The Mountain Club on Loon

We had our wedding here in August 2017. It was honestly our dream wedding! I've been skiing at Loon for 20+ years and now it is an even more special place for us. The wedding coordinator, Krista, is absolutely amazing. We booked our wedding 2 years in advance and the entire way she was always professional and answered phone calls and emails in a timely fashion. She gave us everything we ever wanted in a wedding. The entire staff of The Mountain Club was amazing, from the front desk people checking in our guests to the servers at the wedding. Krista and the staff of Loon Mountain (the resort and hotel are separate) worked so well together the rehearsal day and day of of the wedding coordinating the ceremony. We used the Hancock room for our reception and it was so beautiful. All of our guests loved the venue and the mountain. If you're looking for a breathtaking mountain venue, this is your place.

We ended up selecting a different venue for our rustic NH wedding, but I wanted to take a second to recommend their services to other future brides. The Mountain Club has a lot of great amenities (everyone can stay on-site, they are very willing to work with you in customizing the options available, the whole place is gorgeous) and Krista was great to work with. She is quick to respond, and made sure that we had the best possible experience during our visit up there. While it didn't work out for us, I would highly recommend Krista and the Mountain Club on Loon.

Thank god we did not have our wedding here - we got married at the top of Loon Mountain and had our reception in the Octagon Lodge at Loon Mountain. Our guests merely stayed here for convenience. Please note that the Mountain Club on Loon and Loon Mountain Resort are two completely different entities. Loon Mountain Resort is amazing. The Mountain Club on Loon was terrible. First, they were charging our guests all different prices, many of which were way too high (we had a room block agreement with them but what was the point if they weren't sticking to what it said). Second, they were charging our guests for gondola tickets, which were included with our package at Loon, which we had to tell them 3 times before they stopped charging our guests - and they have guests from Loon Mountain all the time so the fact that they were charging our guests is so sketchy. When I confronted the manager, he yelled at me - I have never been so rudely handled in my life. Once we got there, they tried telling us that our room (the bride and groom) was not paid for and that we didn't have a room. How about instead of stressing out the couple getting married, you just take care of it and then figure it out at check out. They are a mess - completely disorganized because I had the receipt of my payment, which I showed them, and they were all confused. They should have just given us the room that we were obviously supposed to have, and worked everything out so that it would be ready for when we checked out - but instead, they caused a huge ruckus! I am seriously disappointed in this place, especially since Loon Mountain Resort was so perfect - maybe someday in the future they can buy out the Mountain Club on Loon because they clearly know how to run a successful business.

My husband and I chose The Mountain Club at Loon Mountain for our wedding and had our ceremony at the summit. We wanted to have it because we travel there often and wanted to share with our guests a place we love. I had never spoken to anyone who had their wedding there so I put it in the hands of two women, Peggy & Mary, and hoped for the best. They made sure that every detail was covered, all T's crossed and I's dotted. My expectations for what was to be the best day of my life was beyond what I imagined. If you want a beautiful place with people who know WHAT they are doing Loon Mountain is the place to go. All of our guests are still telling us it was the best and most beautiful wedding they had ever been too. Even if all my details hadn't been perfect the scenery and view would have been enough.
