The Mt. Washington Tavern

: delicious food and a large variety of food options, great location, an indoor spot since it can still be very humid in September in Baltimore, it was budget-friendly, and they provided lots of in-house services. They delivered on all these fronts and more. First of all, the Tavern was so easy to communicate with and just generally work with throughout the planning. We worked with Mary and she was wonderful. She always had a solution for us as we planned. We also worked with Shannon the pastry chef, Holly for decoration, and Erin as our officiator. As I said, we loved how much there was that could be in house. I don't know that wedding planning is ever easy, but it definitely made it easier. And while our photographer and DJ were not in house, they were both familiar with working at the Tavern, so that was nice also.  We got married on the second floor. Our ceremony and dinner was in the Pimlico Room, and dancing and cocktail hour was on the Sky Bar. We had our rehearsal dinner in the downstairs room which was also very nice. I worked with Holly leading up to the wedding sharing inspiration pictures and she took my vision and made it gorgeous. The flowers were perfect--especially the mantel piece, walking down the aisle towards my husband standing in front of it was so special. I also appreciated that Holly and the Tavern are interested in sustainability when it comes to decor. For instance, the dark green velvet runners we used on tables and the mirrors where we had a welcome message and table assignments were all items that they already had on hand.   Erin did a great job as officiator. We met with her twice before the wedding so she could get to know us in order to write her speech. She is so warm and we couldn't be happier with having her marry us!  The food was fantastic, as we expected it would be. I will also note that the Tavern was great to work with when it came to food restrictions. Myself, my husband, and several guests have food restrictions, and they were very understanding of that. We did a buffet dinner with several entree options and so many of my guests told me how delicious their meals were. Dessert was delicious also! We did several mini options as well as a cake. The cake was beautiful and had one of the best buttercream frostings I've ever had. Multiple guests were asking where the cake was from! Mary was on hand all night to make sure everything went smoothly, and she checked in with us throughout the night. Everything went so well so we never had any situation that had to be problem solved! The whole staff was lovely and the atmosphere was perfect. We had such a fun time and are so happy we chose the Tavern.
