We had our wedding there on 5/25/24. The space was beautiful- we had great weather so were able to open up the tent and take advantage of the indoor/outdoor space. I loved the new tent with so many views to outside. The food was outstanding- we were so impressed at our tasting and that carried over to our wedding meal. Sarah was easy to work with and accommodating of my requests. She worked with the other vendors and our day turned out so well!
The Medalist is an AMAZING place for your wedding. We got married there on 10/21 of this year and it was so great. The staff is so kind and helpful. The location is beautiful. The event coordinator/owner was so easy to work with - always available for questions and anything else that may come up. It was raining the morning of our wedding and she was going to let us adjust our ceremony time to avoid the rain for the outdoor ceremony we wished for. She is so amazing to have around on your big day!

We held our son and now daughter in law’s rehearsal dinner at The Medalist and were so pleased from start to finish. Starr was a pleasure to work with-so knowledgeable and attentive to all the details. The food was incredible, and patio atmosphere so beautiful making it such a lovely evening to enjoy time with family and friends. The staff all took great care of us. The guys also golfed that day, and had nothing but praise for the beautiful course. We highly recommend this venue and these fine people! We’ll be back.

The event coordinator Emma was unresponsive, unorganized, and very difficult to work with. I had to speak to the owner multiple times to get in contact with her. Then they booked an event on our wedding day after we were told we would be able to set up any time. The day of our rehearsal we were told the event coordinator was fired and I would be working with someone new. Horrible organization and communication. Felt very stressed and frustrated. However, I will say the day ended up working out beautiful but I don’t think I would book with them again. Good food but again lack of communication happened. We wanted to pay for everyone’s drink’s and somehow everyone ended up paying for their own. Super disappointed!

loyee not following up and understood your anger at the time directed to us. We promised you it would be ready and beautiful, and it was done, ready, and beautiful well before your contracted time to use the venue. You and your mother actually went out of your way to apologize and thank Starr for going above and beyond to make your special day perfect. Again, we are sorry that you were stressed when we changed coordinators as we pride ourselves on taking the stress away from our clients. This wasn't the case for you and is one of the reasons we made a change. We made a mistake but feel strongly that when you make a mistake it's the way you respond to and fix that mistake that makes the difference for our clients and ourselves. If you truly were as unhappy as the one star rating says please reach out to our owner whom you spoke to many times and he will make sure you are happy at the end of the day. All customers are important to us.

Your new tent is beautiful! I love how you add the draping for the ceremony! I love all the strings of light inside, just beautiful!!! You had plenty of staff to help out with the rehearsal dinner, as buses were dropping off people before the ceremony, and during the reception. They were all very nice, friendly and hustled! It was great to see how they were clearing dishes off the tables. The food was delicious all weekend! Thank you for making the special mac and cheese for the rehearsal dinner, everyone loved it! The dinner for the wedding was also delicious.... I know my nephews went up a couple of times...LOL! We also had lunch Sunday in the clubhouse after we picked up decorations. Delicious!! Also thank you for staging all the decorations on Sunday, it made it easy to load up.
Michelle is a great asset to your organization! I know we were her first wedding at The Medalist, but from the first contact with us, she was flawless! Any questions or issues we had, she was on top of it.
The Medalist Golf Club was great to work with, especially during COVID-19. Our original venue could not accommodate our needs for our big day. The Medalist did a great job in crunch time, communicating and working with my husband and I to make sure our day went as planned. Starr was amazing! She listened and worked with us for all of our needs and wants! She was always willing to listen or work with us on anything we brought to her attention that was not how they "normally" do things. She is very approachable and quick to respond. Starr also made sure that we had time to decorate before our big day which was a HUGE bonus. The Medalist also did all of our clean up and allowed us to come pick up on Monday after our Saturday wedding. It was awesome to not worry about this the night of. Overall, Starr is great to work with and the Medalist is a beautiful venue!
I have nothing but good things to say about the Medalist! The first thing that drew us to this venue was customer service. Starr went above and beyond since the moment I first had a phone conversation with her. Throw in a pandemic, and Starr was the shining light and calming influence that navigated us through our perfect day. Great atmosphere, great food and great people! If I had the opportunity to do it all over again, I would choose The Medalist again! Thank you for making our day perfect!

Where do I even begin...The Medalist truly made my wedding day everything I could have imagined and more. Starr Weaver is the most organized, professional, passionate, and kind-heart wedding organizer any bride and groom could ever want. Leading up to our big day, Starr met with us at any time to go over questions or ideas we had, allowed us to come visit the venue numerous times to envision our plans, and communicated with us often. Having to move our original date due to COVID-19 I thought would be very tough and stressful, but Starr made the transition extremely easy and stress-free.
The Medalist’s venue is simply unlike any other. We took our bridal party photos in various spots around the golf course, which were breathtaking and made for the most amazing photos taken by our incredible photographer, Stephanie Parshall. We had our ceremony at the gazebo and it was the most beautiful spot to say ‘I do’ surrounded by beautiful greenery. The event tent where our reception took place was everything I had envisioned for our celebration. From the pin lights and chandeliers, to the dance floor and spacious floor plan, it could not have been a more perfect venue. One of our favorite perks of having our reception at The Medalist was that they cater all of the delicious food themselves and provide many open bar options for you to choose from. The event tent’s ‘walls’ were removed for fresh air and gorgeous greenery surrounding the tent, which only added to the beauty of this venue.
I recommend to any couple getting married to contact The Medalist for their wedding venue. You cannot beat their prices, breath-taking venue, and wonderful wedding coordinator, Starr Weaver.

The Medalist is a phenomenal place for a wedding and reception. I highly recommend them. The staff were very informative, easy to work with, and everyone went out of their way to help make this a special day for all of us. We got married at The Medalist on August 24th, 2018. From the moment we began looking at venues, The Medalist was an immediate favorite. Starr was incredibly helpful, the food received many compliments, and the overall atmosphere of the venue left our guests in awe. For an affordable price at a beautiful golf course, with great food, friendly service, lots of parking, and a convenient on-site bridal suite, The Medalist has it all and more. The Medalist will always hold a special place in our hearts and we are so glad we started our forever there.
We decided to have a last minute wedding ceremony with immediate family right before Thanksgiving. The Medalist was perfect and so helpful in the last minute preparations we needed to make. Starr was very quick to respond to every question/ concern and the inside turned out beautiful.

I would highly recommend The Medalist and Starr Weaver for your wedding! My husband and I have been in the wedding industry as photographers for 39 years, and have worked with many venues. We were 100% happy with Starr and her support and enthusiasm for our kids wedding. You would have thought it was her own daughter that was getting married!
They were flexible, and willing to accommodate the bride and grooms dreams! The provided a custom menu, which everyone loved! It was cold and rainy, but the tent was warm and toasty, plenty of heaters, the lighting in the tent adds to the ambience, the service and attitude of the staff is of the highest quality, and exceeded our expectations.
I wouldn't hesitate to reserve this venue again for any event that may come up!

Kelly and the staff at the Medalist helped us pull off our wedding without a hitch. Since we ended up getting married between 2 tornado's in the area. Once the wedding was finally over and the drinks, food, dancing and fun began a beautiful double rainbow came out to greet us on a beautiful August afternoon.
The food was amazing, the staff even though young were extremely professional We would highly recommend having a wedding/reception at the Medalist Golf Club.
Amazing!! Absolutely loved working with Kelly! She was so knowledgeable and professional! She helped to make our wedding flawless. From the food to the staff and the time she took to answer all of our questions while putting our minds at ease during the days leading up to the wedding. Nothing was overlooked and the scenery was romantic and beautiful.
I can't say enough positive things about The Medalist. Our wedding was over Labor Day weekend and it was simply perfect. If anything went wrong during our day my husband and I were unaware. Everything was what we had imagined and more. For weeks afterwards everyone was talking about how beautiful the venue was, how great the food was, etc.
Kelly was amazing. There isn't enough praise for everything she did for us. She promptly answered all emails, phone calls, and texts to answer any and all questions I had (and I had a lot). She gave us suggestions for outside vendors, got food that wasn't even on their menu for our reception, got beer specifically for my mom (she's picky) even though they didn't carry that specific kind), she dealt with a lot of last minute changes and indecisiveness on our part right up to the wedding.... I could go on and on. Because not only did she help with our wedding but my bridal shower and the rehearsal dinner as well. She was also the officiant for us as well, and by the time the day had come I had no doubt she was the perfect person for that job.
When our wedding day was over they only thing I was upset about was truly how fast the day had gone by.
We had a beautiful wedding at The Medalist in September. The food was great, atmosphere was wonderful and we had an awesome time. Our wedding was on the smaller side and we were able to utilize the patio for the reception which was an ideal location. Kelly was wonderful and always prompt to answer question. We gave her a lot of research to do regarding craft beer pricing and she was able to accommodate us. She was not upset when her research went unused and we changed our minds! Even after the wedding she continued to be helpful.
Service and food were excellent. This was an outside tent event, the grounds were well kept and maintained. The lights inside the tent provided a beautiful atmosphere. The wedding coordinator was very good to work with up and through the event. The staff was very efficient, we were well attended by the staff. I would recommend this site for a wedding.

Our day was perfect! The best part was our event coordinator Kelly Perian. She handled everything. From payment plans, meal, rehursal and dinner to our special day. We did a joining of the family wedding. Kelly took care of everything. She had the entire family together, getting alone etc. The reception was at the Medalist as well. Kelly had the place set up and ready. Over the top service!! Food was excellent! Staff was excellent. If we ever need anther event or special gathering Kelly is your person. We love her and I can not thank her enough for making my dreams come true.

I have one word for my wedding experience at The Medalist: AMAZING!! From my first meeting with Kelly until she helped get my dress perfect for me to walk, she was perfect. Kelly helped with all the little details, kept me at ease. Kelly was more than willing to answer questions and kept me in the know of what was going on. Our rehearsal was a fun time as well. Our big day was September 15, 2017 and many, many of our guests say this is hands down the best wedding they ever attended. We had our wedding outside on the patio and it was perfect. The scenery. The sunset. The food was perfect. Kelly was not overbearing, she wanted it to be great. The staff was pleasant and fun. Thank you to everyone for making my big day the perfect day!! :) I would give you 100 stars if I could.
Beautiful location for a reception! An awesome tent to keep the sun or rain off, but still being able to be outdoors and enjoy the weather. Our wedding was 6-23-17 and it rained almost the whole week before the wedding and even a little bit the morning of, but the tent didn't even feel damp.
The stag was very friendly and helpful, never getting in the way. It was almost like they weren't even there unless you needed them. They were easily able to accommodate our 140 guests, and many of them told me how beautiful it was.
Lots of room outside the tent for kids to run around and it was right next to the gazebo where we had our ceremony so it was nice for our guests that they didn't have to travel to the reception from the ceremony.
And last but definitely not least, I cannot say enough good things about Kelly! She was spectacular! I felt like I was emailing her or calling her once a week in the 4 months between picking a date and having the wedding. She was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions fully and promptly. On the day of she checked in with us but didn't hover. Just the right amount of supervision for her staff and update for me.
Where to begin! This venue is amazing! From the Gazebo where our ceremony was held to the tent reception! I couldn't have been more pleased!!! But most of our wedding planner Kelly, was more than amazing! Her ideas and suggestions, and overall help was more than I could have asked for. I knew what I wanted but the minor details she helped me so much and in all the right areas. We are definitely going back for more gatherings.

Amazing! It was truly a dream come true for my husband and I! We just celebrated our wedding on 9/25/16! From the start Kelly (the event specialist) was on top of everything. She always got back to me within a few hours and double checked everything. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect place to celebrate our marriage! The staff as a whole went above and beyond for not only us but every guest that was celebrating with us! Our son ended up getting sick before the night from dancing and being too hot and every single staff member came to see what we needed and if he was okay. They are all truly amazing and will help with anything! This is a beautiful venue, extremely accommodating with having the reception and ceremony right there! The food (both rehearsal and reception) was exceptionally delicious! We could not have asked for anything better!
Truly the best day ever! We could not have asked for more from The Medalist's staff on our big day! From the very beginning, Kelly was available at almost all hours of the day to answer emails, texts, or phone calls to answer even the most insignificant of questions that I had for her. Additionally, they were able to accommodate us and all of the ideas that we had for the day! On the wedding day, we experienced a morning of rain, and more rain, and then even more rain. Therefore, we weren't able to set out all of our decorations the night before/morning-of like we had planned. Kelly and The Medalist crew took it all in stride and worked to set things up EXACTLY how we had imagined anyway! The amount of pride that the staff had in making our day perfect was absolutely unbelievable. When it stopped raining an hour or so before the ceremony was set to begin, the staff got busy drying chairs, setting up outdoor decorations, and made it seem like they had planned all along for it to rain all day and then clear up right on time! Our guests are still raving about how great everything looked, how delicious the food was, and the great service we received from the very beginning to the very end. I wish I could rate 100 stars!
As parents of the Groom, we are very happy with our son's wedding day! From the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner to the wedding day and reception, everything was perfect! Kelly Spagnoli Perian, the coordinator and all the staff worked very hard to make sure we had what we needed and made sure everything was well organized. The weather on the wedding day threatened to put a damper on the plans but Kelly and the staff kept calm and help with alternative plans if needed. Luckily the weather let up and original plans were kept. The staff worked hard at drying everything off in plenty of time for the scheduled start time.
The food for rehearsal dinner and the reception was out of this world! Very well prepared and very well staged. The cookies and milk were a huge hit!
All the details all the way down to making sure wrinkles were removed from the linens to making sure decorations were exactly in the right spot were meticulously taken care of. You can tell the staff takes pride in their jobs! Throughout, all the staff and especially Kelly had smiles, were happy, were helpful, were accommodating, and were sincere to all the guests, the bride and groom and the parents!

AMAZING!! My husband and i decided to rent out the gazebo and tent.. it was exactly what i imagined. Kelly became my best friend in planning this wedding.. she gave me great tips and helped with the planning! The food was great and the pictures are beautiful! Kelly wasnt able to attend my wedding because she had family obligations but im telling you she had every one prepped on how to do everything! Their staff was beyond my expectations. They were so nice and comforting me.. it was all about the bride in their eyes and making sure it was perfect for me.. highly recommend this great place
The medalist did a wonderful job accommodating to what I wanted for my special day. Kelly organized just what I wanted for the lay out in the tent to fit the large guest list that we had. It is a beautiful location, you can't go wrong with an awesome golf course for pictures!
We had a small wedding and were having problems finding a nice place for a reasonable price. Medalist was perfect. It was reasonably priced, beautiful landscape, and very well organized. Kelly did a great job making sure that I had a beautiful wedding that was also stress free. Kelly also performed the ceremony with vows that fit our personalities .

The weather for our wedding took a dive, our wedding coordinator, Kelly Perian, was able to change our venue and put us in the tent and it was beautiful. I called with lots of questions and Kelly was able to keep me calm and would say it will be taken care of and it was. Kelley did an excellent job and she is very personal and professional.

Our October wedding at the Medalist was just what I had dreamed of. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. It was a night we will always remember. We were married outside in the gazebo which was gorgeous with the fall leaves and white chairs. The tent made the perfect place to have a beautiful reception and dance the night away. The twinkle lights and the chandeliers in the tent add a special atmosphere. Kelly Perian the wedding planner extraordinaire was amazing to work with. Kelly worked closely with us on our wedding plan and always kept our wishes and our budget in mind. She also gave us excellent suggestions on dj, accommodations and rides. The food was delicious, the wait staff was friendly and bartenders kept the drinks flowing. There was plenty of space for mingling and dancing. The dj kept the dance floor hopping. We all had a great time. The grounds also makes for great photo opportunities! I would not hesitate to work with Kelly and the Medalist again for future events.
When they tell you, your wedding is going to be the best day of your life they are not kidding. And I feel as though The Medalist was a HUGE reason for that. I had no worries. If anything ever did go wrong (which I still am not sure if anything even did) I knew NOTHING about it. Kelly is so amazing to work with and even though we had a million questions she always answered our emails/texts very promptly. I could not have asked for a better person to work with. She doesn't beat around the bush and will tell you straight up if something is possible or impossible. However with The Medalist, very few things are impossible. If they don't have it they will do everything is their power to make it available. We are very sad our wedding is over and we already miss working closely with Kelly.
I live about 30 minutes away from Marshall and we wanted to get married somewhere that was like no other venue in my town. My husband and I went to "tour" The Medalist in January, when there was a ton of snow on the ground. The tent wasn't even up and I booked right away. I knew it was going to be absolutely everything I wanted and dreamed of. It was not hard to envision what it was going to look like even with 7 inches of snow on the ground.
They food was amazing. They have a huge selection of appetizers, entrees, and late-night snacks.
We have been married for 43 days and people are STILL talking about how gorgeous and amazing our wedding was. I want to thank Kelly and all the staff at the Medalist for making what honestly was the greatest day of our lives flawless and amazing!
I was very happy with the Medalist as our venue for the ceremony and reception, everything went smooth. The food was good except the first pan of chicken seemed dry but everyone I talked to said the food was good. People also expressed that the alcohol drinks were to expensive. Kelly Perian is easy to work with and she does a great job planning everything. She also married us and we were extremely happy with the ceremony.

My husband and I were just recently married at the Medalist Golf Club. Both our ceremony and reception took place right there on the property. Everything was wonderful from the planning to the actual event. Kelly is amazing to work with. She had great suggestions and was always quick to address any questions or concerns. The staff did a great job the day of the wedding. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful outdoor wedding location :)
My wife and I were married and held our reception at the Medalist in 2013. Our ceremony was at the outdoor gazebo and our reception was in the tent set up on the nearby hill.
This venue was awesome. The Medalist provided our wedding and reception locations and catered the food. It was really "one stop shopping," and made planning easy. Plus, it was by far the best value we found anywhere. The facilities were great, the catered food was very good, the golf course was a lovely backdrop for pictures, and the whole thing was surprisingly affordable. It's also a convenient location, with plenty of hotel rooms available in nearby Marshall. My wife and I had our wedding night at the Firekeepers casino, which has a very nice hotel - and the Medalist got us a discount. Overall, our experience was perfect.
We loved having our wedding at the Medalist. The space is beautiful and and stuff was so helpful. Made our special day care free. Everything was done to our specifications. Could not have asked for a better venue.
I recently was married at The Medalist and I had an absolutely perfect experience! I am usually so stressed over all of the small details, but everything went just as planned if not better. We had our rehearsal on the patio the night before, and everyone just loved the view out over the pond and the taco buffet we had. It was so convenient to be able to rehearse at the gazebo and then walk 20 feet to the patio for dinner. Also, it's convenient for guests on the wedding day to attend the ceremony at the gazebo, then walk another 20 feet to the reception in the tent! If I were to have a smaller wedding, I would also have considered using the patio! Furthermore, there's no need to drive anywhere else for wedding pictures, the course is magnificent! My photographer asked me where we wanted to shoot and I said that anywhere would be gorgeous (although at least one picture in front of the fountain is a must-have). Our guests just raved about the bistro steaks and pesto pasta that we had on the dinner buffet. Just absolutely delicious! There were some cute personal details as well! In the women's bathroom the coordinator had decorated small hearts with our initials that were sticking out of flower arrangements. My husband and I just felt like we were treated as though we were special and not just another wedding. I could not recommend this venue enough. I am in the wedding coordination field, and so it was especially important to me that I had my perfect wedding, and it truly was!
May,2013 we had our wedding reception at the Medalist Golf course. We rented there big tent, and got lots of help and support with planning. Kelly was great!! The food was amazing and bar service was fast and friendly. Their staff helped break down everything at the end of the night. If anything was left behind Kelly and the staff made sure it would be put away for us. Overall great day/evening. Wouldn't change a thing!!

My husband and I chose to rent the outside tent at the Medalist for our reception. The tent was perfect for our "rustic country" theme. The tent was exceptionally clean and the cobblestone pavers & string lights were a unique touch that brought a soft, humble feel to our evening reception. And, the food and beverages were reasonably priced compared to other nearby venues.
Kelly Perian, the wedding planner at the Medalist Golf Course, was absolutely wonderful! She was genuine and a good listener. She offered so many ideas and options to us, while always keeping our budget in mind. She delivered everything she promised AND more! She helped make our wedding planning stress-free and enjoyable.

I have to say that we pretty much nailed it when it came to using the Medalist as our venue and also having Kelly Perian as our event planner. Kelly helped us to create the most perfect day. She worked with us from day one and was extremely accommodating to all of our requests and demanding questions. We feel blessed that we were able to work with her! The grounds were absolutely beautiful to take pictures on, (especially for our fall occasion) and the set up for how we wanted the ceremony and reception turned out exactly as we asked. We wanted something that seemed a bit more relaxed with a country/outdoorsy feel to it but that would appeal classy for our special day and I thought The Medalist was the perfect place! It turned out to be an absolute dream come true and a night we will never forget; even despite the rain. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They even allowed us to stay for an extra hour of reception time (for a small fee) because we didn't want the night to end! :) We would highly recommend this venue over any others in the area for planning a beautiful wedding you never want to forget!

My wife and I were married at the Medalist at the end of September of 2013. We were worried about the weather this time of year and the forecast leading up to our wedding day was rain and highs in the 50's. However, the rehearsal and wedding day were perfect - sunny and high around 75 and at night it cooled into the mid 60's. The staff at the Medalist were very accommodating, friendly, and helped everything run smoothly. We were their first "dry wedding" and they helped ensure that it stayed that way at the reception while still accommodating those who wanted to drink at the restaurant bar. The food was very delicious and they offered a decent variety of choices and price points. We had around 200-250 guests and it wasn't a problem. Comparatively to the other venues we looked at, the cost of everything was around 2/3 the cost of other venues but this has more value and better service. Would definitely recommend this venue to others - easily one of the best venues for the price in southwest Michigan.
My husband and I got married at the Medalist in September of 2013. First, Kelly was awesome. She was just what we needed as a wedding planner as she was straight-forward, friendly, and had great ideas to give. Second, the grounds are gorgeous, especially in the fall. Bright fall colors in the trees, the flowers were still in bloom around the grounds, and everything was perfect for an outdoor wedding. Third, the service and staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and I feel like I didn't have to worry as much because they were professional and easy to work with. I liked that the bridal party could get ready on site and they had great accommodations for us. There are plenty of places to get great photos as well, so our photographers were pleased. To be honest, me, my husband, and our families were very pleasantly surprised when at the end of the day we thought, "Wow! Nothing went wrong, everything turned out wonderful!" We definitely look back on our wedding day very, very fondly. Our guests were talking about how awesome our wedding was for weeks after! :) If we had to do over again, we would choose the Medalist again, for sure!
We got married at the Medalist in July 2014 and it was absolutely perfect. Kelly took great care of us as well as all the other really helpful and professional staff! We set a budget and almost didn't even look into having our wedding there because we thought it would be out of our price range, but Kelly worked hard to help us plan a wedding that we would be proud of within our budget. The food was awesome, the service was excellent and everything went smoothly. Kelly coordinated every detail and even recommended other vendors and we chose the DJ's that she recommended. They way the did the bar was very flexible and we were able to spend a set amount on alcohol without our guests feeling slighted. We even had a Dark Horse keg. We also had our rehearsal dinner there the night before and it was perfect. I could not think of a single thing that we didn't like about our experience with the Medalist.
The medalist was extremely helpful with all aspects of our special day. We were able to bring in a band, and set up exactly how we wanted. - everything was beautiful! The food was excellent and reasonably priced. I would recommend this romantic setting to anyone getting married in the area.
We knew we wanted an outdoor venue for the reception and The Medalist was perfect. Everything was exactly how I had planned. The onsite wedding coordinator was somewhat difficult to work with but overall our plans came our perfectly and better than I could have imagined.
Everything was great at the Medalist. It was clean and the food was very good. My only complaint was a rude bartender, but I am betting that she does not work there anymore. Avoind the field salad!

Everything was absolutely perfect for our wedding. Dan Prichard, the Medalist event cordinator, was a HUGE help and very nice. I would suggest everyone having their fairytale wedding here!
It was outside the golf course had a beautiful pond with a great fountain in it. The grass was beautiful green with endless amounts of picture spots and the reception tent was nestled away from the golfers;little cans of OFF would have been great favors come evening time...they weren't terrible but unwelcome
