Another plus was the well-lit merch area. No fumbling around trying to decipher band t-shirts in the dark – a definite win for post-show shopping. However, this abundance of merch table lighting did come at a cost. It spilled over onto the general floor area, detracting from the overall ambience of the concert itself. Ideally, the merch area could be well-lit without washing out the rest of the venue.
The drink selection offered a decent variety, with something for most tastes. However, for those seeking more specific options or a wider range of craft beers, the selection could feel a bit limited.
Finally, let's talk about the temperature. Unfortunately, the AC wasn't up to the task on this particular night. The venue became quite warm, which can definitely put a damper on the concert experience.
Overall, The Newberry has its pros and cons. The friendly staff, stage lighting, and well-lit merch area are definite positives. However, the overly bright floor area and limited AC could be improved. Here's hoping they can address the temperature control for future shows!
