The building originally housed a furniture shop serving the people of Worcester before being bought by the Ciluzzi family, the current owners. The waterfront compound is the perfect setting for your wedding or special event.
We have the absolute best location on Cape Cod for an intimate gathering of friends and family. We offer waterfront rooms, suites, and cottages and can accommodate wedding parties of up to 150 persons. 2022 marks 63 years in business, and we are now busy booking weddings and special events in our spacious grass setting just steps away from the beach. Our 450-foot private deck boasts beach access and unmatched views of Provincetown Harbor.
Anything is possible, such as beach cookouts, lobster bakes, and much more. For adventurous types, there are countless activities to take advantage of, such as sailing, water skiing, tennis, and gold. We had an incredible wedding at The Masthead Resort in June of 2022. The venue was the perfect location for a private gathering of friends and family for our wedding weekend right in the heart of the West End of Provincetown. The collection of cottages and rooms provided the unique opportunity to have friends and family in each and every room of the hotel without any non-wedding guests. This enabled us to take over the hotel completely for a full weekend of activities. We had an entire weekend of events at the hotel including a Friday night welcome dinner, Saturday ceremony and reception, and Sunday morning brunch. The hotel and grounds provided an incredibly picturesque quintessential Cape Cod backdrop to our affair with plenty of opportunity for a variety of setups on the lawn, pier, beach, and tent arrangement. Our guests were raving about how beautiful the location is. The walkable distance to the main drag of Commercial Street also provided the opportunity for us and our guests to experience Provincetown fully outside of events at the Masthead.
The management and staff at the Masthead were incredibly professional and supportive throughout the planning and during the event. Although having a wedding at this location is not the same one stop shop that we could have had at a catering hall it did provide the opportunity to have a entirely unique personalized event. The management provided full support and great recommendations for vendors that helped pull together an affair that exceeded our expectations. The Masthead was responsive throughout the planning and worked hard to help fulfill our wishes.
During the wedding weekend both the management and staff fully executed on all our planning which allowed us to enjoy the moment with our friends and family. The Masthead staff have a true investment in the success of the property and of our event and were truly enjoyable to work with. The Masthead will always hold a special place in the memories made at our wedding. We recommend this venue highly as wedding location both in Provincetown and on Cape Cod.
My husband and I were married at The Masthead in October 2021 and the experience was wonderful. The day of the wedding was incredible, and went off without a hitch. The staff was anticipatory and responsive, and the venue was beautiful. John (owner) and Andrea (Business Ops Manager) along with David (on-site handy man guru) and many others made the planning process easy and enjoyable. We had a small ceremony of 50 on-site with a dinner following and later approx 30 friends joined for a Happily Ever After Party for drinks and dancing. We did the decor ourselves and the team was there with anything we needed from scissors to scotch tape. They were responsive, flexible, and always professional, and went out of their way to accommodate any and all requests. They made sure we were so well taken care of and all of our guests happy. It was an amazing experience and we had such a wonderful time.

We had our wedding at the masthead in 2019. It feels cliquey to say this but it truly was the perfect day. I can’t think of a single venue in Provincetown that would have been able to create the magic that the Masthead did for us. Let me break it down for you...
- It’s right on the water. You can see the ocean from almost every inch of this property.
- your guests literally stay ft from where the ceremony/party was. Need I say more?
- John and his crew were so accommodating. We were changing things last minute and they made it all happen like clock work.
- It’s a quintessential provincetown wedding spot, but it still feels upscale and elegant without breaking the bank.
- the property and landscaping is expertly maintained. I’ve always wanted a preppy lawn wedding and that is exactly what we got!
- we loved it so much we stayed here again for our one year anniversary.
Book here ASAP before it fills up.

This was an incredible venue for our wedding - we unequivocally recommend it, particularly for those looking for an outdoor, relaxed vibe. We also recommend having some/all of your guests stay before and after the ceremony (book early for summer months) or at least booking a cottage for the day/night of.
We spent the months leading up to the event working closely with John and the Karens (two wonderful women named Karen who run the front office). A true Cape Cod local, John knew virtually everyone in town and made suggestions for catering, planners and beyond. His flexibility and warm bearing alleviated much of the natural anxiety leading up to the wedding, and made the necessary-but-often-fraught logistical elements much more bearable.
The actual ceremony took place on the pier there, which is a simply remarkable location. There's an old shipping bell at the end of the pier that we rang at the end of the ceremony, which - beyond being a simply fantastic ad fun symbolic gesture - sounded incredible!
Our families and close friends stayed there with us for a few days leading up to the wedding, and it couldn't have been more idyllic. The weather was fantastic, and the location of the hotel is simply perfect for Provincetown - located on the west end, it's a short walk into town, but tucked away from the hustle-and-bustle of Commercial Street.
Highly recommend that if you do book here, try to book early and simply rent the entire thing out, as it gives you a lot of flexibility for how you can use the space - and John and team are there to make it happen.
Ultimately, Provincetown is a special place, and this location provides simply everything one might ask for - along with a well-intentioned staff that's eager to help you make your big day great.

We held our wedding at the Masthead. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All of our guests stayed at the Masthead and our reception was on the pier. John helped us coordinate rentals. Everything was wonderful and our guests loved it. We liked that we could walk to Ptown yet were out of the busy district. Great location; great people! We highly recommend the Masthead!
