My name is Andrés Acosta. I’ve been dancing, choreographing, and teaching professionally in NYC for over 15 years. My experience includes work in Broadway shows, television, music videos, and special events.
Through the years I’ve taught couples just like YOU to dance with ease and confidence. Choreographing wedding dances has become one of the true joys of my career. The Moment is my effort to combine my passion for dance and weddings. I love weddings! And It would be my honor to be a part of yours.

itely one of the best decisions made throughout the wedding planning process :) Andres does a fantastic job of breaking down movements and piecing them together for an overall beautiful end result that is familiar to you as a couple. My husband was skeptical at first to do dance lessons as he does not come from a dance background like I do, but after the first lesson he told me, "That was actually really fun". Each lesson was a fun getaway from the wedding planning and made for a great date night. My husband and I looked forward to each and every lesson, and that was all due to Andres. He has a calming nature, is a joy to be around, and makes you feel so comfortable. He made each lesson relatable and was always open to answer any questions we had! He was flexible with our busy schedule and when it came down to the last couple of lessons before the big day, he made himself available for anything we may have needed. We felt so confident for our first dance and our guests absolutely adored it! We felt like celebrities being cheered at :) But most importantly, we had FUN! Andres took our vision and made it into the most beautiful reality!! We can't thank him enough!!! We look forward to taking the skills we learned with us on more dance floors to come!!

Andrés is an excellent teacher and is able to meet couples at their skill level. He makes dance approachable no matter your experience. Working with him was an absolute joy. He was always easygoing, encouraging, and genuinely fun to be around. Every session was thoughtfully planned, and he came prepared with a clear work-back schedule from the wedding date, which kept us confident and on track. And as part of the evening, I even got up on stage with a mic, and he coached me on some killer dance moves that really paid off.
What meant the most was that Andreas even showed up on our wedding day to give us a final practice before we stepped onto the dance floor. He brought such positive energy and helped calm our nerves, and the dance ended up being one of our favorite moments of the night. We would choose him again in a heartbeat—it was a wonderful experience.

My fiancé Jimmie and I were very comfortable with him, and he took into account what we both wanted out of the wedding dance before teaching us some moves and then tying it together with a sequence. He also crafted a plan with us but was very flexible if we wanted to add or subtract sessions from that suggested plan. We had 0 dance experience going in, but he helped us get that “wow factor” that I wanted out of the dance. Andrés took into account the pace of our song, any moves we wanted, size of the dance floor, our venue, our outfits and accessories and all the little things you don’t automatically think of when planning a dance. in how he supported me and my wife in our dance choreography. We did over 10 lessons with Andres because we wanted to do a multi-part, first dance that included a slow song followed by a more hype second song. It was about 2 and a half minutes of total choreography and it came together just so perfectly. We received endless compliments after the wedding on the dance and my wife and I were so confident and excited to perform it because Andres prepared us so well. The lessons themselves were fun, enjoyable, and the right amount of challenging - and Andres helped us really strengthen our physical connection on the dance floor as we moved together. We'll take those lessons with us the rest of our lives and will cherish how the first dance became such a memorable moment the day of our wedding. Andres tailors a lesson plan to you and your partner so you can start by becoming comfortable dancing together, learning key steps that then get brought together into your dance. He will edit your music to the perfect length, and provides easy to understand feedback that helps you practice on your own. We feel like better dancers overall after working with him.
Coming to dance lessons each week was like having an exciting date to look forward to, with a good friend who hypes you up as a couple and makes you feel your best. We learned a lot and laughed even more. Andres is truly wonderful to work with, a gem of a human being, and we're really going to miss our lessons (but maybe we'll go back to learn to salsa)!
I 1000% recommend booking with The MOMENT Wedding Dance, whether you want a full choreographed dance or just to be closer to your partner by dancing together.

He was able to give us the tools not only to complete our first dance but to continue to dance during the remainder of our wedding. He also worked with our off beat selves, my fiance (now husband) was too slow whereas I was too fast, so he worked with our song to adjust and tweak it to the perfect tempo. I would’ve packed him up in my suitcase if I could, but luckily we didn't have to, he made sure we had all the moves down to a tee and felt comfortable enough to pivot if need be. He was a great teacher—he started with the foundations of movement and slowly built us up to choreography over a few weeks. By our big day we felt so confident in our performance and really could just focus on each other. Also, our choreography was AMAZING! It’s clear that Andrés made it special to us—he was not recycling routines he gave to other people and I didn’t feel showy in the way that some other wedding dances do (IMO). It felt very organic and natural. 10000/10 would work with him again!!!

person. You can tell he picks up on the nuances of a couple and helps work with them to create a dance that is the perfect reflection of both of you. Our dance was a bachata since I am Dominican and my husband is French, so my husband was starting from zero when it came to learning how to dance latin music. Andres started us off with a strong base of merengue, salsa, and bachata which allowed my husband to be comfortable enough to not only nail our First Dance, but be able to take my mother out on the dance-floor with confidence! During a period that can be stressful for a lot of couples, our weekly classes with Andrés quickly became the thing we were looking forward to the most. He knows how to make couples connect and design a first dance that you (or your loved ones) will truly never forget. We could not be more thankful to you Andres! Gracias!
