The Mining Exchange, A Registry Collection Hotel

Exchange were. We had about 200 guests and a big block of rooms and everyone was amazing. From Mark at guest services to Kelsey at the front desk - and Katie and Andrel helping us organize the block of rooms - we couldn’t have done it without them. But Hanne - the wedding and event manager - and Shelby - the general manager - were absolutely the best. 2 days before the wedding Hanne randomly received a call saying our florist had gone out of business and would not show up for the wedding. First of all, we would not have known had Hanne not had close contacts with other vendors in Colorado Springs. Of course we were in a panic but Hanne worked tirelessly after hours to help us find someone to step in to do our flowers. Amazingly, Shelby - The Mining Exchange general MANAGER - previously did flowers so she took off work Friday and Saturday to be our florist. This is going above and beyond!! The night turned out beautiful and the flowers were gorgeous. Also, the food was delicious. I highly recommend The Mining Exchange!!

Hanne is the event coordinator at the Mining Exchange and she was so wonderful to work with. She responded to all my calls and emails on the same day. Every time I would panic about something in the wedding, Hanne had a solution. She really listened to what we wanted for our wedding and she made it happen. I wanted something major changed a week before the wedding, and Hanne worked with me to accomplish it. She was always available for a meeting if I wanted and always accommodated us. She had great communication with the vendors and with me. If I could give the Mining Exchange more stars, I would. I highly recommend this venue to anybody.

found that I could not get anyone to return my calls or help me in any way. However, everything changed after they hired Hanne Murray. She has done a great job of communicating with me and helping me plan my event. She really stepped things up after I developed a massive blood clot the night before my wedding. She did an amazing job of handling all the details while I tried to figure out if I was going to be able to leave the hospital for my ceremony or not. In the end, I had a short ceremony and went straight back to the hospital afterwards. She kept the part going for my guests at the hotel, and I was very impressed with the way their entire staff handled everything. Great value for great service!

inquire about venues to the very end was delightful. We had a few different choices at the Mining Exchange and we ended up choosing The Gold Room. We couldn't have been more pleased !!Hanne is so professional and calming which is greatly appreciated when planning the perfect wedding reception. I was so impressed with how prompt she was with communicating and responding to any questions or concerns. She has impeccable taste herself and her ideas and suggestions were amazing. The vision my daughter had for her reception was completely carried out and was better than she could have ever imagined. People remarked afterwards that this was the party of the year! Amazing food/menu, beautiful tables, gold chiavari chairs, perfect lighting and sound, an open bar both upstairs and downstairs, and all requests fulfilled which made for the most incredible reception ever. I highly recommend hosting your wedding reception or any special event at the Mining Exchange because you are not only getting a tremendous choice of venues, but a team of professionals led by Hanne who will make all your ideas and dreams become a reality. place was just beyond what we imagined for our special day. We quickly set up a meeting with the lovely Hanne Murray and things fell into place very smoothly and quickly. Hanne was extremely organized and made the planning so easy. She made planning the biggest day of our lives not only fun but we were always excited. I never had to worry about anything because I knew that Hanne was on top of every detail of our special day. She walked us through each step, kept track of our budget, and kept us on track with our timeline. Each time I talked to her, whether it was by email, over the phone, or in person, Hanne was always prepared and ready to answer any questions I had. Hanne would return calls and reply to emails in a very reasonable amount of time no matter how many questions I had. Despite the few bumps that you are guaranteed to run into with planning such a detail oriented event, Hanne always had a way to figure things out. I did not feel like just another client. Hanne made our experience personable and I felt like I was working with a friend. All the staff at the Mining Exchange were always helpful and pleasant. I was always greeted in a friendly manner by the valet and the staff attending to the front desk. The staff working my wedding were just fabulous! From Hanne, to the team lead, to the staff setting up our ceremony and reception area, to the chefs making our tasty food, to the bartenders, to everyone else who truly made our day a success, I could not have asked for better people to be apart of our big day. I highly recommend the Mining Exchange not only because it is a wonderful and beautiful building with an authentic Colorado history, but because working with the staff, especially Hanne Murray, was an absolute privilege.

ce someone would leave, they did not hire a new contact for quite some time. We didn't receive our BEO's or cost estimate until we were a couple days out from our event, which was really stressful because we did not know what it would cost or that all our details were accounted for after so many hand offs. Their bell staff, front desk, and catering staff were amazing, though. I would just recommend against using the Mining Exchange until they have a full time wedding coordinator hired again.

by is really high end with a piano, oversized sofas, and lots of grand artwork and detail. They have double-showers in the rooms with shower heads from both sides which is super cool and the guests were really wowed by. The rooms were pretty nice, and since they knew it was our wedding night, they gave us a bottle of champagne and a chocolate dessert that was super cute and thoughtful. The hotel is attached to Spring Orleans, a really great restaurant, and has a super cute cobblestone outdoor alley where you can host events, have a cocktail, etc. My biggest complaint would be that the hotel does not have a complimentary shuttle to the downtown areas like the other hotels in the area (Holiday Inn, Quality Suites, Clarion). They should really get on that! Other than that, it can be a little intense to work with them, they have a contract for all reserved room blocks that covers every detail of the arrangement, and it is difficult to anticipate what you will need and work it into the contract, since getting the room block and venue is one of the first things you do when wedding planning. Overall, everyone seemed really pleased with the location and accommodations.

There are so many things that I had to deal with, up to the day of the wedding, I don't have time to list them all. I had a day of coordinator who dealt with everything on our wedding day, but all of the pre-event communication and scheduling was impossible. I expect much better service from this type of venue and for the price. Communicating with this venue was the single most stressful part of planning our wedding. Only book here if the venue is your dream because their service will become your nightmare. FYI – their room block has a minimum of 10 rooms and you will be required to fill 100% of the rooms. My guest could not book a room through retail channels for one night, hotel had a 3-night minimum on hotels.com. As a corporate meeting planner, this is very uncommon as most hotels will let you release unused rooms. The location is great and the look of the hotel is unique.

e a new one was hired. After a couple months of communicating with the new event planner, we were transferred without warning to a new wedding coordinator they hired. With all three people over six months it was extremely difficult to have phone calls or emails answered or returned. This made it hard to plan with other vendors. One decoration we wanted to include ended up not happening because we had mixed answers from the different people about it being allowed. Once we found out it would be okay, it was too late to order. Additionally, one of the stations we had paid for was not at our reception. Finally, the wedding coordinator said he would announce us entering the reception and left before that portion of the evening with no one replacing him.

intment to tour the facilities at the Mining Exchange as we were excited about the possibility to have our reception there. When we arrived we ended up waiting over 15 minutes past our appointment time and had to flag down someone at the Welcome desk to contact Larry, whom we booked an appointment through. When we finally were able to meet with Larry, we felt like he wasn't prepared to speak on each venue he showed us and didn't have an updated pricing list. I asked him to send me a quote for our desired package and it has been over two weeks after our initial meeting and I've followed-up with several calls and a quote for our package has not been received. The venue is beautiful, but the level of customer service, especially for such a costly commitment, needs a vast improvement. Please beware when thinking of booking the Mining Exchange and I hope something drastic changes!

The whole room has the original brick from when the building was first established, and huge arched windows. This room even has a private terrace for your event. It was perfect for getting some fresh air and especially for photo-ops! The staff was great, we worked with the same coordinator the entire time, Whitney Peterson. She was absolutely fabulous, was super responsive to emails, and genuinely cared about making everything perfect for our big day! During the event, the whole catering staff was wonderful, and made sure plates were cleared in a timely fashion, BUT made sure everyone had their fill and had enough cake before gettin' down on the dance floor. It was overall such a wonderful experience, and we received so many compliments during the reception and even weeks later about the venue, our guests loved it. I would highly recommend the Mining Exchange!
