The Miners 1928 Hotel

My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Miners! The entire staff was so attentive, caring, and dedicated throughout the entire weekend, making sure everything went off without a hitch. The venue is absolutely gorgeous for a wedding reception, and staying at the hotel was truly a luxurious experience. Our guests cannot stop talking about how beautiful everything was! They especially loved the photo booth we set up inside the old bank vault, as well as the thoughtful details throughout the building, from the beautifully refurbished original bank features to the incorporation of the area’s coal mining history. Shannon, Tracy, and Lianna went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly how we envisioned it. They checked in on us throughout the day to make sure everything was running smoothly and that we had everything we needed. A special shout-out to Frederick, who was in charge of guest experience and was equally attentive, reassuring, and wonderful throughout the entire weekend. We also want to recognize all of the servers, bartenders, check-in crew, and cleaning staff. Every single person we interacted with was kind, attentive, and professional. It was clear that this team was made up of seasoned professionals who genuinely care about the experience they provide. We also love seeing Pottsville grow into an up-and-coming destination with so much beautiful architecture and rich history to offer. The town has so much charm, along with an abundance of wonderful local businesses to support, from florists and bakeries to bars, restaurants, salons and clothing boutiques. Having so many local vendors to choose from makes planning a wedding here even more special and gives couples the opportunity to incorporate the community into their big day. We felt completely at ease and knew we were in the best hands, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy every moment of our wedding weekend. We are so grateful to the entire team at The Miners for helping make our wedding so special. We would recommend this venue without hesitation to anyone looking for a truly exceptional experience!

Cannot say enough good things about The Miners 1928. The venue itself is absolutely stunning. As a Pottsville native, I loved how the bank’s history and Pottsville’s roots in coal mining are highlighted throughout the hotel, lounge and reception area. Pictures of the reception area do not do it justice. All of our guests were wowed by the restored vault and high ceilings. What made our wedding day extra special was the Miners’ staff—particularly Shannon and Tracy. We had originally planned to hold our ceremony at an off site, outdoor venue. However, a nor’easter had other plans in mind. The morning of our wedding I sent a text to Shannon at 7AM asking if we could have our ceremony at the Miners. Shannon immediately eased my panic and executed a flawless ceremony. While my husband and I had portraits done, she was rehearsing the processional with my bridal party. Shannon and Tracy and extremely professional, creative and effective as a team. Our wedding day could have gone very differently if it was not for their quick thinking, round the clock availability, and commitment to making this day everything Nick and I dreamed of. Our wedding package also included use of Oak Hollow Designs’ decor. The owner, Cheryl, went above and beyond with set up and coordination. She seamlessly integrated our decor with hers and similarly made day of changes to our plans to accommodate the ceremony venue relocation. We 100% recommend entrusting the Miners team with your special day!
