As my wife Amy and I approach our 7th wedding anniversary, we’ve been reminiscing about how truly special our wedding day was—thanks in large part to Kevin and his incredible team ...
at The Malt House. Looking back, we can’t imagine a better venue or a more thoughtful, accommodating group of people to help bring our vision to life.
We had the entire space rented out, spanning three floors, each with a unique purpose. The upstairs mezzanine was reserved for the band we brought in, the main floor was set up for drinks, pictures, and passed appetizers, and the downstairs offered additional seating and food service. We originally planned to have a small outdoor ceremony near the Brooklyn Bridge, but when rain changed our plans, Kevin immediately stepped in to create a beautiful and intimate ceremony space in the private boardroom upstairs. It was perfect—an elegant and cozy setting that made our vows feel even more personal.
For the reception, we didn’t want a traditional sit-down dinner with assigned seating. Instead, we envisioned a flowing, open-bar style event where people could move freely, mingle, grab a drink, enjoy incredible food, and simply celebrate with us. Kevin and his team executed this vision flawlessly. Our guests—many of whom traveled from all over the world—were blown away by the beer selection, the care put into the cocktails (despite the large crowd), and the overall quality of the food. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and exactly what we had hoped for.
What truly set The Malt House apart, though, was their commitment to hospitality. At the end of the night, we had planned to continue the celebration with an after-party at a nearby hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel completely forgot about our event, and by the time some friends arrived, all their bar staff had gone home. Without hesitation, Kevin told us The Malt House would stay open so the celebration could continue. That moment meant everything to us—our friends and family, especially those who had traveled so far, were able to keep the party going, and it turned what could have been a disappointing end into an unforgettable one.
Seven years later, we are still beyond grateful for everything Kevin and his team did to make our wedding day perfect. If you’re looking for a venue with incredible food, drinks, atmosphere, and—most importantly—people who genuinely care about your experience, The Malt House is it. Thank you again, Kevin, for going above and beyond for us. We’ll always remember and appreciate it!
This was the first venue on the list of many to visit when we started planning. Upon entering we were greeted so kindly and taken around by Kevin and we were sold by the end. We di...
dn’t even bother going to check out the other venues and we booked it with Kevin. Thank god we did because he was extremely attentive and in all honestly completely blown away the day of the wedding. We wanted to say a million thanks because what Kevin and the malt house had done was remarkable. The venue is a gem, the food is amazing, layout perfect, drinks perfect, the whole night was nothing short of PERFECT!!! Once again you will not go wrong with the malt house or Kevin you won’t find anywhere or anyone better.
We planned our wedding cocktail reception at the malt house and reserved The Volstead, their whiskey lounge. The rustic speakeasy look and feel was exactly the vibe we were looking...
for. There are 2 bars and plenty of open space for mingling as well as seating options. The food was amazing. Some of the guest favorites were the lamb lollipops, Mac and cheese bites, sliders, and the shrimp cocktail. It was all coursed out over 4 hours really well. The cocktails were also really great. The Malt House team was super attentive and really brought our vision to life. I highly recommend this venue. 10/10!
They were not prepared for a wedding. It was evident this was the venues first event of this caliber. Management overpromised and underdelivered and it was honestly very stressful ...
and disappointing to the point where I was micromanaging as the bride the entire evening. It began by them still serving brunch service at 5pm when my guests would be arriving at 530pm for my ceremony. I arrived at 445pm in my white dress to see nothing had been setup/ decorated as planned and patrons eating brunch and drinking at the bar. I had a vision for how everything would be setup and this was discussed with the main operations lead. They said apps would be passed and they were served buffet style. They also decided to serve dinner in the downstairs dining area during the wedding (120ppl) and never moved up my flowers from the ceremony so all the patrons just ate amongst my beautiful flower arch and 40 arrangements downstairs. I went downstairs to move them all myself. While I didn't officially "rent out the entire restaurant", if you cannot handle the wedding party why would you possibly try to manage a dinner and brunch during it as well. The venue itself is beautiful and they are easy going nice people, but not ready for weddings yet.
