The Makeup Addict

I used the Makeup Addict for my wedding and it could not have gone better! Before the wedding, the Makeup Addict worked with my timeline and made sure there were enough artists to complete hair and makeup for 7. The artists showed up early and were set up and ready to start on time and they finished on time. The ladies the day of were so nice and the hair and makeup for the bridesmaids and the bride turned out gorgeous! I highly recommend the Makeup Addict!!

We used The Makeup Addict for hair and makeup services for our November wedding, and we are so glad that we did! Ambria made the process easy from beginning to end, and the team she sent over was professional and ridiculously talented. Stacie and Abigail were our hair stylists, Emily was our makeup artist, and they truly exceeded my expectations! Abigail looked at one picture of what I wanted for my bridesmaids and recreated it perfectly, every single time. Stacie did the same but she also surpassed my over the top bridal hair vision, which I did not think was possible. Emily truly is an artist and the work she creates is magic. She made everyone look and feel absolutely stunning! I would highly recommend these three members of Ambria’s team!

I hired the Makeup Addict for our October wedding. I had my makeup trial in August and everything went well, I loved the look my artist created and it was exactly what I pictured. The weekend of our wedding, there was a conflict and a different artist was assigned to me. She did a wonderful job considering I hadn’t worked with her for my trial, however she was late arriving and put us an hour and a half behind schedule for our day. This meant that we missed out on some really important photo moments because our party wasn’t all ready by the scheduled time and it created a lot of stress and anxiety the day of, to the point that some of my bridesmaids almost had to do their own makeup to be ready in time for the ceremony. The makeup was perfect and held up very well, so I would definitely recommend the application and process, but I do wish we hadn’t missed out on photos that were important to us on a day we’ll never get to redo.

I am so grateful I picked The Makeup Addict to do makeup and hair for my special day. All communication was very prompt and the planning process was very organized. Loren and Molly did an amazing job on makeup! Special shout out to Loren for doing my makeup. Loren listened to what I was looking for in my makeup and also provided helpful suggestions when it came to makeup and pictures. My makeup on my wedding day looked just like my trial. I am grateful I picked a vendor who did both hair and makeup, as they were able to send another artist (Abigail) when I decided to have my nieces get their hair done also. Abigail, Molly, and Loren all arrived on time/stayed on schedule and were a calm addition to the bridal suite! Thank you ladies for making us beautiful!

The company switched stylist 2 days before the wedding which would not have been an issue had either stylist showed up on the wedding date. One was a medical emergency which is understandable but the other was due to “travel issues” which is strange when travel was paid for. This was communicated via email the morning of the wedding which something this wrong deserves a call as the morning of the wedding is already busy as is. After rounds of texting and again no phone call or apology on the companies end a stylist was sent out and arrive 3 hours after the start time and was to do hair and make up for 8. It was setting the stylist up for failure. The whole bridal party was forced to do their own hair and some make up. The bride also ended up doing her own hair as the stylist was not meshing and getting the vision of the bride. Communicate was very poorly handled on the companies side and to not have a person on call in case of these situations seems to cause more stress. I was highly disappointed as services that were paid for were not received. I expect a “large” company to be more on top of communication on the wedding day. Was sadly disappointed and would not recommend.

I cannot say enough about how perfect my day was because of Paulina and Abigail. They were extremely professional, kind, fun, and super patient. I couldn’t imagine my day without them. Paulina was extremely patient with my mother who had so many questions with her sensitive skin and she is hard to please but she blew her makeup out of the park and my mother could not stop raving about Paulina. She also did AMAZING with my makeup I had flawless smooth skin she covered all of my acne scars and marks she did amazing and the makeup did not move all night. Abigail has incredible hair skills my hair stayed all night it was perfection . She was extremely patient and professional when my mother in law was unsure of her hair. If you want the highest quality hair/makeup vendor- this is it. Amazing, ok I’m done raving about them!

Booking the Makeup Addict for your wedding will be one of the best decisions you make! I originally booked them to do just my bridesmaids hair. I had seen pictures of their stylists' work and it always looked flawless. Then, two months before my wedding, my makeup artist suddenly quit on me. I instantly started panicking, knowing that it was going to be extremely hard to find a good makeup artist this close to my date. I desperately shot Ambria, with the Makeup Addict, an email explaining what had happened. She replied instantly! By midnight that same day she had completely solved all my problems. In the end, I am so happy that happened to me, because everyone's hair and makeup were PERFECT!! Not only were both the makeup artist and hair stylist amazing at what they did, but they were so sweet and extremely fun! We all had a blast getting ready with them! Don't hesitate...book them today! You will not be disappointed!

Jamanda and Dareece did a fantastic job on my hair and makeup! They were both very nice and attentive to the look I was going for. In the end, they exceeded all of my expectations. I loved my bridal look - Thank you!!

The hair and makeup team did a good job. They arrived on time and listened to the needs of each person. There was a bit of an issue with time management and we ran later than anticipated which created a bit of a stressful situation. I would recommend but just make sure to plan in ample buffer time!

Ambria, Kathy, and Shannan all killed it with my bridal party's hair and makeup. They totally embraced my vibe and completely got the bohemian look I was going for. I got so many compliments on my hair. Ambria was so flexible when it came to scheduling my trial, as well as the day of. They were timely, professional, and made us all feel beautiful.

Ambria is a phenomenal make up artist! She held the highest level of professionalism, polite and a true artist! My face has never been more beautiful for such a special day!

All I can say is wow!!! Aspen did such a phenomenal job with my daughter and me. Our hair and makeup looked amazing, but I truly believe the best part of Aspen was her amazing personality. We all know how overly stressed we feel as the bride but she talked the entire 2 hours and helped me calm my nerves. Thank you Aspen!!!

Makeup artist/owner Ambria was personable and professional. She gave me the look that I wanted and I felt lovely on my day. Kathy. My hair stylist was super bubbly and accommodating. She listened to what I wanted and make those little tweaks to give me perfection! She was able to incorporate my hairpiece easily.

The Makeup Addict is definitely the way to go for your wedding hair and makeup needs. I needed hair and makeup artists in a pinch and they came to the rescue! Stefanie did my hair and it was perfect and exactly what I envisioned it would look like on my wedding day. She is so meticulous and made sure my hair wasn't going to fall from being outside. Monique did my makeup and it was FLAWLESS. She even stayed a little longer to make sure my fake lashes were in place since I was wedding-day teary eyed. I felt like Stefanie and Monique really listened to what I wanted to look like on my wedding day and they delivered! I 100% recommend The Makeup Addict. They're so sweet and easy to work with!

Ambria was AMAZING!!! I knew from my trial with her she was the one to go with! She even came out to do my makeup for the small ceremony we had on our original date when we had to postpone. She was so easy to work with and super responsive! My makeup was perfect all night! I didn’t even need a touch up after dancing the night away! My girls looked glamorous and they loved her! You won’t go wrong with Ambria!

Ambria and her team have been absolutely amazing to work with! I have been extremely impressed by their kindness, flexibility and skill for hair and make up. I received so many compliments on my wedding for my hair and make up! As someone who does not wear make up, I was pleased with how Ambria captured the natural look I wanted. My hair was the talk of the dinner after our ceremony with everyone saying how much they loved the design. Ambria and her team have been amazingly flexible with all the changes in booking I've had to make with Covid. She was one of my easiest vendors to work with over the last several months.

These ladies made the whole experience for me and my girls as non-stressful as possible. They responded quickly and professionally to all my questions even with my crazy schedule!

Ambria and Stephanie did my hair and makeup prior to wedding and they were fantastic! Listened to what my party wanted (mom and mom-in-law who don't wear much makeup at all) and everyone left SO happy with their look. I felt my makeup was super natural yet enhancing and my hair curls held all night! I also want to highlight how flexible Ambria was since our wedding plans changed multiple times during Covid-19 (originally planned for April 2020 for ~100 people, but didn't happen until August 2020 with only 12 people). Even though our actual wedding ended up being super small, Ambria still agreed to work with me and helped me adjust the plan. She even allowed a couple extra hair and makeup sessions day of! I do not have enough great things to say about this vendor, definitely book now no matter what your wedding looks like!!!

Ambria and Stacia KILLED my hair and makeup for my bridesmaids and I. They were both very easy and accommodating to work with (changing schedules last minute it seemed!), were very professional in their work, and were enjoyable to be around all morning when we were getting ready! I would recommend over and over!

I cannot say enough amazing things about the Makeup Addict. Ambria did the makeup for my bridesmaids and I. She did AMAZING. I had a trial with her before the wedding and she was so accommodating. I thought I wanted one thing, then realized I wanted something the complete opposite. She didn't hesitate and redid my whole makeup right then and there. You can tell just how much she wants to make your day perfect. She understands you want to feel beautiful walking down the aisle and will bend over backwards to make your day perfect. Stacie was equally amazing! She did the hair for my bridesmaids and I. She did an amazing job! Not only is she super talented, but she also cared so much and wanted to make sure I felt super comfortable on my special day. First, booking was so easy and Ambria was very kind and helpful. I did a stellar makeup trial at their suite since I was an out of town bride. All of my requests were listened to. Jenn came to the house my bridesmaids and I were staying in to do all of our makeup the day of. She was so prepared and professional. It really felt like she was part of the wedding party too! I highly recommend to anyone getting married in Raleigh or surrounding areas!

I loved having Ambria and her team do the hair and makeup for me, my bridesmaids, and mother-in-law!! They worked together with my day-of-coordinator to make sure of the scheduling, giving me time to spend with my girls at our venue before the ceremony started. I looked AMAZING!!!!! The artist was very flexible, considering I got lost and was late. I have dark skin, and she made me look flawless.

These guys are AWESOME! Was looking to use them for my wedding - needless to say we ended up doing our makeup ourselves to help stay within budget. However, I did have my “trial run” makeup done at the Makeup Addict’s office space (which was immaculate and so lovely btw) and my makeup looked awesome! They were even willing to work with my super oily skin type and bent over backwards to make me feel comfortable. Please please please consider these guys when looking for makeup for your big day! You won’t be disappointed with their pampering skills and you will look like an angel when you leave!

Stacie did my hair for the wedding in March at Graylyn Estate. She did my hair perfectly and it turned out exactly the way I imagined it. It also held perfectly throughout the entire night. Stacie also did a trial for my hair before the wedding. I have long, and naturally poofy/frizzy hair. I was worried about it looking polished the entire night. After I told her about my worries, she took time to talk to me on the phone and tell me what she could do to help make sure my hair looked perfect. She also suggested blow drying my hair the night before to help with any styling. All this ended up coming together well. The only really small issue is that the schedule didn’t really have any room for unexpected issues (such as breaks). We did have a few unexpected issues which ended up delaying things and causing conflicts with our makeup artist's schedule. we had to update the schedules on the fly and it all ended up working out at the end. Given that all our hair looked just as we wanted, I'd book her again.

Ambria and her team were amazing! They all did a fantastic job and had me and my bridesmaids looking flawless for the wedding.

Ambria and Stacie both did AMAZING work on myself and my bridesmaids. From the beginning they were super easy to work with. They respond in a timely manner and was able to schedule my bridal trial with no issues. For anyone needing makeup/hair artists for their wedding, I highly recommend using them.

We had an excellent experience with the Makeup Addict! Everyone's make up turned out just as we wanted! The ladies listened to what I wanted for my day of look for myself and my bridesmaids and we all looked gorgeous! They even took last minute clients as we had more time than we previously thought! From the first time I came into contact with The Makeup Addict, everyone that I interacted with was wonderful. My hair and makeup looked beautiful for my wedding day and all of my bridesmaid’s hair looked amazing!

Ambria and her team were absolutely wonderful! Ambria helped me out and put together a phenomenal team after my original make up artist canceled on me 40 days before my wedding. She was very responsive and sympathetic to my panicked email. Her teams skill and professionalism were top notch. They were also so much fun to spend the day with and made my wedding morning so enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend them !

I wish I could give this more stars, because Ambria was really nice during our conversations, and this is nothing against her personally; she was very accommodating when I was trying to reschedule my bridal hair and makeup trial. My issue came from the trial itself. I was told the day before that my trial would be held in a different location than originally stated - ok, not a big deal. I get there and the hair person (Selina, I think?) informs me that she wasn't sent the pictures of how I wanted my hair until midnight the night before, and therefore wasn't super prepared. I had wanted a messy ponytail essentially, but she said she couldn't do that and ended up almost turning it into an updo; so we went with my backup option (hair down, loose curls). There was no product put in my hair to tease it or help with the curls, and by the time my bridal portraits came around my hair was stringy and flat. I'm not sure why a ponytail wasn't even attempted, but I did another trial with my usual stylist and she knocked it out on the first go. My makeup person (Marsha, I believe), was INCREDIBLY nice and sweet but honestly, just awful. The coloring of my foundation was orange, the concealer was almost white - I ended up looking like an open casket at a funeral, as awful as that is to say. I had to come back home and redo the makeup myself (I'm pretty decent with makeup, but left my hair because I'm not good at that). Why didn't I do my own makeup to begin with, you ask? Because it was my wedding and I wanted a professional to do it and feel pampered. The quality of service that I got vs. the portfolio I saw on their website was night and day. Clearly, their reviews are good so this may have just been a hit-and-miss situation. After the trial, I canceled my contract with them and used my stylist for my hair and did my makeup for my wedding day.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful The Makeup Addict is! Karen was my makeup artist for my wedding. She did an amazing job! I have never felt so beautiful and she was extremely attentive of all I asked. I would definitely recommend The Makeup Addict!

I worked with Stacie for getting my hair done and she is absolutely amazing. She is so patient and kind, and I'm not one to ever really style my hair but she made me and my mom look absolutely stunning. She worked with me to create a look that would compliment my face and I felt beautiful. Moreover, she knew how to work with thicker, curlier hair that we have, and that was extremely nice to experience. She is amazing. I did not get makeup done so don't have experience with that, but my hair did look great. The Makeup Addict as a company is also quite responsive, and reasonably priced. I could schedule a trial and the final hairdo dates very easily, and it was a breeze working with them. Thank you Ambria!

Ambria is amazing!!! Every one of my picky bridesmaids and me the even pickier bride loved our makeup. Also Ambria was incredibly sweet and accommodating- I felt like I was with a friend which is what you want on your day. Choose Ambria for your makeup!

I cannot day enough how amazing Ambria was! Our makeup was incredible and she was flexible and positive the entire time, especially considering the last minute location and time changes that happened for our session before my wedding! Ambria did the makeup for our wedding and did an AMAZING job. All the girls, including myself, loved our makeup and it turned out great in pictures. Ambria & Salena came early the day of my wedding, and both slayed my hair and make-up! I had a closed wedding in the morning and a private dinner that evening and my makeup lasted all throughout the day. I posted a review on The Wedding Wire as well, but I wanted to post it here too! I love The Makeup Addict! I was in a mad panic to find makeup and hair stylists for my June 23 wedding. I started looking for options...a week before that date. Yes, I know, I know! Thankfully, the ladies at The Makeup Addict swooped in and saved the day. They were punctual and professional, and I really appreciated their patience answering all my questions as well as their flexibility the day of the wedding. They were also very kind, funny, and supportive. They make you feel GREAT on your wedding day--inside and out! What more can you ask for?

Ambria was easy to work with and delivered flawlessly on the looks we had agreed upon. She was flexible and accommodated for additional members in the bridal party. I wold highly recommend her to anyone looking to work with her!

I can not recommend The Makeup Addict enough! Ambria did the makeup for me, my 9 bridesmaids, my mother and mother of the groom on my wedding day and we all looked amazing! I had an outdoor farm wedding in June, and while there, I cried like a baby, danced, sweated and my makeup did not run at all. It looked perfect until the end of the night! She is super friendly, responsive and flexible, and paid great attention to detail with each of us. My bridal party was very diverse with a lot of different skin tones and types, and we all looked phenomenal! She even covered my sister's back tattoo, and another bridesmaid's back acne scars at their request last minute (for no additional cost). I could go on and on about how great it was working with Ambria! Once again, I could not recommend her enough!

Ambria did all of our makeup for the wedding! She was amazing. We had such a good time with her and she made the experience so comfortable with all of us especially being that some of us had never had our makeup done! I really enjoyed it and thought my makeup was perfect for the wedding!
