Welcome to The Mathis, Southern Utah’s modern, elevated venue designed for unforgettable gatherings. Located in the heart of St. George, The Mathis beautifully blends historic architecture with warm, contemporary design—creating a versatile backdrop for weddings, corporate events, celebrations, and community experiences of every kind.
Rooted in the red rock landscape, the building dates back to the early 20th century and has played many roles throughout its lifetime before being lovingly restored by the Glendenning family. Its storied past and carefully preserved character now meet thoughtful renovations, including an attached three-story office and a fully revitalized interior. The original structure has transformed into an enchanting 2,400-square-foot event space, featuring exposed brick walls, soaring open-truss ceilings, natural hardwood flooring, and prism glass windows that flood the room with natural light.
The Mathis can comfortably host up to 75 guests for seated gatherings with space for food stations, a reception line, and a dance floor. For flowing, open-house style events, the venue accommodates up to 200 guests—making it an ideal setting for both intimate and lively celebrations.
At The Mathis, we believe life’s most meaningful moments deserve to be celebrated with intention. Our flexible floor plans, refined finishes, and modern amenities make planning seamless and stress-free. With a “hands-off but here-when-you-need-us” approach, we empower hosts, planners, and vendors to create their perfect event while ensuring the space is polished, prepared, and fully supported behind the scenes.
Our dedicated team goes above and beyond to make every celebration effortless. We offer a variety of rental packages that include reclaimed wooden tables, bentwood chairs, full setup and takedown of your desired layout, an on-site sound system, prep kitchen access, and optional add-ons such as microphones, projectors, and custom lighting to set the tone. Whether you're hosting a dinner reception, business conference, or intimate wedding, our venue adapts beautifully to your vision.

I’m Isabelle Peck, an event coordinator and planner with four years of experience bringing meaningful moments to life. I’m a creative at heart and a natural connector who thrives in venue management and event operations. I love working closely with clients, understanding their vision, and transforming spaces into polished, seamless experiences that feel intentional and unforgettable.
In my dual role as an event coordinator and venue manager, I blend organization with creativity to ensure every event is set up for success. From preparing the venue and managing layouts to overseeing timelines, and day-of venue logistics, I bring structure, clarity, and a calm, steady presence to every project. I’m passionate, supportive, and committed to creating a smooth process from start to finish.
What fuels me most is connection. I genuinely enjoy building relationships, communicating openly, and supporting clients so they feel confident and excited about their event. Seeing a vision come to life—and knowing I played a part in making it seamless and memorable—is truly the best part of what I do.

It was the perfect spot for a summer wedding, with an inviting layout and great natural light. The downtown location was convenient for guests, with easy access and plenty of nearby parking.
What really made the experience unforgettable was the staff. They were incredibly kind, flexible, and attentive—making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Their professionalism made all the difference on such a special day.

The Mathis was the perfect place for my granddaughters wedding celebration. We love it there. We had planned on a backdrop for the ring ceremony and realized the beautiful wood doors were better than any backdrop! Everything turned out perfect....
