Your Home Away From Home is a local, family-owned collection of venues and lodgings in Pigeon Forge/Sevierville, TN, hosting weddings and events. Owners Wendell and Kathryn Tanner purchased these stunning properties in 2021 and decorated them in a homey style perfect for pampering and relaxed celebrations. Located near Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, these buildings are surrounded by breathtaking mountain backdrops and picturesque forests, creating a tranquil setting for one-of-a-kind occasions.
Your Home Away From Home invites couples to celebrate their ceremony and reception at The Vieux, their largest Tennesse property. To exchange vows, you can choose between the warm wood interiors of the house or the rustic woodland scenery surrounding their arbor and outdoor chapel. After you tie the knot, you can explore the grounds with your photographer for your portrait sessions while your guests mingle over cocktails. Later, you can reunite with loved ones for a banquet-style dinner celebration in the dining room, a bright, airy space with windows on all sides. After a magical evening of festivities, you can retire with up to 20 guests in The Vieux's comfortably furnished guest bedrooms for a night of rest and relaxation. A further 34 guests can utilize their 5 additional cabins and 3 rental units for 2 to 3 nights of tranquility.
Your Home Away From Home welcomes outside vendors, allowing you to tailor your special day to match your unique requirements. Your bar and catering team can set up in The Vieux’s fully equipped kitchen with generous countertop space and state-of-the-art appliances. This room also features a plush lounge area that the rest of your service team can use as a base. Separated from the main living area by a curtained partition, an intimate dressing room offers your beauty team ample space to set up. If you don’t have specific vendors in mind, the team will happily provide you with recommendations from their trusted network of local business providers. For couples planning destination weddings, they suggest purchasing travel insurance for your safety and comfort, making sure your special day goes off without a hitch.
Although you can choose whoever you want as Vendors, we do highly recommend Ana Ronel's in Knoxville as Caterers. Jessica & Paul have already catered at least 5 weddings on our property and have at least 3 more on the books as of March 2024. The guests rave about them as do we since we have been able to sample their delicious cooking. If you are local to the area, you can schedule a special sit down taste testing meal based on what you want to be served at your wedding (rehearsal dinner or wedding reception or both). My husband and I started buying cabins in Pigeon Forge in 2016. We have loved gutting them and fixing them up. The Vieux and the other 7 cabins on our mountain top are our latest project. Seven of the cabins had to be renovated and we had a great time doing that and renovating the gazebo and outside chapel that are both part of the Destination Wedding Venue on the top of our mountain. We'd love to have you come and see the beauty of Pigeon Forge and the unobstructed, breathtaking views of the mountains from the Venue. Your wedding photos will be ones that will be treasured for a lifetime.

This venue was an answer to prayer, the perfect place to have my smaller wedding with a rustic family gathering vibe. The Vieux doubles as an Airbnb and wedding venue, which was the ideal space for my wedding since my family was from out of town. Knowing that I was paying one price for lodging for my family and a wedding venue all in one was a major source of peace of mind. It was so wonderful not worrying about having to book two different venues for the ceremony and reception! Not to mention how beautiful both the cabin and grounds are! We were going to have our ceremony on top of the mountain with the mountain views in the background but the uncertainty of the weather influenced our decision to have it down at the cabin instead. We did take our couple portraits at the top of the mountain with the views though!
The Vieux has so many options - inside and outside - for both ceremony and reception locations (if weather doesn't look like it will cooperate!) Having those options was amazing, as well as the host's communication, responsiveness and willingness to help at every step of the process - also an answer to prayer. Kathryn was a phenomenal host and I highly recommend her and her venue! She helped us so much, kept in constant communication whenever I had questions or needed any kind of help. It all culminated in the most beautiful and special day that my husband and I could imagine. We will always look back on our wedding with the sweetest memories - all made possible by Kathryn and The Vieux. It truly did feel like our home away from home!

My husband and I are so happy to have chosen The Mustard Seed as our wedding venue. For reference we had around 65 guests. Our bridal party stayed in the main house and many of our family and guests stayed on the property as well. The owners Kathryn and Wendell were incredibly accommodating and flexible. They worked with us in so many different areas, they were available when we had questions or needed support with something and we just can't say enough great things about them. The property is clean and well taken care of and they've recently made a lot of upgrades. We loved every minute of having our friends and family here from Thursday to Sunday, it was perfect. Thank you Kathryn and Wendell!

If you are planning to have a wedding here, DO IT! We recently had a destination wedding here and it was amazing. The views were beautiful and everything went so smoothly. A dream come true. Additionally, Mary Kate and Kathryn were amazing to work with an extremely accommodating. They have additional cabins for a normal vacation stay as well and we have stayed at 2 of the smaller cabins on separate occasions. 100/10 recommend.

From the moment we first reached out to The Mustard Seed Venue, their communication was prompt, quick and thorough. The team was incredibly helpful in ensuring every detail of our wedding day was attended to, providing us with beautiful decor, high-quality seating, lighting, and even food service equipment to make our vision a reality. The venue itself was an unforgettable experience - the charming cabin, the stunning views, and the peaceful natural surroundings all came together to create the perfect setting for our special day. If you are planning on having a small wedding/elopement, do it here!! We accommodated 25 guests total and it was the perfect space for the venue and ceremony. We also had 11 people spend the night the night before and it was the perfect amount of space with several areas to relax and/or have fun! Plus you get the added feature of taking beautiful mountain top pictures right up the hill from the cabin. Not only was the cabin reasonably priced, absolutely beautiful and VERY clean, the owners of the cabin are so helpful and sweet! we will definitely be going back!

The beautiful Vieux was breathtaking! It was so cozy and was perfect to accommodate all of us. I am an outdoor person and so I was right at home. Katherine and Wendell were so helpful and I felt like I’ve known them for years. They were also helpful because we live in Buffalo NY, and they helped us so much with other planning and recommendations etc. It took so much stress off of us.
Since I love cooking and baking, it was my dream kitchen and pantry! I wish I could bring it home with me! I brought homemade cookie dough that I made at home to bake there. I also brought a frozen homemade wedding cake and frosting to finish the job over there in their absolutely cozy pantry! Baking the cookies there with my other daughter, who was the maid of honor, made it a very, very memorable family time for me. I will cherish the memories that we had there forever from the day before the wedding all the way to the day after the wedding! The weather also cooperated perfectly! The day was just so blessed! Thank you so much for these cherished memories.

There aren’t enough stars available to describe just how great this place is!!
We used this as our wedding weekend getaway AND venue all in one. We knew we wanted a very small wedding and one with a breathtaking view and The Vieux and the Tanner’s hospitality was all of that and then some. From viewing the site in advance, questions answered, and the endless opportunities that this place offered - there’s not a single thing we would change! The cabin alone offers numerous perks with games for all ages, jacuzzi, ample space for any occasion, and all the small details (every switch in the house is labeled - OCD WIN!)
I would recommend this place for any getaway or a small destination wedding time and time again!
We also used Ana Ronel’s Catering service for our wedding dinner and can honestly say that Paul & Jess were one of the greatest additions to our wedding “party” when it came to the BEST food, service, and a sweet side dish of entertainment when they joined in on the dancing while cleaning up for the night. Their food is unbeatable and at an AMAZING price! Would recommend them for any occasion!

We rented The Vieux for my daughter's wedding welcome cookout and wedding reception. It allowed us to stay on the same grounds which was so convenient. I'll start with how wonderful it was working with Kathryn as a host. She was extremely responsive anytime we had questions. The house is beautiful and the location is perfect. A cold front came through the night before the wedding and made the temps perfect for the outdoor firepit to be utilized during the cookout and the reception. We easily accommodated 60 guests comfortably with the amount of space we had. The cabin had everything we needed and it was the most perfect week for my daughter and her husband.

The venue was well kept and we enjoyed our stay. During the wedding and after our guests gushed over how beautiful and amazing the place was and we couldn’t agree more. However I do wish they put in the charges made that they will charge you an extra 200$ cleaning fee on top of the already charged cleaning fee when we paid and not after.

Y’all where do I even begin?! From the moment I booked with Kathryn I knew I made the right decision in choosing my wedding venue. The customer service was top tier. From checking in multiple times months prior to the wedding and the communication the week of the wedding I was so thankful we chose The Vieux. There was a winter storm coming the Monday before our Friday wedding. Kathryn made sure to check in that we had the appropriate vehicles and supplies to get to the cabin initially. She and her husband came out to pour salt on the driveway, make sure we were set and checked in multiple times. I am so so grateful for their communication and hospitality. Now on to the actual cabin… WOW. Pictures will not do this place justice. It is extremely accommodating for large parties, it is so cozy and there’s plenty to do when stuck inside and hiding from the cold weather. We had 16 adults stay in the cabin and it never felt like we were on top of each other. As for our big day- There are multiple areas you can utilize for your event. We chose the wooded area right outside the back door and it was gorgeous. We had 30 guests total attend the wedding and it was the perfect size for our group. There are also so many tables, desks, chairs, etc., to utilize and help your vision come to life which helped us keep our cost down on extra rentals through a vendor. Even through the stress of the winter storm, vendors having to cancel, uncertainties if our guests could make it up the driveway- it turned out perfect and more beautiful than I could ever imagine. If you’re thinking of booking for a vacation or an event… just do it! You will not regret it.

THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO GET MARRIED IN THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS!!! Hands down!! Everything from the beauty of the cabins, the breathtaking views and the intimate and incredible moments you and your loved ones will experience for your wedding weekend. You will NOT regret it!! Kathryn is so wonderful and makes herself available for your every question and gets back to you quickly! The thing I love about it most is the ability to not only rent The Vieux as the wedding venue but the amazing accommodations for everyone to sleep and get ready! The smaller cabins just a short walk from the big cabin are also available and GORGEOUS and will give any guests that want a little more privacy a great place to stay as they enjoy your wedding weekend! This is it! Look no further! It made my wedding a DREAM COME TRUE!

Kathryn was speedy and helpful with her communication while trying to plan my wedding at her cabin. This venue provided a great space to host a micro wedding and great views for wedding photos as well! The hot tub was my favorite because it overlooks the cities lights. I would highly recommend a stay here for a family vacation or a gorgeous fall wedding 👌🏻

Wow! What an incredible experience being married here on top of a mountain! The views are breathtaking! The entire experience was so easy. We had an entire weekend party in the cabin. My entire family was either dancing, playing one of their many games they have in the cabin, playing pool, eating at the large wood tables, or relaxing in the hot tub. We grilled outside on our first night and had a large catered reception (with Kathryn’s recommendation of Ana Ronel catering.) it was absolutely incredible. I planned the entire wedding with her help while I was in Charlotte, NC. Never once seeing it in person prior. I cannot express how much I recommend this wedding venue. Not to mention the cost saved by having some guests stay at the cabin. It was worth every penny and more!

We cannot thank Kathryn and Wendell enough for making our daughter and son-in-law’s destination wedding truly amazing. If anyone is looking for a venue that is beautiful, private, versatile and personal, The Vieux is the place.
From the moment we booked I’ve been in constant contact with Kathryn. She has been nothing but professional, courteous and responsive in preparing and planning this event. The property is gorgeous and was the most perfect spot.
She offered suggestions and feedback right up until the day of the event. I always heard back from her within 24 hours. That type of customer service these days is unheard of and she took care of us every step of the way.
The venue had everything we needed. Some of the highlights included the large dining area, outdoor grill, great room/space for ceremony in case of rain and a beautiful deck surrounding the home. We appreciated having two stoves (main kitchen and mini kitchen downstairs) and multiple refrigerators because we prepared our own meals. The food was not catered.
The highlight was getting to meet them in person. Their concern for our quality of service was exceptional and I’m certain we would have not had the amazing day that we did without booking this venue and having Kathryn and Wendell to assist every step of the way!

The cabins, amenities, and view are fantastic. Location is very close to the main drag but private at the same time. Our wedding party, make-up and hair artist, and photographer all loved the cabins and what they had to offer. Everything you could possibly want and more!

Our daughter and new husband were thrilled with the venue for their wedding. Kathryn was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. Throughout the entire process, Kathryn was an attentive and responsive owner. The property itself is spacious and beautiful and Kathryn was supportive of us customizing the space for the particular needs of our wedding. Additionally, the beds upstairs are incredibly comfortable, we had a 70 year old and 90 year old having the best nights sleep they’ve ever had.
One suggestion on travel to the cabin, take Pine Mountain Rd to Gibson Hollow Lane to get there. That’s the easiest way to get there.
Also, whether you’ll need the gazebo or not, take a trip up. The view from there is simply amazing!

This property is amazing! We were married in a gazebo overlooking the Smoky Mountains on top of this mountain on the property. The property has nature trails that you can walk to the wedding venue and the view was incredible. The wrap around decks made it nice for mingling and relaxing by the hot tub. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. My son’s jazz band played in the house and it was just perfect. The host Kathryn is so friendly and helped us with any questions. This property was beyond everything I could imagine for our wedding. The property has other cabins that family can stay in as well with stunning views.

My wedding day was made perfect thanks to Kathryn. She worked with me to insure everything I needed was available in order to have a stress free wedding day. I rented out 2 small cabins, 1 medium cabin, and the large cabin. My wedding was held at the top of the mountain which we could all walk to. My reception was at the large cabin. There was plenty of room for everyone and it was a blast. Very close to town but it had the feel of being isolated. Very clean. Everything was in working order and she always replied to me quickly if I needed anything. Highly recommend for any occasion. Can’t wait to go back!
