They checked in frequently throughout and were key in helping to create a great timeline and set list. They were able to learn songs that were most important to us and played them brilliantly. Most importantly, they had the dance floor rocking all night long! Their 90's pop medley may have been the best song I heard all year. We would highly recommend working with them!!

unlike any other you’ll find in the industry.(besides the music of course!) we booked our wedding originally for Labor Day weekend of 2020 which had to be rescheduled to February of 2021 and the team kept in contact every step of the way. They even worked with us to adjust our plans to fit our new day and schedule so that everything ran smoothly. The band members were FABULOUSLY talented as well as welcoming and kind. I planned a surprise performance for my husband which they were kind enough to schedule a practice with me on the day of. The whole team was incredibly supportive despite my nerves and made sure I felt comfortable and ready to shine. I would hire them again without question- they were the perfect fit for our fun filled day!

We had a lot of specific requests and they accommodated every single one flawlessly (for example, we asked for some piano instrumental versions of Lord of the Rings songs to play before the ceremony and gave very specific timing instructions for songs to walk down the aisle to). They helped us have an amazing hora, kept timelines on track by announcing speeches and parent dances, and ended their set with a great performance of Don't Stop Believin. I highly recommend the Met Players for a band that's truly excited, fun, and talented! We hadn't seen them live before we booked, but based on reviews and word of mouth we felt comfortable booking anyway and from the first email we got from our event coordinator I knew we made the right choice. We loved them, and so did our guests because we got many, many compliments!

and learned favorites like Barbie Girl, Dancing On My Own, and Danza Kuduro just for us. We weren't even sure if Danza Kuduro was a reasonable request - the singer would have to speak Spanish - but they totally delivered. So much fun. The list of songs they already know is really extensive and we loved that they were willing to learn a bunch of songs for us. Some of the bands we looked at capped custom requests at 2 songs, maybe 3. The Met Players didn't set a cap, though I'm sure there is one at some point. We didn't reach a limit and we got everything we hoped for. Also, Barbie Girl was a late add - the Barbie movie blew up and we thought it would be fun to add it to the mix. They learned it 2 weeks before the wedding. I wouldn't necessarily suggest putting requests in on such short notice, of course. I'm sure they appreciate having more time :) Their communication in the planning process was also awesome. Very thorough, friendly, and responsive.

tor that we were assigned, Mandy, was also our sound engineer and all-around go-to person on the day of the wedding. Mandy is friendly, professional, and patient. We had so many questions for her to make sure everything would go smoothly, and all of our requests were met with care. As a musician myself, the seamless logistics of the day (especially when it comes to sound), were very important to me. Every step of the way, Mandy answered e-mails, questions, hopped on Zoom calls with us. We were truly in the best hands and we felt like everything would be taken care of on the day-of. When there are a million things going on on the day of your wedding, you just have to put your faith and trust in the vendors. And I felt more than comfortable doing this with The Metropolitan Players. Now, on to the band. Oh... my... GOODNESS, they totally blew our socks off! Our setup included everything - the four vocalists, the horns, drums, bass, keyboards, etc. The band knocked it out of the park. They satisfied all of our requests and exceeded our expectations, both musically and energetically. Singers and instrumentalists were coming out into the audience. Arrangements were tight. Singing was powerful and on-point. They made our guests, and us, feel like rockstars. Our guests made sure to let us know afterwards that the band was one of the best features of the night. We went for a more vintage vibe with a lot of funk, soul, and R&B. The Metropolitan Players DELIVERED. If you are looking to have live music at your wedding, it certainly enhances the experience and makes it more than memorable. And The Metropolitan Players is your go-to band for your wedding, given their professionalism, high level of musicianship, efficiency, and just overall kindness and friendliness. azing the band was and my only wish was they could have played for like, 10 hours! Everyone was up and dancing the whole time which was what I really wanted. And I have to share that on the night of the wedding, they came to me because our timeline was running behind overall, and they suggested we get started on the speeches to help move things along (as well as helped me make decisions about what we could keep and cut from the initial plan music-wise). My reaction when they first told me was, "Let me check about what I should do with my wedding planner," and they said, "Ok! But you're the bride, it's your day, and you should do what you want," and I can't even explain how empowering and grounding that was in the moment. We had a Jewish and Dominican wedding and they were able to seamlessly work with us on all our special music, plus include special custom first dances, our friend singing with the band, and more. They are worth every penny!

was our time to book a band, I went right to the Met Players. Everyone was raving about the band. “Fantastic!” was the buzz word of the night. They had our guests moving and smiling the entire time. One couple said, “we’ve never danced so much at a wedding in our lives, including our own.” Starting from the initial inquiry with Erin, we knew were in good hands. Eventually communication was handed off to Mandy and she was very attentive. She answered all my questions, helped navigate the timeline and where our special request songs should be played. The night of our wedding, no issues at all. Wish we could have kept the night going!

Both the Denver and Travers versions are a little fast and not exactly danceable. I was a little worried about that, but for sentimental reasons that had to be "the song." My worries were for naught. The Metropolitan Players performed a beautiful version with a very danceable tempo. I so appreciated the care they took to help create a moment I will treasure always.

They sang their hearts out, had fun horn solos, and would lock eyes with me (bride) like a concert, and we’d do the rock and roll hand sign to each other. It was SO much fun. Our guests LOVED the band. When we were gathering ourselves before our first dance, we looked at each other and said wait a second, is that OUR wedding band?! Playing our first dance song?! Do I hear horns?! They’re so good!! How lucky are we! People would come up to us and say holy cow did you hire a 30 person wedding band?! No, of course not, but they had the presence and sound that carried as if they were a much larger band. REPEAT CUSTOMERS - A bit about our process - we went to a number of showcases in NYC, where wedding bands play live, so you know what you’re getting before hiring them. We got a ton of quotes (~15). We parsed through bands we’d seen at other weddings. We saw many bands who were much worse live than they were in their videos - scary when you’re booking them for one very important day! When first engaging with the Met Players, we were nervous because they don’t do any live showcases (they cost a lot of money and don’t want to pass that financial burden onto couples in final booking costs.) We thought - how can we be sure they’re great if we can’t hear them live? We went back and forth with Mandy (couple coordinator) to get comfortable. We scoured the internet and any tagged videos on YouTube and Instagram. Unlike other bands, they post unedited content, so the sound is what you’d actually hear the night of (shot on iPhone speakers). We read every review we could find on the internet. We spoke to couples who’d worked with them in the past. Ultimately, while all the research and people we spoke to did wonders to help us get comfortable, the final piece that sold us was the number of repeat customers. Many reviews were from friends or family of a couple that hired the Met Players in the past, who loved them so much that they booked them for their own. Families who’d worked with the Met Players two and three times. Everyone had great things to say so we took a leap of faith. And we are SO glad we did!! The unedited videos don’t do justice for what they sound like in person - they’re much better! END TO END A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE We can’t say enough good things about the Met Players. They’re spectacular, seem to be having as much fun as the guests, have great energy, are amazing performers, and are exceptionally organized and informative throughout the process. We asked them to learn a few new songs for us (including, importantly, our first dance song) and each one felt like they’d been playing it for years - they were that good. They paired our first dance song down to be our desired length - even better than the original! We had a guitarist play during our ceremony, acoustic and beautiful, and not two hours later were tearing up the dance floor. The dance floor was packed all night! If we were to plan our wedding again knowing what we know now, we’d choose the Met Players again, every time. We’re so grateful for everything you did to make our wedding special and feel like us. rt set on booking a band from the start. We were a very easygoing couple with wedding planning but finding the right band was by far the hardest decision in the entire process. We spoke to so many bands and even went to see a few live. Even though we didn’t see the Met Players live, there was something different about our first meeting with Erin that finally made me feel excited about hiring a band for our wedding. We have been planning our wedding with them since Summer 2019 and they felt like personal friends to us as we navigated postponing an extra year due to Covid. I joked multiple times that they were our wedding band but also therapists. The day of the wedding, the bridal party got to the venue early and the band was practicing in the other room. We could hear Kelsey singing “All I Want for Christmas is You,” the song we requested for our encore, and people started turning around saying “Did you hire Mariah Carey?!” They did an amazing job from start to finish and kept everyone on the dance floor, from the 10 year olds to the 85 year olds. Our venue even told us that The Met Players were one of the most organized and smoothly-run bands they have ever had there. Don’t hesitate to book them!!

From the moment I started emailing with Erin, I knew she was my person. She had every detail figured out, timelines done early, ideas left and right. She was there with us through the entire process, including a COVID postponement. She made sure we got everything worked out during such a stressful time. Her enthusiasm and true love for what she does was so apparent and when our band played, you could feel it! Everyone raved about our band! They were AMAZING! We had a 10 person band--they played all of the classics and learned some of our favorite songs just for us (Paramore was a hit!). They also had music playing the whole night. Even when some members took a break, others kept playing. Our friends and family were on the dance floor the entire night! I literally can't recommend them enough! I am sad to think that our day is behind us but we have the most amazing memories (and videos) to remind us of what a wonderful day we had!
