The Mettey Chapel & Event Center

with the Mettey staff and the wedding went super smooth! It was amazing to have the chapel, bridal suite and event center for the reception all within 100 yards of one another. Parking was a breeze and the Mettey also offered us golf carts to rent (which we did, and were super happy we got them). Planning, attention to detail and flexibility were just 3 of the Mettey team's strengths, which we certainly appreciated. We would use the Mettey Chapel and Event Center without hesitation!

I had so many people ask for my venue name after the wedding because they want to get married there. Pictures are absolutely stunning & your wedding pics will be phenomenal. The event center is HUGE & also beautiful. The bridal suite is also super nice. Definitely the biggest pro of this place is how much it stands out visually among other places. •They have uplights in the chapel & event center you can choose any color for. I chose purple for both buildings (same as my bridesmaids dresses) & it showed up beautifully in pics & was such a great visual touch. •The venue is run by Matthew 25 Ministries so i love that the money goes towards an amazing disaster relief organization. •The venue provides all of the tablecloths, tables & chairs. They sit down with you & make a floor plan & will set those all up for you. They also provide a dance floor (16x16 was the biggest they had available at my wedding, but they said they were working on getting a 20x20). •The venue staff is SO friendly. They were great the day of the wedding, helped when asked & weren’t overbearing. They were kind, always easy to find, & set up everything the way we asked. One of the tables had the wrong tablecloth on the morning of the wedding & they quickly switched it out for us when we asked. That was the ONLY mistake the day of, which says a lot about how great they were. •Communication was easy. Everyone was kind & professional. Cons: •The BIGGEST con was that they don’t allow you to set up wedding decor the day before the wedding (or anytime the week of). This added SO much stress because we had to do all of our setup the morning of. If we could’ve had an open morning rather than rushing to set up decor & then rushing to the bridal suite, it would have been such a better experience. It caused so much stress having to pull together family members & friends to volunteer to come at 8:45am to set up as fast as possible. When we did our rehearsal (2 days before the wedding), they already had our tables set up so I truly don’t understand why we couldn’t have set up decor early since they didn’t have any events going on before ours. •Along with having to set up the day of, you have to clean up the day of. You only get the event center til 11, so you really can only have your wedding til 10 so there’s time to clean up. Timing-wise, that was completely fine with me but if you want a late wedding, keep that in mind. It also added some stress making sure I had enough volunteers to clean up afterwards. •There are not that many places to take pics outside. We did our first look behind the chapel and that was it. We went to a park nearby for more photo opportunities. We were able to do that because we took photos before the ceremony. But if you aren’t doing a first look, there’s not many outdoor picture spots around the venue. •It’s expensive. •The venue is new so they definitely are still learning. Maybe this was only an issue for me since I had my wedding 8 months after they opened up, but they had a lot of weird or random rules and things they were still in the process of figuring out. None of this was dealbreaking and definitely didn’t affect the actual wedding day. But it was a bit confusing and added extra stress. For being brand new, they did an AMAZING job. and they even brought in a variety of games for our attendees to play during our free times! The food was also terrific. I'd highly recommend using the Mettey Event Center for any type of event you're looking to plan.
