We got married here and truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the planning process through the wedding day, everything felt seamless and so thoughtfully handled.
The space itself is absolutely beautiful and photographs so well, and the team made everything feel easy, organized, and stress-free—which made a huge difference for us.
They were also open to my many ideas, and helped me decide the best ways to incorporate special moments I wanted in our day… like including our loved pets outside, or the special cocktail hour ride to the top of the mountain.
Our guests are still talking about how gorgeous everything was and how smoothly the day went. We’re so grateful we chose this venue and would highly recommend it to any couple!

If you want to extend your celebration outdoors, the patio is ideal for relaxed socializing and cocktails. I have worked at Mount Southington for 15+ years. We used to offer the Mountain Room for weddings and other functions many years ago but stopped before I came on board. We have since revitalized the room and once again are offering the space so couples can enjoy their special day with their loved ones .
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, boating, traveling, and reading. I have been married for 30+ years and have 3 beautiful children.

ife’s dream venue and we’re absolutely in love with it. Mount Southington was the absolute perfect place to have our indoor/outdoor wedding. We had our ceremony inside and my wife had her Disney princess moment and got to walk down the beautiful rustic staircase instead of coming down a true aisle to the gorgeous arbor. We took all of our pictures at the base of the mountain and it was just absolutely breathtaking. The weather was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for a better day not to mention all of the people especially, Andrea and Melissa, were such a delight to work with. All of the staff that they had on site were incredibly helpful and flexible to ensure that everything went smoothly and perfectly. Mount Southington is the perfect place to get married if you’re looking for a very affordable, rustic place with modern commodities, including a beautiful bridal suite. The people that work there go out of their way to meet your every need and are on top of everything. Mount Southington is truly wonderful in every way. All in all, my wife and I were very happy with this place and we recommend it to anyone and everyone who is looking for an affordable, rustic venue.

The coordinator, Andrea, is so easy to work with. She communicated well, made many helpful suggestions and was accommodating to our needs.
The staff was wonderful. Brittany, the bar manager, is awesome! She was able to fulfill all of our special requests, which made the open bar and champagne toast absolutely worth it. Between her and the bartender Kaitlin, we were very pleased.
Chris, along with the grounds crew were all polite, helpful and there when we needed them.
I highly recommend utilizing the chairlift, it was such a special touch to our already unique day!

big part, to the Mountain Room, that literally didn't matter, it was still one of the most best days of my life. We had an enormous thunderstorm, issues with my flowers, a strange situation with my photographer plans, an argumentative DJ, and they handled every moment with poise and professionalism so that I could focus on enjoying the day. Leading up to the event, they were extremely communicative, and answered all of my questions quickly and effectively. They were great guides for someone throwing an event on this scale for the first time, their pricing was extremely reasonable, and above all, my husband and I felt truly, actually cared about. I spoke frequently with Andrea, Brittany, and Melissa. If you have the option to hire Melissa for day-of coordination, don't even hesitate, just do it. She goes so above and beyond, keeps you on task, and takes care of a million things you don't even have on your radar. I will remember the kindness of this staff for the rest of my life. They took the rain and made rainbows. Thank you so much, Mountain Room.

to bring in all our own food, décor, and dessert. The staff ended up going above and beyond our expectations. I had SO many questions for Andrea leading up to the day and her timeliness in responding to every single one of them via email was truly impressive. Each and every one of the staff members that work here are just genuinely kind people - from the ski lift attendants to the bartenders (Brittany and McKayla) to the gentlemen setting up the space the morning of. Everyone was so accommodating and made our day that much more special.
We ended up utilizing the ski lift for our grand entrance into the reception. It was an absolute blast and our guests were raving about how unique and fun of an idea it was. We were even able to enjoy some snacks and champagne on top of the mountain that the staff had gotten ready for us earlier. Everything was beautiful and the day went off without a hitch thanks to the care and commitment of everyone at Mount Southington.

and all were fulfilled. Staff were very handy. We had to call whether the ceremony would be inside or outside during incoming inclement weather. Once I let them know if would be outside, they immediately got to work setting up ceremony chairs. Also everyone loved the drinks from the bar!

our wedding (Staff, Bartenders, etc.) were amazing! I have been to many weddings and seen the back end of many from working them also and the communication and efficiency they provided us made our wedding run smooth! The morning of our wedding it was supposed to rain so we were unsure what our plan was (inside OR out) to decorate accordingly. We waited until the last moment to decide and the staff took it upon themselves to hang the flowers that were needed, wipe down the chair lift, and get my husband and I to the top of the mountain all within a few minutes of guests arriving. Our guests were blown away with the venue and how beautiful it looked both inside and out (clean and maintained). My biggest thing was to have organization both from the venue and my other vendors on my wedding day and they all did just that! I was beyond happy with the turnout that Mount Southington provided my family that we called back a week later to book our daughters 1st birthday in the same room we got married in!!! I HIGHLY recommend this venue for any event you plan to book, especially weddings!!!

our wedding was 5/28/2022 & I can NOT tell you how amazing this venue was from planning to reception!
Andrea helped my now husband and myself from start to finish with everything...
from the beginning stages of planning, the arrangement of tables & even made sure the bar had everything we wanted and then some :) she is so incredibly knowledgeable & down to earth, super easy to work with and very quick to respond to emails.
I was beyond grateful to be able to set up the night before (thank you again) and the staff on site were incredible- very helpful, attentive and I couldn't ask for better staff at a venue.
the day of the wedding, we had planned on having the ceremony outside & use of the ski lift afterwards...but due to the rain we were unable. Regardless of the weather issue, they set up perfectly indoors for us & they allowed us all to use the lift after the bad weather had passed.
12/10, if we renew our vows at any point we will be coming back.

We had a perfect day in September where we were able to take the chairlift up, take some dreamy photos at the top, take the chairlift down INTO cocktail hour (the photos people, I'm telling you), have cocktail hour on the patio and then the reception inside with their new, expanded, custom bar! If skiing or CT is near and dear to you, we definitely recommend considering (and choosing!) The Mountain Room. It was especially good during COVID to work with a venue that was so accommodating and also allowed our guests to spread out or hang close as they were comfortable.

We could not imagine our wedding at any other venue! The Mountain Room is gorgeous and has such a great indoor and outdoor space. It was also so nice to have both an indoor and out...
door bar so guests didn't need to crowd all at one bar (and there are heaters outside which was super helpful for October!). Andrea was so easy to work with. She was extremely responsive in answering our questions before and after booking, and was so helpful with coordinating on the day-of. We also chose to host a Farewell BBQ the day after which was a great way to say goodbye to our guests and extend the party. The chairlift ride to the top of the mountain during cocktail hour for the wedding party was an unforgettable experience and led to some amazing photos. We had an amazing experience and would recommend the Mountain Room to any couple looking for a venue that is unique, beautiful, and incredibly easy to work with!

he day just that much better. Andrea was super accommodating the entire planning process and giving her assistance to make sure our day went perfectly. The pricing here is very reasonable compared to other locations, but it does not equal a lesser of a venue. We had so many guests raving about the night and how beautiful the venue was. We would 100% recommend this venue for someone looking for a more rustic but not a barn, a la cart venue, but one that does still includes a bar option.

e was responsive, communicative, helpful and kind. She helped us navigate execute a wedding through this pandemic in a way that kept our guests safe and helped us get a beautiful tent to move the event outside.
The staff the night of was incredible. They helped us set everything up, break everything down, coordinate with the DJ and caterers to seamlessly move through the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The grounds looked stunning. Anything we needed they were quick to assist. I just can’t tell you how happy we are that we chose this place. So many people told us this was the best wedding they’ve ever been to and we know a huge part of that is due to the efforts of Andrea and her staff. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you want helpful staff, a beautiful view, are a DIY type of bride and want to build your wedding day up to be exactly what you want from caterers to decor.

ely accommodating. Highly recommend opting for a server or two as they are right on the ball for all your needs and work closely with the bar staff. Got lucky with our wedding day being gorgeous so was able to utilize the indoor and outdoor areas, but the indoor area didn’t feel crowded even with 125 people.

Andrea helped us get everything in order and stayed in touch for TWO YEARS due to the pandemic. She was a delight to work with and so flexible and kind.
Jay, the general manager, was honestly the MVP when it came to the day of. He made sure we were able to set up the day before, even after we left to get some extra pieces he came back and assisted in the decorating. He let us take all the time we needed and made sure everything was perfect. Anything I worried about he made sure was taken care of.
Truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We had the best day ever!

ent above and beyond to accommodate our every wish (including allowing us to landing a helicopter there!!). Shane, Brittany and their teams were absolute rock stars. The landscaping was immaculate, the inside was clean and inviting and we had our own rooms to get ready in. Our family and friends all raved over the beautiful outdoor ceremony, the use of the patio, the indoor and outdoor bars, the fire pit, the games and everything in-between. We also loved the idea that we could customize our reception "ala carte" style. We cannot recommend them enough. Mount Southington is much more than just a ski-resort.

We found The Mountain Room to be an exceptional venue for our specific wedding requests (above-average wedding budget, food truck, 100-120 guests, background for pictures) and only...
became much more worthwhile as renovations took hold and made the location even more desirable. The venue also has several features that we decided not to incorporate into our event but you may find interesting and give your wedding a uniqueness to it. Not to be overlooked is Event Coordinator Andrea Shuster, who will work with you every step of the way to ensure your needs are met.
Don't write this venue off a "ski place", give it a chance and it might just be exactly what you're looking for.

As soon as we saw Mount Southington on the venue list here on The Knot, we were inspired: we love to ski and snowboard and it played a huge role in the early part of our relationsh...

We quickly set up a meeting to see the venue and it was absolutely perfect: a great open space, beautiful tall ceiling, an awesome view of their main slope out a wall of windows... we couldn't have designed a better location! Andrea was so wonderful to work with the entire time: she quickly answered all of my many questions and worked with us to put together a great plan for the day. She even gave us the idea that food trucks would work, and we brought in two for dessert! We had the best weather for an outdoor fall ceremony and loved riding the ski lift up to the top of the mountain for our photos. Between the mountain backdrop, a new arbor for the ceremony, appetizers (and later a firepit!) on the patio, their bar team, space on the mezzanine for our DJ/photobooth, and the flexible setup for our guests and dance floor, I don't think we could find a better venue if we tried. We are so excited for the snow to come so we can return to our venue for a day of snowboarding and probably more pictures!
