They always took the time to answer all my questions, no matter how small or random and made us feel 100% taken care of the day of so that all we had to worry about was having fun with each other and our guests. The spaces at the hotel are stunning and need so little additional décor because of it which is a huge benefit, and the food is incredible - huge dinner portions, but quality is not sacrificed for quantity. When my husband and I were too busy and excited to eat, they made sure to send all of our food - entrees, bread basket, cake - to our suite so that we didn't miss out on our wedding meal and could take it home and enjoy it the next day. We are so, so happy we chose to get married at the W and cannot imagine having had our wedding anywhere else - HIGHLY recommend!

ven able to upgrade our "VIP" family member's rooms at no additional charge. I stayed in the Marvelous Suite and my bridal party and I got ready in there the morning of the wedding. They brought up a refrigerator, extra mirrors, and high chairs to accommodate hair/makeup. The suite was AMAZING! Spacious enough and two bathrooms was definitely helpful. Our family and my husband and I also were surprised to receive a nice bottle of champagne/wine and some dessert when we got back to our rooms after the Rehearsal Dinner and on our Wedding night. They were very helpful with checking in and checking out as well. I would recommend working with W City Center for any large group events!

A little over a month later and our family and friends are still talking about what a perfect day it was and how much they enjoyed everything about the wedding and the W. Working with Derrick through the sales and initial signing process was amazing. He was incredibly attentive and responsive, even when we showed up over 30 minutes early for our appointment to see the space he was so accommodating to us. His attention to detail and quick responses to all or our correspondences was definitely a factor in our choice of the W. Once we signed our contract that attention and responsiveness was maintained and again exceeded our expectations. Rachel joined Derrick and took over coordinating responsibilities for our wedding and she was just as fantastic to work with. I definitely wouldn’t say I was a bridezilla or anything, but I did send Rachel quite a few novel length emails of questions and thoughts, and she was always quick to reply with answers to all of my questions and additional thoughts of her own. It was really a cohesive planning process with her. Many of my friends and family thought I was crazy not hiring a wedding planner for my Chicago wedding when I live in New York, but Rachel helped in every aspect and in many ways was my wedding planner. I consulted her for everything from reception order of events, to ballroom setup, and even table settings. Towards the end of the planning process we wanted to add a few fun “extras” to our wedding, and Rachel gave us so many great ideas for what to do (ultimately added some late night food and a s’mores station for our guests at the reception which were both big hits). On the day of our wedding Rachel was there with us ensuring everything was perfect (which it was). I’ve been gushing so much about the staff, but another important note is that the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception space are all absolutely beautiful. I loved that original 1920’s architectural detail that you can see everywhere. The space itself also provides such a nice flow of events, since it’s all on one floor and all in separate rooms, there is no commotion of space turnover. I just absolutely loved that. I could honestly talk forever about how fantastic the W is and how beautiful the ballroom and entire event space is, but I’ll just say it was beautiful and perfect and ideal for a chilly fall day in Chicago. Rachel , Derrick and the entire staff of the W was so exceptionally accommodating to us and all of our family and friends throughout our whole wedding weekend. We had the best time planning our wedding with Rachel and an even better time on our wedding day when we got to see everything we planned come to life. If you’re considering the W as your wedding venue, in my opinion you won’t be disappointed with the level of service here and the actual event spaces.

Most our guest stayed at the W which was even better. Our out of town guest loved it! The food for the cocktail hour and the receptions was outstanding! Pricing for this whole event was amazingly reasonable! It was the "Best Day Ever"!

Never have we been to a large event like we had with such impeccable service. The staff was on point, professional and so nice we can't say enough about them. If anyone is wondering where to have a great wedding in Chicago, don't wonder about the W City Center. You cannot go wrong... They did so much for us it's impossible to list on this site.

Communication with the venue was amazing! They answered emails within minutes typically at most a few hours. Which was a huge bonus for us! We had a beautiful wedding and we loved the space! We would highly recommend this venue!!!

is so incredibly stunning on its own you don't need to. Derrick and Rachel were amazing to work with. They went above and beyond including answering every annoying phone call and last minute email, making sure our suite and rooms to get ready in had enough water, tissues, etc, and mediating a tasting for us when there was a difference in opinions. Our out of town guests loved the rooms, the location, and the newly renovated lobby. I can't say enough good things about this venue and would highly recommend it for a swanky, downtown wedding experience!

After a long day we returned to our room to find our find our favorite cocktails + late night bites :) Not to mention, the venue has seamless flow between where our ceremony (Great Room II), cocktail hours (Plateau), and reception (Great Room I- soaring 25' ceilings) were all hosted! SOPHISTICATION MEETS BEAUX-ARTS CHARM... TRULY A HIDDEN GEM IN CHICAGO. Cannot say enough good things.

uets team had smiles on their faces all night, were extremely friendly to all of the guests, and I had multiple people make comments about this. Everything was timed perfectly, the food was so great, and I was told that cocktail hour had the best apps of any wedding venue from many people. My Catering Sales Manager was on top of everything, took notes EVERY time we connected, didn't skip a beat, and the entire night was flawless because of her great communication that she had with her team. She was very responsive and passionate about her job too - LOVED working with her! The venue is stunning with the high ceilings, gorgeous chandeliers, and gold ceilings BUT aside from that, the service is what made this wedding 100% perfect. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

The history of the hotel is so cool and the details that the W have kept played a large role in making our decision to book our reception at the W City Center. My profession is in design, so beautiful interiors and architecture were a very important detail for me to have for our reception space. Over the course of time since we signed a contract with the W, there were a few change-ups with our coordinator (we originally signed with Jessie and LOVED her) but we strongly believe it worked out for the best, as it lead us to work with Derrick Valenti (who we LOVE & ADORE!). Derrick and his team went above and beyond to ensure that the day was exactly how we envisioned it, the service was impeccable and the assurance to please us and our guests was never ending. Derrick is responsive, keeps it real and personal, he is understanding and he gets the job done in a way that isn't just satisfactory, but amazing. Derrick was such a blessing to have as our Coordinator at the W and we are so happy that we were able to work with him to finish up the process and have him see it through - our Wedding reception was our dream. Thank you Derrick & team - we had the best day of our lives and you helped make it happen! I would highly suggest checking out the W to anyone in need of a beautiful space, boutique hotel feel, great service, amazing food & drinks and of course, wonderfully helpful and caring staff.

cess was picking W Chicago - City Center for our venue. From the guestroom block to the ballrooms to every employee, the event was perfect. We did our ceremony and reception at the hotel. The hotel has the perfect layout for this. All on the same floor but all separate spaces that flow right from Ceremony to the cocktail hour to dinner. We had so many compliments on the food and staff. Most of our guests were from out of town, so having the entire event at the hotel made it seamless for all involved. The hotel has unique and incredible spots for pictures. Incredible historic architecture. The ballrooms have gorgeous chandeliers and 25' ceilings with no pillars. Their bridal suites are all on different floors (so your bride or groom will not see you) and really great spaces to use all day to get ready in and also looked great in our photos. Derrick, the Catering Sales Manager who handles weddings does a fantastic job. He is personal, friendly and professional. I highly recommend this hotel and cannot rave about it enough.

of the event. Our guests from out of town really enjoyed getting drinks and spending time in the lobby, which we did many times over the course of the week. The bar staff were always very polite and were wonderfully patient with the often large groups that we brought to the lobby, and were wonderful about bringing drinks to us even though we weren’t necessarily seated in the bar. It truly provided a fun and beautiful location for everyone to meet for the various events that we had planned during the week, and many people often commented about how fantastic the location was. The day-of prep room was perfectly equipped with stations for my hairdressers and makeup artists. They even arranged for our suite to have chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne when we returned from our wedding later in the evening. Rose and her team made our group feel very special throughout the weekend, and we will never forget how instrumental the W team and the hotel itself were in making our wedding such a fantastic occasion. We would highly recommend using the W Hotel City Center for weddings or any other events.

The mezzanine level was perfect for the cocktail hour . The hotel is a blend of historic Chicago architecture along with an updated modern Art Deco vibe. It lent itself perfectly to our Chicago themed wedding and our guests were not only impressed with the venue as the wedding reception site but those that stayed at the hotel loved their experience and the hotel amenities. Every detail and request we made was carried out to perfection and we couldn't have been happier.
