Perfect venue, very accommodating and works with you well. It was such a beautiful night and the venue made it that much better!

My winter wedding was a dream come true! Getting married at the same place my dad and his siblings went to see movies when they were kids was special to me. Gorgeous chandeliers, great bar to service both sides of the front entrance and the main room. Bride and groom suites to hang out and get ready for the big day helped create the perfect touch. Everything went off without a hitch and I wish I could relive this day over and over! Thank you Mission Theatre!!!

We had the best time having our wedding at Mission Theatre. Everything went smoothly. Sena was great with helping us as we approached our big day. The venue is gorgeous. We got so many compliments from guests!

Mission Theatre was perfect for our big day!! Sena and her team were amazing! She was always there to answer any questions and was very professional and was prepared for it all. Everything was made crystal clear during our final walk through. The venue was the perfect size for us and the bridal suite was the best place to get ready day of as well. We had our ceremony and reception at Mission Theatre and a room flip was required but it was so smooth and hardly noticeable at all. All of our guests were enjoying their drinks and the room was flipped so quick. The bar service was great as well, everyone was truly just so kind and sweet. The marquee sign was one of my favorite touches too, which we were able to customize for our wedding day. We also did all of our pictures on sight as well, utilizing the marquee sign in our photos and the cute alleyway off to the side for our first look. I loved our ceremony on the stage and we placed our sweetheart table on the stage for dinner. Then we were able to celebrate the night away without a worry in the world. Honestly, I have zero complaints. Our wedding day went so smoothly and Mission Theatre and their amazing team was a huge reason why. It was almost scary how stress free our wedding day was. I couldn't recommend this location enough!

I truly could not say enough wonderful things about the Mission Theatre! Not only is the venue absolutely stunning, but the staff is incredibly professional and helpful. Venue manager Sena was always quick to respond to any questions I had and was amazing at helping with any planning details I needed, such as picking out linens or coming up with a table floor plan that best fit our needs. Sena was always incredibly kind and helpful throughout the whole planning process. The day of our wedding, Paige and her team were absolutely fabulous! From the moment we arrived at the venue to the moment we left, the Mission Theatre staff was working hard to help ensure our event went exactly as planned.

We really enjoyed having our reception at the Mission Theatre! First of all, it this venue is right down the street from our apartment, and we love the coziness of downtown Mission. The best part of this venue is the large bride and groom suites; the bridal suite was big enough for 8 women to have hair and makeup done (4 at a time). The suites also make for a great place to sit down and take a breather during the busy day. We had about 215 guests at our reception, and the theatre felt full but not over crowded. The bridal party was seated on the stage, which gave us a perfect vantage point to look out on the crowd during dinner and take in all of our family and friends. This venue was great for our taste, as it is stylish and elegant, but not overdone.

With all the venues to choose from, this one is truly SO unique, special and affordable! The renovated movie theater is beautiful inside with an ambiance that is different than anywhere else. You truly become the stars of your event for all the world and your guests to see - with the red carpet entrance under the two sided movie marquee and three huge movie poster windows to display whatever special photos you choose to enlarge and put on display. Easy to find and great curb appeal with blocks of renewed streets, sidewalks and parking. The layout and amenities inside are awesome and the venue is impressive before you even begin to decorate. The staff is friendly, professional and wonderful to work with - customizing every detail you request and ensuring it's all in place according to your wishes. We couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else, and we are so happy with our choice. For a classic and unique venue with a theme and execution like none other, The Mission Theatre is perfect.

Mission Theatre ended up at the top of our venue list following our tour. We loved the location and the space itself. It was beyond elegant with the grand chandeliers, but still had a cozy, smaller vibe at the same time. We were sold on the fact that the whole bridal party could get ready for the day in one location with the large bridal & groomsmen suites. The staff was timely in responses and stayed organized throughout our planning process.

My husband and I fell in love with The Mission Theatre when we first toured, and as movie lovers, an old theatre was the perfect place to host our wedding reception. The theatre has been beautifully renovated on the inside and out. We especially loved our photos in front of the personalizable marquee. Jaime, the venue manager was amazing to work with, checking in along the way and making sure everything was in place for our special day. All the event staff was amazing during our reception and I cannot thank them enough. I highly recommend choosing The Mission Theatre for your wedding day!

The Mission Theatre is the best place to hold your event! Every member of the staff is very friendly and professional. I specifically worked with Jaimie, she was always available to answer every one of my questions. She helped me throughout the entire process. The space is beautiful! Our guests had the most wonderful time!

Mission Theatre was at the top of my venue list since it opened and after touring, we knew it was the perfect spot to get married! It was so beautiful with the grand chandeliers, yet intimate and cozy at the same time and the large bridal & groomsmen suites set it apart from other venues we toured. We couldn't have imagined a better location for our wedding reception! It was so elegant and even with 150ish people it still felt like an intimate party. Beautiful chandeliers and bar, the spaced required very little outside decoration to make it come to life. Also, the getting ready spaces were a huge plus! I couldn't recommend this space more!

The Mission Theatre was the venue my daughter chose for her wedding. The staff was wonderful to work with! The event space is gorgeous with stunning rooms for the bridal party to get ready in. We had a wonderful experience!

We are cinephiles so we loved the Old Hollywood vibe, and so did our guests. We appreciated that venue staff helped us think through the details of our day ahead of time so everything went smoothly. We had a great experience getting married at Mission Theatre!

We could not have been happier with Mission Theater and Alexis! More importantly, the bride and groom were thrilled with the evening. The ceremony and reception were both there and we did Oscar style seating which was perfect!

Words cannot express how perfect this venue was for us! They have a great bridal and groom’s suite upstairs that was perfect to get ready in and hang out until the reception started. They are very clear on what all they provide and no secret “extra fees”. Alexis the venue manager was great to work with. They also handle the bar and have different bar options to fit your budget. The whole venue staff were so friendly. The venue is beautiful on its own and didn’t feel the need to “decorate”, just had centerpieces on the tables. Very Art Deco and Great Gatsby vibe to it. They also have window boxes for movie posters you can use! Pictures attached. All the wedding guests love the posters and marquee sign!

I had my wedding and reception here and it is a beautiful venue with fantastic people working for them. We delayed our wedding due to Covid and The Mission Theatre worked with us to ensure we got a new date that we were happy with. Alexis was super helpful by answering all of our questions in a timely manner and with being flexible to meet on our schedule. I cannot recommend this venue enough. Seriously go check it out!

We absolutely loved our experience at the Mission Theatre. Alexis was our point of contact and was very prompt in her responses throughout the whole process and was extremely helpful in the planning too. She helped offer some of their provided decor items and offered advice for our schedule throughout the day. The bridal and groom's suites are an amazing atmosphere for getting ready. The personalized marquee, and modern but restored theater accents where some of our favorite parts of the venue. Thank you to the whole staff for your help in making our day so special!

Mission Theatre was absolutely breathtaking! I’m not an emotional person or a cryer, but the sheer elegance and beauty of this venue made me tear up the first time I saw it! The chandeliers offer so much elegance, there’s not much real need for tons of decorations. Then there’s the dream-worthy staircase for a bridal entrance made in the movies!! And the bride suite and grooms room were BEYOND! They are spacious, gorgeously decorated/outfitted with all the luxuries, befitting of a king/queen!! And a king/queen is exactly how you’ll feel after you’ve met the superstar staff of the venue as well!! Our coordinator, Alexis Brewer was nothing short of fabulous!! She was so helpful, communicative and fun to talk to!! I never had any questions go unanswered, no details go unmentioned and never had a worry, knowing that she would be helping to take the reigns on our big day! Plus her fun, bubbly personality made her that much more fun to ‘do business’ with!! I definitely recommend this venue and it’s staff for any couple looking for an unforgettable experience from the first viewing of the space to days after your special day!!! 10/10!

Mission Theatre was the PERFECT venue for our reception. Simply put, it’s beautiful and elegant. Even without the set up. That’s when you know you’re going to have an amazing reception. The bridal and grooms suites are FABULOUS. We had so much fun getting ready in the morning! The marquee is also a great touch as well as the ally. We were able to fit all of our guests and they too spoke very highly of Mission Theatre. The bar line went smoothly & DJ booth is set up comfortably. The back drop was a fabulous touch as well with the string lights!!! We were able to meet with Alexis beforehand and had great communication via email, phone and in person. Mission Theatre is reliable and will deliver EXACTLY what you want. Thank you, Mission Theatre. We had a perfect day!

Erin and I just celebrated our wedding here a couple weeks ago and it was amazing. The space is perfect and not just a "white box" like so many other places we looked at, really has some great character. The staff was very helpful every step of the way from planning, to seating, bar, DJ, and day of coordination with all the vendors. The only thing that we had to do the day of was show up and have an amazing time. Great if you have little ones running around because of the bride and groom suites upstairs that they can escape to as well. Highly recommend this to anyone looking!

Booking our wedding at the Mission Theatre was the absolute best decision we could have made! There was always great communication with them, which if you’re anything like me, that was most important especially during a pandemic. Alexis was our go-to person for our big day and she went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. I would recommend this venue and Alexis over and over and over again. So extremely pleased with everything.

Alexis and her team at Mission Theatre made our day absolutely perfect!!! The bridal suite accommodates a large bridal party and we were all able to do hair and makeup in the suite. The whole staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. We would absolutely recommend The Mission Theatre to anyone looking for a venue in the KC area!!

Due to Covid restrictions in Missouri we had to change venues 3 weeks before and I thought of the Mission Theatre immediately, called them and they had the date we needed available! We booked it right then! I truly believe it was meant to be! Desiree and staff were amazing and so helpful. The Reception was amazing and so much fun. Mission Theatre is stunning! I got to work with The Mission Theatre team as a planner for my client, and it was truly an amazing event! The staff is so attentive ans present with what is happening throughout the event - they really care! The huge bridal suite and grooms suite is also a huge perk! We had the venue for 15 hours and my bride lived getting to get ready there instead of come later. A beautiful place to uoat your most important day!!

When you walk into a venue as the FOB and your daughter instantly falls in love with the bridal suite you know you have found the right location. Add to that Mission Theatre is setup with a double sided bar, a built in DJ stand and special lighting is already located in the venue. The owners have done a great job converting an old movie theatre building into a beautiful wedding venue with a marquee out front to announce the bride and groom’s special day.

We were guests at a Mission Theatre event and the place was amazing. The staff was super-helpful and everyone loved the way the space looked on this special night.

I've had the occasion to attend several events at Mission Theater including weddings, receptions and most recently a fundraising event. The space is beautiful with an elegant lobby and well thought out spaces for members of the bridal party. Additionally, the event space itself is a great size and affords all guests the ability to feel a part of the festivities. The sound system has always been excellent and there's a low-level staging area that provides visual access for attendees. Last night I had the opportunity to help with the event and saw the back of the house which services caterers and other event venders. It was spotless and well organized, providing excellent space and set up for those providing food and supplies. This venue provides an amazing space for a great variety of events and I would highly recommend it!

We recently had a fundraiser at Mission Theatre and Kris and her staff were attentive to every detail, very easy to work with and put us at ease throughout the whole night. The space has such charm and photographs beautifully. We will be back again!

As a wedding planner I can absolutely recommend this space. Romantic space with awesome service experience. We always love out weddings here.

We had our annual work holiday party and the venue was amazing! It was set up so nicely to make it feel intimate yet there was enough space to socialize and dance. Michele was such a joy to work with and you can really tell how passionate about what she does and really worked with us on our needs. I would highly recommend the Mission Theater for your next event!

We chose The Mission Theatre as our venue for our fundraiser. Michele and her team were fantastic. Always accommodating, Michele had the venue in perfect condition for our set up. She was a great communicator and available for a few last minute changes. The venue's sound system, bar set up and pricing was fantastic for a non-profit fundraiser. I would definitely use The Mission Theatre again for an event.

We had an event for 250 people at this venue! It was beautiful and Michelle with The Mission Theatre is so great to work with! We would 100% use this venue again and recommend them. The Hope Family Care Center.

I want to start by saying the venue is gorgeous! You really don't need much to put your special day together, because it really is beautiful on it's own. Michele was extremely helpful, she was easy to contact and always got back to me right away- which was really comforting towards the end! The rooms to get ready in are a dream, they are just beautiful. The only thing I would say that disappointed me a little is- I was originally showed the space by Julie, she promised us some things that when she left later where not honored. We also felt a bit rushed towards the end to clean up, there was still some time left that we had the space. Our names and posters were taken down outside, I believe during our reception. I just felt they could have left it up over night, or until everyone had left? All in all this is a beautiful space, and our day was wonderful. Michele is wonderful, just tiny things that disappointed me.

This is a gorgeous venue! Wonderful bridal and groom suites that are perfect for getting ready! Awesome chandeliers and fun wallpaper that really creative beautiful environment. We had a little confusion with a change of coordinators and some planning details but I felt the new coordinator really tried to work with us to resolve everything. Their AC had a little trouble keeping up with the July heat, but they were trying to address it as the day went on. Despite these little bumps in the road, it was still a good experience and our reception was a blast!

I think we were just unlucky with the timing of our booking. Our original coordinator who gave us the tour of the facility and explained all the details of the venue to us left a couple months after we signed the contract. She verbally assured us of certain flexible details that were the ultimate reason we decided to go with this venue, but when we followed up with the new coordinator she was unclear whether or not they would honor the previous coordinator's promises. It wasn't until the month of the wedding until we realized they weren't going to honor them, and honestly, without the perks the original coordinator had promised us, we would have gone with a different venue. Even apart from that disappointment, communication as a whole was poor. As an example, they showed us multiple floor plans leading up to the day of the wedding with tables they apparently didn't have. We were told the morning of our wedding that we needed to rent those tables from a separate vendor, which obviously we weren't able to do on such late notice. However, at the end of it all, it's a very beautiful venue and our guests enjoyed the reception very much. Without knowing the backstory, it would've been a great reception.

This is a wonderful and charming venue. Gorgeous space decorates itself, beautiful "getting ready" rooms - it's so nice that everything is at the same location and has that vintage vibe! Our wedding was in June, and it was incredibly HOT inside, more than just heat from a lot of people in one space. We specifically chose an indoor venue so it would be cool for a summer wedding. I know the staff was working hard to help make it better, but it was much cooler outside and it made me feel bad for guests who had to sweat through it.

Thank you Mission Theatre for all you did to make our wedding day a dream come true! This venue is GORGEOUS! We looked at several venues before deciding on Mission Theatre and are so happy with our decision. The space is large and open which was a must for us. The double sided bar and stage for a band didn't hurt either :) The venue is 100% updated. One of my favorite parts of the day was getting ready in the beautiful (and again large!) bridal suite. The Mission Theatre team, Michelle specifically, were easy to work with and guided us throughout the process. I appreciated the flexibility of the venue when it came to vendors and accommodation of our request. They truly went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. The venue was beautiful and comfortable for our son's wedding reception. The staff was very professional and helpful in making for a stress free event. It met and exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend the venue for a reception or any type of event.

My sister's wedding this past weekend was absolute perfection and that largely had to do with this venue! This space has everything a couple would want/need for their special day. The groom and bridal suites are amazing and made getting ready so cozy and calm. The venue manager, Michele, is a gem! She continuously went above and beyond to help out and she was the easiest to work with. She was the sweetest! I highly recommend this venue and give it a 10/10. It helped to make this day so memorable!

Our wedding was truly a magical and beautiful day and Mission Theatre played a big role in that. We originally booked with Mission Theatre for our ceremony and reception two years in advance of our wedding. We booked with Alexa who was fantastic and partially part of the reason we booked our wedding there (the beautiful bridal suite helped seal the deal too!). We did have to go through some frustrating transitions with a different staff member after Alexa left. However, things drastically improved once we were able to work with Mike and Regan. They went above and beyond to make up for our negative experience with the previous staff member and did uphold the promises that person made us despite most of the promises being undocumented. They were both incredibly kind and patient and seemed genuinely excited to help make our wedding vision a reality. The venue does require that you use Platinum KC as your DJ service (unless you're using a band). We were originally nervous about this, but it was meant to be, because Platinum KC and our DJ, Doug, were fantastic to work with and also helped make our wedding a dream worthy day. This venue is truly unique, which is something that a lot of our wedding guests complimented us on. For example, we had movie posters created to put in the movie poster frames outside the venue that our guests raved over. People also loved that our names were up on the marquee, which of course also made for fabulous photos. One of the best things about the venue though are the bridal and groom suites. My husband and I didn't want to do a first look, but it was nice to have the peace of mind that he was right next door as we got ready the day of our wedding. The rooms are spacious, gorgeously decorated, and also make for great pictures to help memorialize your big day. Some venues also have restrictions on catering, but Mission Theatre was great to work with and didn't put a lot of restrictions on us. We used RJ's-Bob-Be-Que right down the street for food and Hyvee for our cake so we got monetary breaks on delivery fees and it was reassuring that those vendors were so close to the venue. Overall, this place is fantastic, staff are responsive and genuine, and they'll go above and beyond to make sure that you have the best wedding day you could dream of.

Our reception event at the Mission Theatre was outstanding. Mike Sullivant and his team, Regan and Tracy, were fantastic to work with. This venue is so conveniently located and is absolutely beautiful. We had their team handle the AV support and the bar and they did a flawless job from beginning to end. Our band had a fantastic stage to perform on - the room lighting is superb as are the chairs and tables. You cannot go wrong with this venue!

This venue has got it all. I have always been told it is in the details and believe our day was so special and perfect because of all the unique details it had to offer! From the marquee, to movie signs, to the stage, bridal sweet, lighting, stairs, and so much more, we loved it all! Julie was also so easy and flexible to work with and the bar staff was amazing on our big day! Would definitely pick the Mission Theatre again!!

Julie & Mike with Mainstreet Properties are true professionals. Our first contact with the property was through Mike Sullivan. He took us on a tour of the property and had answers for all our questions. He stayed consistent and accommodating throughout the entire process. Julie is the seasoned event host all women rely on as the day gets closer. She had several suggestions on decorations vendors, answered my emails/text messages, and talked through some of the timeline challenges we were facing. The day of the event, she helped our wedding run smoothly and organized the vendors. Honestly, I don't even know what time the food, desert, or KC Pops showed up because Julie took care of it all. I appreciate and recommend everything Julie does on the big day and the months leading up to it.

The venue is beautiful in it's simplicity, allowing you to make it into whatever fits your tastes. The amenities are wonderful, and the staff is extremely helpful. 10/10. Would marry there again.

My fiancée and I are so excited to use the Mission Theatre for our wedding reception! The Bride and Groom's suites are really sweet - the men can play bumper pool, relax, and watch TV, while the ladies have a beautiful studio-like parlor to primp in. Can't wait for my wedding in April!! Also-Mike and Julie are so great and easy to work with. #dreamteam
