nd exceeded our expectations!!! The Mockingbirds were recommended to us by a friend. Both her sisters had the Mockingbirds play at their weddings and they raved about them!! We went to see them live in Boston twice (simply because it was a blast), and booked them! Kyle, the band leader/guitarist, was very quick to respond to any questions I had prior to booking, and was super communicative throughout the whole planning process. We had a planning phone call a couple of months before our big day where we picked our favorite songs from their large playlist. We also had a few honorable mentions that they managed to weave into the night’s set list, while also reading the crowd and keeping guests of all ages out on the dance floor. They played a little bit of everything, and DJ’d songs during their short break to keep the vibes high. We have gotten SO MANY compliments from guests on the band and the overall epic time, thanks to the Mockingbirds. It truly was an epic night. The pictures say more than we can! They also provided sound for our ceremony and DJ’d our recessional song. We highly recommend the acoustic guitar option during cocktail hour; it was a perfect vibe for that part of the night. We chose to have them DJ easy listening music during our dinner portion of the night and they also provided MC services for the reception and flow of the night, which all went perfectly!!! We discussed it all during our planning consult, and Kyle and the band executed it exactly as we planned. They also worked closely with our venue event coordinator to make everything just flow and it all came together better than we imagined. If you’re looking for a way to make your night truly unforgettable, The Mockingbirds are the only band you should look at! Can’t wait to go see them again out in Boston soon, too!!!

I am not joking. The dance floor was absolutely packed all night. Every single person I danced with said some variation of, “The band is INCREDIBLE.” We had uncles and grandparents and nieces and nephews and everyone in between out there getting down the whole night. Even our friend who is literally in a leg cast right now could not keep himself off the dance floor. If you want everyone to have the most fun at your wedding, book the Mockingbirds. Don’t even think about it. And I’d be remiss not to mention that beyond the incredible musicianship and energy, Kyle has been the absolute easiest to work with. He is so easy to talk to, kind, helpful, and communicative. When I asked if they could learn Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen, Kyle was all about it (and don’t even get me started on their vocalist Boston who crushed that incredibly difficult song…) He even let us use his equipment so that we could perform a “first song” together instead of a first dance and was super accommodating helping us figure out the logistics of that. If you’re still having doubts (why?), everyone at our wedding started chanting “ONE MORE SONG” at the end of the night because they couldn’t get enough. Our wedding was literally just a few days ago, but I couldn’t wait to write this review because I’m still riding the high of the best party ever. We love the Mockingbirds!!!

Day of was super easy, they were on time and set up without any issues or obstructions. They performed background music as guests arrived and then also DJ'd our ceremony. Most importantly, when it came time to open the dance floor, they rocked. We added a horn to the ensemble, and they were terrific. The dance floor was packed all night and countless guests came up to us to tell us how awesome the band was. Overall, 5 ⭐ experience. No complaints and I would recommend the Mockingbirds to anyway looking to book a band.

olutely crushed every aspect. They took our song suggestions as noted, and also used their own instinct for songs by judging the crowd throughout the night. It was an absolute blast and the best mood from start to finish. All of our guests kept remarking after that they loved the band. If we did our wedding over 10 times, we would choose The Mockingbirds 10 times.

The music that this band played for us was nothing short of amazing - our family and friends kept saying “this isn’t a wedding band, they’re so much better than that - they’re a rock band!” I walked down the aisle to Everlong by Foo Fighters. our wedding party walked to Today by Smashing Pumpkins, and The Mockingbirds played everything from Country Roads Take Me Home by John Denver to Zombie by The Cranberries. People who NEVER dance in my family were on the dance floor - the most reserved ones who always sit at their tables. I was most excited for The Mockingbirds to play above anything else on our wedding day (except marrying my husband, of course) and they far exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for GREAT music and kind, fun, hardworking people on your team for your wedding day, look no further. Kyle and The Mockingbirds are straight up angels to work with, and their talent is just raw and other-worldly. Thank you for making the best day of our lives perfect.

Finding a band that was both talented and versatile enough to play their preferred music while also excelling at weddings was no easy feat. We were thrilled when we discovered the Mockingbirds. From our first interaction, we felt completely at ease. The band took the time to get to know my daughter and her husband, collaborating on a set list that surpassed their expectations. One unique request they had was to “turn it up” and play some Rage Against the Machine towards the end. The band handled this effortlessly, helping our daughter and her husband have the “mosh pit of their dreams” on their wedding day. The venue had never seen anything like it at a wedding! The Mockingbirds were incredibly dedicated to fulfilling our daughter's wishes and were flexible enough to accommodate a last-minute request to move the music from indoors to outdoors without any objections. Their high energy and ability to read the crowd kept the dance floor packed from the first song to the last. Everyone had an amazing time! Of all the feedback I’ve received from our guests, the most frequent comment is how fantastic the band was. We’re already looking for another reason to throw a party just to have them perform again. We would highly and without hesitation recommend this band!

They were super professional and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. The best part - they have band size options to meet anyone’s needs! We knew when booking a wedding band we wanted someone that played like we were at our favorite bar on a Friday night, but also had a mix of music that our parents and families would enjoy too. That’s exactly what they brought to our wedding! No one left the dance floor for hours and almost a month after the wedding we are still hearing raving reviews about how fun the band was. If you are looking for a high energy band with a wide variety of music, The Mockingbirds should be your top choice!

to dance to live music than a DJ’s mix. My wife took care of just about everything for our wedding and I decided my biggest contribution would be to find us a wedding band. It was a bit discouraging at first as I was finding a lot of bands that just didn’t look like they’d be all that much fun or had a good range of songs they could play. Then I came upon a review (it’s probably still posted below this one on the Knot) of someone saying they had been in the same boat I was in, and their only job as a soon-to-be husband was to find a wedding band, and once they discovered the Mockingbirds they knew they had just found the right group. It was an intriguing review and once I looked more into the band I felt the exact same way. My wife and I saw them play in Boston shortly after, and we knew halfway through their first set that we wanted these guys for our wedding. We had told them we’d be at the Boston show and they made sure to catch up with us between and after sets, even playing a few of our requests during the second set. Once we established they had our wedding date free, we worked with Riley on all logistics (intros, first dance, songs we’d like to hear, songs we did not want to hear, any announcements, etc). I have to say that Riley is beyond organized with all this. I sent him a handful of changes just a few days out from the big day and he handled them all, made helpful recommendations, and was always super responsive. My wife and I both want to see these guys play around Boston again and relive some of our wedding magic. Can’t recommend them enough, they were GREAT!

Their version of our wedding song was better than the original and perfect for our first dance!

The band has an amazing energy and an amazing range when it comes to the variety of the songs that they play. The band knew exactly how to engage with our crowd; throughout the night, guests kept coming up to us to compliment them. Working with Kyle leading up to the wedding was also a seamless experience. He was incredibly easy to communicate with and always kept us updated on next steps. Early in the process, we floated the idea of learning a “Whole Lotta Love” and “Crazy in Love” mashup to get the party started, and the crew was more than willing to learn this for us. We truly can’t say enough good things about the Mockingbirds. Book them if you can! We wish we could do it all over again!

Riley, our POC for planning, is communicative, flexible, and detail-oriented. We threw a lot of details at this band, and they nailed EVERYTHING. You'd have a hard time finding another wedding band that can do what they do. 10/10 recommend - do not hesitate to book them!!

most the entire night with a large group of others, and we have received countless compliments from our guests on how much they loved the music/band. As the groom, I admittedly did not have a heavy hand in most of the wedding planning. However, the one big thing that I was responsible for was the music. Given lack of other assignments, I was able to spend a good chunk of time researching different live music options for our wedding, which involved multiple phone calls and going to see various bands perform live. Here is why The Mockingbirds won our “Battle of the Bands,” in no particular order: Set List Customization - Many bands we spoke to offered limited customization of their set lists. They had their repertoire of songs they played at most/all weddings, and would let you pick a few additional songs of your choosing. This was not the case with The Mockingbirds. They sent us a Spotify playlist of over 200 songs that they knew, and we customized almost the entire set list. The handful of songs that they played which we did not pick fit in perfectly with the vibe of the wedding and the other songs that we did pick. They even learned 2 or 3 new songs for us that we requested, which were not originally a part of their Spotify list. Well Rounded – The Mockingbirds know songs across a wide variety of genres. For our wedding, we chose a set list that was mostly 90s/2000s pop punk (Sum 41, Green Day, Fall Out Boy, etc.) with some classic rock sprinkled in. This made our wedding reception feel almost like a rock show in many ways, which is exactly what we were looking for. All of the other bands I went to check out sounded very “wedding band-y” for lack of better term. I say this understanding that this is what some people want, and The Mockingbirds do know a bunch of those songs that you hear at most weddings, as well, if that’s what you are going for. All I am really trying to say here is that you shouldn’t feel “boxed in” at all with the Mockingbirds, no matter what genre(s) or vibe you are going for. Pricing – The Mockingbirds were the most competitively priced of all the bands I spoke to. This made me slightly nervous at first, but after reading some reviews and seeing them live, I quickly realized this was nothing to be concerned about (and obviously a HUGE plus, with how expensive weddings are). They performed as a 3-piece at our wedding, which is their standard configuration, and it worked perfectly for our wedding of ~120 guests. Don’t listen to these other bands that try to tell you that you need a 6 or 7-piece band for your wedding. I also worked directly with Kyle, the guitarist, over the phone. I’m guessing this removes some “middle man” costs as some of these other bands have separate booking people and others they need to pay. Accessibility/Live Shows – The Mockingbirds are regularly playing shows in Boston and elsewhere in New England which made it very easy to go and see them live beforehand. Some of these other bands we considered to play our wedding do limited “showcase” nights, and others didn’t even offer an option to see them live (I was surprised that some just told me to check out their YouTube videos). In summary, the Mockingbirds were amazing! Do yourself a favor and book this band for your wedding. I did the research for you!

and in our first meeting already had an in-depth list of questions to make sure everything went smoothly and to get our preferences. He was always timely in responses, flexible in accommodating our requests, and clear on what to expect. The band learned a new song for us for our first dance which we deeply appreciated, and they did an amazing job. We asked for Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, and other 2010s hits and they did such a great job of mixing in exactly that with the oldies for our older guests. We also opted to add on a pianist, and they were great. Overall, the Mockingbirds were the absolute perfect band for our central MA wedding, and kept everyone on the dance floor until midnight. Kyle was extremely communicative and quick to respond throughout the planning process and truly a pleasure to work with. As a stressed bride who feels the pressure to do everything herself, The Mockingbirds made me feel like the music was completely taken care of from the start. That piece of mind alone is worth booking them. Plus, our guests LOVED them. Amazing song list (Beastie Boys, Elton John, T Swift), great energy, and excellent guitar skills.

The ceremony went off perfectly as they kindly worked with our officiant to ensure that the mics were set up correctly and the timing was perfect for each of the important moments. The Mockingbirds coordinated all of our announcements, intros, and first dances and helped make everybody comfortable with the timing. The live dance sets are where the Mockingbirds really shine. They kept the dance floor crowded and engaged the whole night - playing a great mix of songs that got both of our youngest and oldest guests out dancing. The band is super talented and mixes in impressive solos into many of the songs. Their vocals are also great and have a huge range in styles that they can execute. They even took the time to learn a few special requests we asked for and nailed them. Thank you again Mockingbirds. Kyle was very communicative with us in the weeks leading up to the wedding. He made sure he understood our musical preferences. The band learned a song for us even though they didn't need to learn one for our bride/groom dance. It was just a Foo Fighters song we like that was not on their repitoire. He communicated with the venue. At the wedding they got there well in advance to set up. DJed some music for the cocktail and dinner hours and then most importantly, got everybody out on the dance floor for the entire 2 hours or so they played. And I mean everybody. They played a great mix of music for our multigenerational guests. They brought an additional singer to complement the main trio. Everyone commented to me how much they loved them and how much better they were than they band they had at their wedding or other wedding bands they had seen. These guys love what they do. That comes through loud and clear in their performance and the guests just ate it up. We were all so bummed out when it was time for it to end. Book them. Book them now. You won't regret it.

Ultimately, we hired the core 3 plus a female vocalist (who ROCKED) and from the gorgeous acoustic guitar at the ceremony site through the killer introduction of the wedding party and into a setlist that friends are still talking about, we are already looking forward to one day working with them again. Ultimately, if you are like us and want a group who loves to play and genuinely likes to entertain, BOOK THE MOCKINGBIRDS.

We came across these guys thanks to Wedding Wire and started digging deeper. We went to see them at a local venue and even though it was a paid gig for them, they took the time to say hello to us, make us feel seen and, without even trying, showed us how genuine they are. Despite being incredibly talented, it was the impression of being genuine, good guys that sold us on them. On the night of the wedding, our family and friends (laden with hospitality industry folk and tough critics alike) had nothing but amazing feedback for the band. They were by far and away the best vendor we hired!
