canyon. This place is an absolute dream. Bill, the owner is not only such a pleasure to work with, but he is an artistic genius and is so passionate about his property. He is constantly improving upon it and beautifying it, even though it is already by far the most gorgeous property and building in Topanga. His attention to detail and dedication to the property is seen in every nook of the garden and building.  Bill was so generous and helpful throughout the planning process, which was great since we didn't have a wedding planner. He even saved the day by literally taking his belt off and giving it to my husband when he saw that he didn't have a belt on (and desperately needed one!).  We got married by the pool and had cocktail hour afterwards around the pool, and then dinner and dancing in the main hall. When we got our photos back we were so stunned by how beautiful they were. The backdrop of the Mermaid could not have been more perfect. His whole garden was blooming with native flowers (the matilija poppies and red valerian were going off!).  Everyone said it was the most beautiful wedding they'd ever been to. It was nice to not have to deal with decorating anything because the property is beautiful and perfect as is. We had a large wedding and Bill and the valet company that he recommended made it all so seamless. He has tables and chairs which can be rented which made it much easier than having to deal with another rental company.  We feel so honored to have been able to get married here, surrounded by the beautiful nature of Topanga, with all our friends and family in the heart of a quiet, private neighborhood in my hometown.

Bill was a pleasure to work with and we loved being able to stay over the night before the wedding, to have three large bedrooms in which to get ready, and to be able to have our vendors arrive as early at 10 am for our 4:30 pm wedding. The set up felt easy and unhurried and we could not have asked for a more gorgeous backdrop for our many photos.

Bill, the owner of Mountain Mermaid, was warm, kind, and unbelievably accommodating from the first day to our big day. Only praise and admiration about the venue (both the setting and service) from us and all of our guests. We visited many sites, some of which echoed elements of the Mountain Mermaid, but this venue was by far superior to anything we saw (or have seen since). Dignified, elegant, and still playful setting. So very grateful we found this venue.
