to the months prior. Ashton is super supportive, creative, professional, and a true advocate. Most of all, she was compassionate. She makes you feel heard and ensures her presence is felt 24/7- which is important. When we say something, even just as an idea, she’s already gotten it written down on her notes. When we mention needing to do contact a vendor, she would already have the email drafted before the end of the conversation. She catered to us from the beginning of signing on with the Majestic up to even after the wedding!
We felt like king and queen to how much she catered to us honestly. Because of her, we were truly able to enjoy our wedding.
Amazing is what describes her. You can really tell that this is her passion with the way she goes above and beyond to make sure her clients’ vision comes true and that couples get to truly savor this wonderful experience. From the bottom of our hearts, we are so so so thankful for her!!!

loved every minute of it! The space was not only beautiful but the service provided was also amazing. I can’t thank Ashton, their event director enough for the help that she gave us. She made the whole process very smooth and got back to us quickly whenever we had a question. Planning a wedding is very stressful so I was super thankful to have been able to work with their kind and helpful staff like her. I highly recommend that everyone should get married here if they want a memorable venue with awesome staff!

was a pleasure to work with, she is amazing and very professional. She made sure everything went smoothly and was there for us every step of the way, and was so grateful for her work and professionalism. I seriously did not have to worry about anything because she communicated with my vendors and made sure everything went smoothly the day of our wedding. She was always in constant communication with me, and checked on me through the whole planning which put my anxious mind at ease throughout the wedding planning process.
Thank you so much Ashton and the entire Majestic staff

ough all of the history and showing us the beauty of the venue, and even showed us some nods to movies that had been filmed there (ask about Batman) She was our Coordinator as well and when i tell you I have never been to a wedding that had run so smoothly, the fact that it was ours, made it SO much better. Months later we still get so many compliments on the venue, the staff, and just everything. Ashton and her whole team were super professional and made our wedding of our dreams a reality!

ce we knew it was the spot. Ashton was always available and responsive from the day we inquired through the day we said I do (and even after). The incredible ambiance and open setup made our wedding day truly special. The feedback we’ve received from guests was “wedding of the century”. Could not be any happier. Thank you Ashton and Majestic for a truly magical experience!

enue coordinator, Ashton, was so helpful and made herself available to us pretty much whenever we needed. She offered recommendations for vendors and any other assistance we needed for our big day. She was thoughtful and you could really tell she cared about each of her couples and their experience. So big thank you to Ashton for making our experience so effortless and amazing!

with. She made our experience very enjoyable and was there to help answer our questions every step of the way. Our guests were blown away by how beautiful the venue was and the whole weekend was a dream. We couldn't be happier the Majestic and highly recommend for any Southern California wedding.
The Majestic really is what it is named - absolutely gorgeous and MAJESTIC. When walking in, it feels like I was transported back to a time where artistic magnificence and architec...
tural elegance were the norm. In the heart of Downtown LA, no one expects to find such a beautiful venue - one that is preserved in all its parts, but modernized to fit any bride's wedding dreams.
My husband and I had the TIME OF OUR LIVES at our wedding at the Majestic. It was able to fit all 300 of my guests without a problem.
The venue provides a blueprint program where you can construct your ideal wedding day set-up, which was SUPER helpful!
What really made the venue is the manager, Ashton. She is very professional, so helpful with referrals to vendors, and such an encouraging piece of the wedding puzzle.
I wish I could do my wedding all over again!!! It was the best night of our lives!!

completely mesmerized by the history of the building and all of the iconic movies that have been filmed there. It was an unforgettable experience for everyone and the best day of our lives! Majestic truly lives up to its name.

ing here and make it a full circle thing. With our wedding, our goal was to make it an amazing event - to ensure we really showhow magical the city can be to our family, friends and other loved ones. When we found The Majestic - we knew this was it! Not only was it located in a prime location, but it also was able to accommodate several hundred people (we have a huge guest list) AND it is SO GORGEOUS!! Honestly, pictures do not do it justice.
In the times we live in now, an amazing vendor team and venue team is so important. With regard to who we worked with from the venue - her name is Ashton. She's the Majestic's Sales and Events Director. You guys, she is SOOOO great to work with. And seriously - even our other vendors raved about her. Always professional, helpful, tentative and kind. We were really taken care of by her.
When our wedding came (1/1/2022) it was better than I could've imagined. The night was SO dreamy, we got so much great feedback from even the hardest critics in our families and friends on the vibe, how everything went seamlessly.. just everything!
I recommend any couple to take a tour as soon as you believe having a city wedding is your vision! I'm sure bookings are happening fast. If you're able to secure a date for this epic place, rest assured you're in good hands with The Majestic & Ashton :-)
This was an absolutely beautiful venue. If you are looking for something elegant without having to put too much into decorations this is a great place. Beautiful marble everything,...
gorgeous ceiling, and chandelier's on the lights. Ashton as absolute gem to work with. She was responsive, flexible and very accommodating. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about my experience. Having ort wedding here was worth every penny and we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Ashton was incredibly supportive and helpful through the whole process. She made herself available to us for all of questions and helped us a ton. We would recommend the majestic to anyone looking for an amazing wedding or event

made sure that our wedding was an amazing experience for everyone involved. She also was our day of coordinator which allowed us to really enjoy the day and make sure that the wedding was exactly what we wanted and envisioned. Ashton cared about our day as if it were her own wedding. We have no negative remarks at all the venue and Ashton where five star. I would recommend the venue and Ashton to anyone that asked me about the Majestic.
WORTH. EVERY. PENNY. We all know committing big bucks to a single day is stressful, and you want to choose wisely and have no regrets. We are BEYOND happy that we were able to have...
our wedding in a place as interesting, classic, and GORGEOUS as The Majestic.
In searching through a seemingly endless sea of options, and hoping for the perfect venue to embody our wedding vision, we stumbled upon The Majestic. Even a year later (our wedding was in December 2019), we are STILL hearing praise from many of our guests about how stunning the evening was. As both my husband's and my families are full of movie buffs, it was also so special and memorable celebrating our marriage where many famous movies and shows that we love were filmed.
The Majestic is also unique from other venues (such as hotel banquet halls), in that it is a blank slate for you to build upon (just see their Instagram!). We decided to embrace its 1920's charm and subtly decorate for the Holidays, and our pictures are just AMAZING. We were able to select our own caterer, video booth, everything. They even allowed us to utilize the inside of the famous vault to reveal our cake for the cutting. Very cool. We had our guests enjoy their cocktail hour exploring the entire Mezzanine and then all came down to the main floor for dinner and dancing. We even found out the morning of that (as we hoped) The Reserve (underground club) was available for pictures, so we were able to snap our "first look" and a few fun shots in the morning down there as well!
Ashton Alvarado was our Majestic representative, and she was SO fantastic. She made the whole process so smooth and really embraced our excitement. She was always very timely, professional, and would respond quickly to any inquiries we had. We feel so lucky to have worked with her.
My only grievance about the venue was that we had hired a food truck to come and serve burgers towards the end of the night and (despite being told it would not be a problem), the truck could only park in a place that blocked an apartment complex garage. As a result, the truck had to leave after only 30 minutes or so and my husband and I didn't even get to enjoy it. If your event requires such a vendor, I would definitely review the logistics in more detail with your representative in preparation. Additionally, the acoustics of the main room were a little difficult to manage, so make sure your DJ is well-versed in setting up the speakers to work with the venue.
Booking The Majestic is not cheap, but you'll thank yourself later for the memories of hosting a party in such an iconic and timeless venue and the stunning pictures your photographer will inevitably capture. ABSOLUTELY recommend!

y recommend this venue and to acknowledge The Majestic’s Event Coordinator, Ashton Alvarado. From touring the venue, to booking, to planning the wedding, it was a seamless, easy process. Ashton is so kind, and an absolute dream to work with. The cherry on top of everything is that we were able to get a refund on our deposit. We are so grateful! If we end up rescheduling, I will definitely be re-booking here. I highly recommend this venue and Ashton!

e you the flexibility to really make it your own with a beautiful canvas. Ashton Alvarado the event director was amazing. She accommodated us and really was so easy to work with. The majestic is a venue whether you want to go all out or if you want to be slightly budget minded but in a beautiful setting. The guests could not stop raving about the location and ambiance. This event does take some work as you have to do a lot of planning on your own but it’s worth it if you want an event that won’t be like every other event.
My husband and I had our wedding here recently, and unfortunately, this is not a venue I would recommend to any couple that is venue scouting for their special day. First, it’s imp...
ortant to know that choosing a venue like the Majestic will require a lot of work. The venue space is beautiful and has potential. But again, you have to do a lot of work to bring the beauty of the space alive.
Reasons I would not recommend the venue: the management company does not care about your event, even if it is a special event like a wedding. A lot of things went wrong the night of our wedding, which could have been avoided had management been on top of these issues. First, there was a simultaneous event at The Reserve, which shares an address with The Majestic and is jointly managed. We were not informed in advance that there would be an event, particularly around cocktail hour when our guests first began to arrive. The club-goers were using our valet line, which slowed down service. They were unfortunately also loitering in front of The Majestic entrance and harassing our wedding guests. Our security guards had to escort several of our guests inside because they did not feel comfortable outside of the building. If we were told in advance that this event would occur around the same time as our wedding, we would have taken additional security measures.
Second, the club’s bass was so loud during our cocktail hour that The Majestic floors were shaking from the event. We hired a lovely harpist to play at cocktail hour and unfortunately guests could barely hear her play. When we asked management about this issue after our wedding, they completely denied the issue and practically accused us of making this up. Ironically, we did get a hold of an e-mail admission from management acknowledging that the club’s subs are very loud.
Third, the floor by the vault was uneven and unstable. At some point, I witnessed our caterer’s staff remove our floral arrangement and the food on the table near the vault because our guests were worried the floral arrangement was going to fall on top of them. Thank goodness our caterer was on top of the issue and removed these items right away. Unfortunately, this ruined the night for guests sitting at that table, so they left the wedding early. When we asked management about this hazard after our wedding, they amazingly admitted they were aware the area near the vault was unstable but didn’t do anything about it because no one had complained. That is a frightening way to manage venue of this scale and size. Its obvious management does not have a proactive approach to fixing issues as critical and as dangerous as unstable flooring.
Fourth, the elevator got stuck during cocktail hour after our elderly guests were already on the second floor. The elevator didn’t work for the rest of the evening, so our elderly guests were forced to take the stairs down with the assistance of other guests. Our bartender and harpist were also forced to transport their equipment down the stairs, as well. We found out after the fact that our bartender injured his hand as a result.
I highly recommend choosing a venue with management that cares about your wedding and is on top of any issues to make sure your once-in-a-lifetime wedding goes as smoothly as possible. Sadly, this is not one of those venues.

pared to many of the weddings we've been to over the years. The exact qualities we were looking for.
Working with Ashton only amplified how amazing The Majestic is. From a wedding planning standpoint, we had some difficulties and challenges. Ashton was one of the few people that went above and beyond to help us get over those hurdles. We are very grateful to have met her and worked with her!

utely GORGEOUS! I am a big fan of chandeliers and I have never seen this many chandeliers that are so pretty.
We had to choose Majestic without any hesitation or doubt. It was the BEST decision we made!
From booking the venue to having everything set up - Ashton was extremely helpful. She is very fast at responding and was able to answer all the questions I have. I am very picky and make sure I ask A LOT of questions and she was able to address everything for me. As a bride, you tend to forget a lot about vendors and venue - but Ashton was able to make sure I'm on time on everything.
Our wedding turned out BEAUTIFUL! It was the wedding I have been dreaming of. Our guests were in awe of how beautiful the venue was! The chandeliers and the stairs are my absolute favorite from the venue.
Thank you Ashton for making our wedding the way we always wanted & for being so helpful!
If you want to have a memorable and dream wedding, you have to visit Majestic and have your wedding here! You will regret it if you don't!
The Majestic was the 2nd venue my husband and I visited. We had 4 in total we planned on visiting but after seeing The Majestic, the hunt was over for me. Although we visited duri...
ng the set up of a Samsung event, I could easily envision a beautiful and elegant night for my own wedding reception. Even with the building of another corporate event going on, the chandeliers and the architecture of the building alone made The Majestic be on the top of my venue choices. Pictures online are pretty but after seeing the venue for myself, I was in awe. And remember, there was some stuff going on during my initial visit, but it was still SO beautiful.
I had favorite vendors and mind and used several of The Majestic's preferred vendors. All of my vendors enjoyed working the site and said they had no issues. I believe a lot of this has to do with with th work of my wedding planner, Jenny from Valentine, and Ashton from The Majestic. Ashton made everything SO simple. I really appreciated the ease in communication with prompt replies throughout the process of planning for 6 months.
On the night of, one of the first of many compliments were about the venue's chandeliers and the ornate ceiling. Our guests continued to rave about the details of the wedding and the venue throughout the night and there after.
I wouldn't have changed anything about my wedding. I couldn't thank Ashton enough for making the process so easy for me and my husband.
My wife and I just officially tied the knot at The Majestic Downtown after being together for 11 years, and we’re still in awe with how amazing our wedding day was. We were engaged...
for two years prior to our actual wedding, so we had plenty of time to locate our dream venue. Visiting The Majestic early in the process made this an easy decision as we instantly fell in love with this beautiful venue. There are literally no words to describe just how stunning this venue is, from the detailed ceilings to the marvelous chandeliers, this is the PERFECT wedding venue. Literally every single guest marveled at how beautiful the venue is, and we’re still receiving non-stop compliments a full 2 weeks later. The name of the venue truly describes its exquisiteness. For couples on a budget (like we were), this is the perfect location because the venue itself is so stunning. We added drapery and lighting to give our day a special touch, but the venue alone is a great starting point (opposed to an outdoor location or empty hall, in which you’re essentially starting with a blank slate).
Lastly, we couldn’t leave a review without mentioning how AMAZING the venue manager is. Ashton Alvarado was a true joy to work with from the day we meet her, nearly 2 years before our actual wedding. Ashton was extremely responsive to every email, text and call as if this was her own wedding. From helping put together the floorplan/diagram to full vendor coordination, she truly went above and beyond in every aspect. Her passion, positive energy and calm demeanor brought so much ease to my wife and I, and we we’re so extremely grateful for her assistance throughout the entire planning process. Words can’t describe how critical she was to the success of our dream wedding, and we’re forever thankful for her making our dream wedding a reality.
Overall, if you’re looking for an indoor venue in the Los Angeles area that will have your guests in awe, I highly suggest looking no further than The Majestic. Not only is this venue a true gem, Ashton Alvarado will do everything in her power to make your dream wedding a reality. THANK YOU!!!!
Our wedding was a few weeks ago and we are still in awe about the venue. The pictures do not do it justice. There is just nothing like it. All of our guests were speechless upon ar...
rival. It captures the elegance and downtown LA feel that you are looking for. Ashton, the venue manager is the best. She goes above and beyond to make everything work perfectly on your special day. While everyone always says things will not go as planned on your wedding, everything in regards to the venue went perfectly. Wish we could do it all over again!
The Majestic was the perfect venue for our downtown wedding, especially with as many guests as we had! Ashton, the venue coordinator, was SO helpful and eager to work with us, even...
touring vendors for me if I couldn't make it that day. Cannot gush enough about her!
Guests loved the classy vibe, the mezzanine, the architecture. Was so glad we chose the Majestic!
My wife and I had our wedding at the Majestic in October 2018. The beauty of the space speaks for itself and if you are reading this review without having been there in person, who...
are missing out. Everyone who stepped foot into the venue complimented us on our choice. The venue is such a unique space, and it has such a cool history which people really enjoy hearing about. The only mark against the actual space has to do with the restroom in the bridal suite which opens onto a café and inexplicably has no lock on that end.
Ashton was easy to work with and very responsive. There was some initial confusion concerning the price early on, but Ashton cleared this with the venue owner, and from there it was smooth sailing.
If you are looking for a beautiful and unique event space, the Majestic is a great choice.
I dont even know how to express how amazing the venue was. I had my wedding June 2018 for 280 people, but with the help of Ashton(the event manager and our wedding planner), it ran...
so smoothly.
Finding the Venue: I went to 13 different venues before I found this gem of a place. I saw it on The Knott and the reviews worried me at first, until i realized they were from a while back. I decided to take a chance because the photos showed what my husband and i were looking for. I made an appointment and NO other venue could compare, i saw it and thought "HOW PERFECT" from the details in the ceiling to the 2 bridal suites, it all looked perfect. My mom convinced me to check out more venues about 2 more before i said "NO, the majestic is the venue," my husband agreed. So we placed a deposit, set the date, and from then on Ashton (who was fairly new to the venue) made sure that everything was running smoothly, even before we hired her as our wedding planned. We booked the venue March 2017 and I was so excited.
ASHTON: Throughout the process of the wedding planning, we lost our wedding planner due to her becoming ill and so we asked Ashton if she had the time and she accepted. My mom did most of the work since shes pretty much a control freak and there was only about 4 months left until the wedding. Ashton still did so much to make sure our day was perfect. Closer to the wedding ashton handled all of the vendors and helped with the setting of the church AND venue. She made sure that my husband and I had time for photos, alone time, guest time - everything, she made it all possible, i didnt break a sweat. ASIDE, from all of that, she came to the hotel room early and made sure the wedding party, myself, and my husband ate before the event. She created an entire itinerary of the day so we would NOT be rushed or forget anything and let me tell you, she followed it and so did our EMCEE. Guest would tell me "I have never seen a bride so calm and controlled" and i would reply "its because i have the best wedding planner and emcee." Even my mother was able to just mingle with the guest and party with friends and family - she NEVER has time to do that because she is the one always doing everything - it was amazing - SO THANK YOU SO MUCH ASHTON.
The wedding venue: I could not have been any happier and in love with how the venue turned out for the wedding, it was stunning. I don't know what else to say. My guest were in awe, i was in awe, my husband was in awe. EVERYONE said that the venue was perfect and it was. NOT ONE SINGLE COMPLAINT. I definitely recommend them and i highly recommend you to hire Asthon as your wedding planner. The wedding was on a saturday and she allowed our vendors to set up on friday night and pick up by no later than monday morning - it was great.
Many people worry about parking because its LA, but there is plenty of parking. My 2 best men would walk with our older guest to their car when they had to leave, but that was the biggest worry. Other than that, no one complained and everyone got to their car fine.
Another worry was the club/lounge downstairs, but it actually didn't cause any problems. We had a security guard who stayed at the front door the entire time. People would joke about going in, but they never did. I would go outside from time to time to get fresh air and no one bothered me, the people in line just congratulated us.
I could honestly write pages & pages about how awesome this venue is from what this place has to offer, besides its beauty (because let's face it, this place is beautiful beyond co...
mparison), to the person we were in contact with throughout our wedding planning, Ashton.
But, let's first get right to how beautiful the venue is. It really is a hidden gem you'd never know you'd pass by in DTLA. When my husband & I first walked into the venue, we were blown away by how beautiful it was (I can't say it enough). We loved the vintage & elegant vibe to the venue. The lighting fixtures, the architecture, & artwork on the ceilings provide all the decoration you need. We didn't need much decoration for our wedding. We let the venue itself provide it all. Our guests loved the venue, mostly because of how naturally beautiful it was.
So what we also loved about the venue was there was a place for everything, To the left, we had our ceremony space. Upstairs, we had our cocktail hour & downstairs to the right, we had our reception. The space was enough for the 240 guests we had. We also loved the hours we were given on our wedding day. We had the entire venue from 8am-2am, which gave enough time for our vendors to set-up & break down on the same day. We also didn't feel that we had to speed up things when we were planning the wedding day timeline. The thing we also loved about having the wedding here was the many opportunities to take pictures. The grand staircase leading up to the mezzanine were a big hit for pictures. We also liked that with the big space gave a lot of opportunities to play around with how to position tables, the photobooth, the dessert table, sweetheart table, etc. BTW, be prepared to forget about the rest of the world when the music starts playing. The music echoes around the entire place perfectly.
Other things to say: Bathrooms were maintained and cleaned by the bathroom attendants & the air conditioning was working just fine. The venue manager stayed on site the entire time to overlook things, which we loved, because my husband & I had to concentrate on our wedding and our guests. The venue also offered a security guard, which I definitely recommend having. Having this venue in the middle of DTLA means a potential for uninvited guests to come lurking around. Also keep in mind that they do not have a designated parking lot. Most parking lots around the venue do require you to pay for parking, but trust me, you can get past it. I also told my guests to carpool, Uber, Lyft, use their hotel shuttle cars, whatever. My guests had no problem with that. FYI, we did get 4 free parking passes to use for the parking lot next to the venue, which we gave to the guests that needed it the most.
Anyways, moving on to Ashton, the Director of Film & Event Sales & our contact person throughout our planning. She is so easy to work with, extremely sweet, organized, & professional across the board. She answered all of my questions & trust me, I had a lot. Some were even repeated, but she was understanding & patient with me. She helped me whenever I needed it without hesitation whether it was providing measurements around the venue, offering vendors for different services, and just being present whenever she was needed. She was amazing!
Choosing this venue was one of the easiest choices made throughout our wedding planning journey & I do not regret one bit of it.
BTW, it's kind of cool recognizing your venue on commercials, tv shows, & movies!
My husband and I had our December 2017 wedding at the Majestic Downtown. Our main point of contact for most of the planning process was Ashton. Despite the fact that we planned our...
wedding from across the country, only having visited the venue in person a handful of times, we felt that Ashton was very responsive, always getting back to us in a timely manner, and always very polite. We did experience a post-wedding misunderstanding on our part, but still Ashton and her team were responsive and very willing to assist us on the matter. The venue itself is beautiful; it is mostly a blank, open space. We especially appreciated the gold, detailed ceiling and the beaded chandeliers. The lighting is quite dim, especially in the evenings, but it lends to a very romantic atmosphere. Another good feature is the ability to have the space to yourself for the entire day. This really helps with set up and break down time for vendors. While the venue sits in the middle of Downtown Los Angeles, once inside you do not hear the outside noise, especially once music is playing. The feedback we received from our guests was all positive in terms of the venue and overall experience. We would definitely recommend that others consider the Majestic!
If you are planning an incredible day, then the Majestic is unlikely to provide an incredible experience. My husband and I got married at the Majestic last year. To start, we were ...
contracted to have access to the venue including the kitchen at 8am the day of the wedding. Despite the representatives of the Majestic confirming on multiple occasions that the venue would be cleaned and ready for us before 8am, the kitchen was not made available to our caterer until approximately 12pm. The kitchen was left filthy from the wedding the evening before so an individual from the catering team was cleaning the kitchen while waiting for Majestic’s cleaning crew to arrive (clearly not what I hired him to do). The caterer was never anticipating a 4-hour delay, but I don’t know who would. This resulted in an incredible amount of stress on the caterer causing his performance to suffer. Prior to our wedding day, we had detailed conversations with representatives of the Majestic about the air conditioning and elevator access to the second floor of the venue. One of the main reasons I booked the venue was because they had an elevator that would allow disabled family (i.e. our grandmothers) and friends to access the upstairs area during cocktails. The Majestic event coordinator who was there the evening of the wedding was unprofessional and made it extremely difficult to use the elevator as he would not share the key with my wedding planner and he was difficult to locate. As a result, my grandmother and other guests never made it upstairs to the cocktails. Regarding the air conditioning, we were told that the venue had functioning stand-alone units as well as central air conditioning. I was informed at least three weeks after the wedding that a representative of the Majestic knew prior to our guests arriving the day of the wedding that the air conditioning units were broken and they could not figure out how to fix them. My wedding planner nor my husband or myself were informed of this. The venue was insanely warm and guests left early because of this. Guests were wiping sweat from their foreheads all evening, I had sweat dripping down the back of my wedding dress during the ceremony, our friend who was pregnant was being brought ice packs for fear of overheating and my grandmother threw up at the dinner table. I should mention that it was unseasonably hot that day, but there was failure to make any attempt to remedy the air conditioning issue. The venue could have brought in fans or informed us and we would have done so. There is also an electricity issue in the building and we know this because the catering crew had to plate in the dark. Need I go on? The catering crew was struggling with the heat in the kitchen, which was even worse and the staff had to keep stepping outside for fresh air so they didn’t pass out. We also paid for ice as part of the contract and because of the heat the ice was melting faster than it should, so our wedding planner had to send someone to buy more ice. The issues are attributed to the venue and resulted in our vendors not being able to perform to their best ability. To top it off, somehow none of the personal items left at the venue by our vendors could be located. Believe me, I did many walk-thrus with and without my wedding planner during the many months of planning. I don't know how else to say it, so do yourself a favor, don’t book this venue.
We visited and researched countless places for our wedding reception (October 2017), but none hit the mark on what we wanted, until we found The Majestic, Downtown.

inding a hidden gem! You would never think it by just looking at the outside. I guess it’s true what they say, never judge a book by its cover. The venue itself is stunning and as my wife says, “has good bones” which allowed us to customize things how we exactly wanted it. Very spacious to fit our 200+ guest count comfortably, without feeling like we were swimming. Multiple parking lots around the venue, so guests didn’t have an issue. They offer different levels of in-house catering and bar packages or they allow you to buy-out the caterer and/or bar.
We used the in-house caterer and bought out the bar. We had a tasting with the caterer prior to pulling any triggers to make sure we liked the food they were offering. The food was great! We dealt with Jerry, who was very accommodating and allowed us to fine tune/customize the menu to our liking. The bar-buyout meant that we had to provide everything: alcohol, mixers, sodas, water, cups, bartenders, garnishes, straws, ice (venue has an ice machine you can rent) etc. We knew this, so it wasn’t a surprise.
The Events Director, Ashton, was extremely nice and helpful throughout the whole process. She had excellent communication and responds to text/phone calls in a timely manner. She is super flexible and allowed us to visit the venue as many times as we needed to discuss layout/details, meet with venders etc.
Overall, an AMAZING experience at The Majestic. Would recommend to anyone who wants something a little different than your standard wedding.
Finding a wedding venue in Los Angeles is not an easy task. It needs to represent your personality, your style…and meet your budget requirements. My fiancé and I spent seven months...
trying to find a wedding location we both liked….nothing seemed to jump out as the “right choice” for us. Then a friend who plans weddings told me about The Majestic Downtown.
I took one look, and knew it was perfect.
Ashton, the Events Director at The Majestic, was AMAZING. She was so welcoming, helpful, and gracious. I couldn’t have asked for a better partner in planning my wedding. Ashton shared ideas of weddings gone-by, and was open to all of my ideas for a one-of-a-kind event. Being the anal-retentive perfectionist that I am, she graciously allowed me numerous visits to measure, re-measure, walk around, and be inspired. She provided plans for electric and measurements, and gave me checklists to help navigate the legalities and paperwork that comes with throwing a wedding. She returned calls promptly, and answered all of my questions. Unlike other venue reps I met with, I felt like Ashton could be a new friend. She made me feel like mine was the only wedding being planned….when I know that’s not the case. She proudly showed off the space like a new child, and did whatever she could to make me feel comfortable.
A former bank headquarters, it’s floor to ceiling marble and elegance. Large, open spaces, beaded chandeliers throughout, with high hand-painted ceilings. We had been looking for something unique, a place that was special and different.enter the space to see a grand staircase that leads up to the mezzanine. There’s a large hall to the left, which is where we had our ceremony, and later converted it to the dance area. There’s a larger area to the right which is where we had the dinner and reception. The entire area was decorated simply with lighting and flowers. Really didn’t need much more than that. the space itself is glorious. The Majestic is beautiful on it’s own.
There are two small private rooms with restrooms for the newlyweds, one upstairs and one below so each can get ready until the big reveal. There are two permanent marble bars in place so I didn’t have to bring in my own. There’s back alley entrance for catering so the guests didn’t see the hard work behind the curtain and the food magically appeared. There was enough power for all my lights, DJ, band, caterer, and the bounce-house. There’s a huge safe door which was great for fun photos. And there’s a grand staircase as you enter that makes the guests jaws drop….and it was PERFECT for family photos. I have had so many guests call afterwards to say it’s the most spectacular venue they’ve seen.
They have a full kitchen, and parking lot available if you choose to use those services. They have a caterer, janitorial, and preferred vendor list if you are in need of professionals for your special day. So many venues require you to use certain services or hike up the prices for not using their vendors. Ashton, on the other hand, was good enough to work with my budget and the hours of the event, and helped to make my day as special as I wanted it to be.
I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to have another wedding at The Majestic….but I don’t plan on that happening.
I had my ceremony and reception at The Majestic and it was a dream wedding! In my opinion it doesn't compare to other venues out there. It has a 1920s feel which my husband and I l...
oved. Everything from the long chandeliers to the elaborate ceilings and the safe - there's nothing else out there like this place! Super happy with my experience and highly recommended to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary! I had a tour before we booked and the staff were super helpful and accommodating. Amazing experience overall.
Such a great location for a wedding! People could not stop complimenting me on the place which seriously made the wedding so special. I recommend to anybody who wants a unique and ...
One of a kind venue like no other - book the Majestic. It's like an elegant vintage combo and after looking at so many places to get married this place kept coming back to me as the one!! If I get married again LOL guess where it will be. :)

ce to tell her that I was waiting and she said I could go in and see the space. I gave myself a tour of the space , as my friend and I waited 45 minutes before I left. She never bothered to come meet me or even acknowledge that I had been waiting. I'm flexible, so had she said “just a few more minutes" or “let me finish up here and I'll be right with you" I wouldn't have minded. She did none of that. She absolutely ignored me! She walked by with the other couple, while I was looking at the space and did not say a single word. I asked the Doorman if she was finished yet and he said she was out front talking. When I left, I saw her in the parking lot still talking to the same couple. The disrespect of my time was unreal and I don't need those kinds of problems while trying to plan a wedding, which is stressful enough as is. She allowed tens of thousands of dollars walk out the door, because I will absolutely not do business with there. Imagine the experience after signing a contract...if she would even be bothered to show up!
STAY AWAY, don't even waste your money...

They place actually made the bride cry on her wedding day. Seriously? What kind of shoddy excuse is this place.
On a technical note: PARKING IS HORRIFIC. The valet line never moves, you'll wait at least an hour so you can expect to miss cocktail hour or whatever beginning events happen. Expect to be backed up for blocks with oncoming traffic honking at you constantly and cursing at you even though you are stuck at the light because the line for valet is so long and not budging. Inside is beautiful, but it's really a terrible place to do a wedding especially with their disorganization and horrible parking. The caterer they use (Silver Spoons), fair warning... tables of people left before dinner was served because they took so long, served the wrong food, and it came out cold to a lot of people family included. *Yes, they served the WRONG food, it did not match the menu or tasting... They wouldn't apologize or rectify the situation just made excuses blaming the venue and then the venue would turn around and blame the caterer.
*I went to see their facebook fanpage, and now I know why they don't have one. They have terrible yelp reviews, even the filtered reviews are terrible and on top of that, I'm sure they don't want people posting complaints. Never a good sign when a business has to make a "Private" profile on facebook of all places.
RIDICULOUS!!!
On Feb. 9, 2013 my son and daughter in law were married at Majestic Halls. The venue is unique and different however the catering, service and attitude of the owner was deplorable...
. We contracted for the Premium Package and had a wonderful food tasting. Unfortunately, the reception was 180 degrees different. The Appetizers served was less than 1/person, the Chicken Satay was cold and missing the peanut sauce, the warm appetizers were cold and the cold appetizers were room temp. Dinner was even worse. The Miso Crusted Salmon was dry and NOT miso crusted. We paid for silver lined plates and champagne flutes yet they did not have spoons (yes NO spoons). The butter was peel back white butter cups like you get at Denny's, they didn't serve water but had a clear plastic water pitcher on the table. (looked like a cafeteria pitcher). Salad was room temp. Ok the food was terrible and not like the tasting... the dessert table was also shorted and gone in 5 mins, no utensils for the fruit, AND paper coffee cups.
I met with the owner that following week (he was not happy to see me but I insisted) and he indicated that "I should just be happy to marry my kids off and forget about the bad dining experience". He then suggested that if I had a problem to contact his contracted caterer Silver Service Events and Jerry Barnot. I did, Jerry informed me that if I wanted coffee cups/saucers then I needed to rent them as an add on, same with SPOONS... he further said that this level of service and quality was what he was contracted with by Majestic Halls. I said that all we expected was the level of service we experienced at the tasting which was delicious and professional. He again said that what we got was what Majestic Halls contracted with them for.
Unfortunately, Ashley the events mgr we had in June during the tasting said that everything was included and we should expect the quality that we had at the tasting. Nothing in their contract suggested that we would need to rent additionally spoons, utensils or real coffee cups/saucers. In addition, when asked why they shorted me on the desserts they said that I had brought in my own cake (I contracted with Hansens and it was amazing) and so they didn't need all the desserts even though I paid for them. Ashley is gone, then Jessica who replaced her is gone and Caitlin (who was very helpful the day of the event) is gone. Hmmm.
I don't want the reception experience I had to happen to any other set of parents. Oh by the way, we just married my daughter off six months ago at the Skirball Center and it was magical and professionally executed. To show that I am not a planted review I invite you to call me directly if you have any more Q's. Barry 310-922-5312
