al day was fantastic and I simply cannot say enough good things about how wonderful Janice was. The food was so delicious also!! The bridal suite and grooms suite are deadinitely an added benefit. The bridal suite offers a pretty area for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready. The grooms suite is an awesome place for the guys to hang out (with several tv's) and get ready.
If you are looking for a beautiful venue that provides delicious food, bar accommodations and knowledgeable day of coordination then I would highly recommend The National.
We fell in love with The National the second we stepped into the door and working with Janice just made our decision that much easier to pick it. My husband and I were ready to cho...
ose The National just from talking with Janice at our initial meeting. The price was the cheapest from all of the other venues we were interested in and everything from the alcohol to the food was included. The National was so accommodating to making and doing whatever we wanted to make our day perfect. We got so many compliments on the food, which was absolutely delicious. The views in the background of our wedding were breathtaking. Janice was wonderful to work with, she at times a difficult to get a hold of though. But she made our wedding day the best it could be. My maid of honor's zipper split on her dress and Janice was able to sew her right in and Janice was able to take care of the problem. We had some issues with the way the place was set up at the beginning of the day as it was not set up the way we were told but we were able to work with manager to get it fixed. The National has a lodge that the girls stayed in the night before and it was amazing. It is right around the corner from the venue and made bringing things over to their easier. With all the stress that day the last thing I want to be worried about is my venue but with The National I wasn't worried at all. We cannot thank Janice and The National enough for making our day absolutely perfect.

We just had our wedding at the National and it could not have been more perfect. The grounds are spectacular. The clubhouse, veranda, and suites for getting ready were amazing and ...
made for a spectacular backdrop for photos. I can't believe how reasonable the rental rates are for that nice a setting. The chef is amazing and everyone raved about our food choices. I pulled a few menus off pinterest and discussed pricing with them and we were so excited with the combo we finally landed on. The staff was flexible and really wanted to make sure we had a good experience. They had some turnover close to our wedding that made it challenging, but they did everything to make a seamless experience for us.... and patiently answered my hundreds of planning emails in the months and days leading up to the wedding (including a ton of site visits). We had close to 160, which was tight, but doable. We were/are not members, but they always made us feel welcome being there.
I would have it there again in a heartbeat, one of our favorite wedding decisions.
I’ll start with the food- amazing! We ordered a carving station and heavy appetizers, which can be pricier than plated dinners or buffets. I wanted people to sit where they wante...
d to sit, and be able to get up and mingle. We had a great variety of food, hot foods were hot, cold foods cold, and everyone couldn’t stop raving about it, during the reception and for some time after, too. Having the ceremony and reception at the same venue was really important to me. The setup was outside for ceremony, mostly inside for reception, with dancing back outside. Some things I know from experience- We had approx. 130 guests, and IMO and talking to some girlfriends after, it was too tight. The tables were too close and hard to move between. A party of 80-ish would be much better for the space. You would need extra lighting for sure. The lights from the back porch area are not enough to provide light on the uncovered portion of the patio. Some things that should and could have been different: The communication between the events coordinator and the rest of the staff seemed to be next to none. We ended up having an all-day bridal consultant, when I was told she was there to stock our drinks while we were getting ready. She seemed to not have all the information about my day that would have made her much more useful. She came to me while I was eating during the reception twice, to ask me about the bill. That was inappropriate, and I still don’t know what she wanted that evening. We had a set amount for the bar tab, and would she have been clued in prior, she wouldn’t have had to come to me. Our cake was thrown out the morning after. We had asked for it to be boxed up, but apparently this was miscommunicated. IMO you would get the best service there if you were a “member” of the golf course. There were men on the balcony, watching our ceremony, sitting in our reception area, one came in to use OUR bar and the kicker was when an intoxicated member had his young daughter come up and dance with me during the dollar dance. Who was this? And why are my nieces waiting in line to dance with me! Who did these people think they were? Our video shows the men up top either taking pictures or videoing us, with drinks in their hands. That was wrong, and should never have happened. It’s just too bad that management would allow them to intrude. Sometimes an apology goes far, but management wouldn’t take any responsibility, and stated, “I can’t imagine any of OUR members doing that”. Enough said.
