About this vendor
The Mooring Bed and Breakfast is a traditional wedding venue located in Georgetown, ME. Boasting immaculately landscaped grounds, warm and friendly service, and delicious local food, you’re sure to fall in love with this homely venue.
The Mooring Bed and Breakfast was originally the home of Walter Reid, donor of Reid State Park. It’s now owned by his great-granddaughter Penny, who turned the building into a B&B in 2002. With its beautiful stone walls, picturesque gardens with mature hydrangea trees, and stunning ocean views, it makes the perfect setting for exchanging vows.
You can host your ceremony right beside the ocean in the venue’s pretty pergola. Afterward, enjoy your reception in a spacious tent on the sweeping lawn. The property can accommodate up to 125 guests, but it’s also perfect for intimate gatherings. Penny and her dedicated staff can prepare a delectable meal for your reception featuring the freshest local seafood, including lobsters caught by her son, Jason. You can enjoy a casual lobster bake with freshly dug steamers, clam chowder, and all the fixings, or a formal meal with your choice of dishes. This can be served as a buffet or a sit-down dinner. A bar can also be provided, along with cake and desserts. Penny will work closely with you to ensure every detail of the event is to your liking. On-site accommodation is available for guests wishing to stay overnight, with a range of comfortable and beautifully-decorated rooms. For more information, contact The Mooring Bed and Breakfast today. They’d love to get in touch with you to discuss your special day.

We had a gorgeous wedding day in mid July here at the Mooring. It was the perfect setting for a half New England, half Atlanta wedding. Everyone loved the setting, Lobster Boil, and open bar. Penny and her staff were very professional and highly experienced having done quite a few weddings over the years. Everything went so smoothly and Penny was amenable to the last minute changes I requested. Staying at the Mooring for the weekend with my best friends was also a highlight. The breakfast she makes is phenomenal and it's such a relaxing setting for a wedding weekend. If you want to bring in take out for lunch or dinner, that's fine - just make sure you bring your own plates/napkins. Only breakfast is provided. Great affordable location - hard to find in Mid-Coast Maine.
There is too much to say about this gorgeous place! We got married here and had our reception here. It's right on the ocean with stunning views! Penny was fantastic to work with. The food was so yummy!! Book your wedding here!
I couldn't have asked for more. The owner Penny Barabe promptly answered all questions and was very easy to work with. The food was amazing, my friends are still raving about it a month later. The view/setting was unmatched. And most importantly, our families got to hang out all weekend at the house as if it were our own. My two-year-old niece even said "I live here. This is my home now!" It definitely felt homey. And a special thanks to the caretaker/cook Margaret who kept me company on the early hours of my wedding morning, while no one else was up and she was making blueberry muffins!
Amazingly wonderful setting, very good food. So glad that I worked with Penny Barabe of the Mooring, and Island Caterers. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
