The Nichols

We had the pleasure of having Jennifer Nichols and her husband, CJ, photographing our wedding and our engagement shoot in Yosemite. Jennifer and CJ were great in all aspects. They were very easy to work with and worked closely with our wedding coordinator to figure out when and where to take photos during the wedding. They grabbed great natural pictures of the wedding venue, our friends and family, and of us! We absolutely loved their style of photography. For our engagement shoot, they recommended that we hike to Taft point to take some epic pictures of us high on a cliff with Yosemite in the background. It was absolutely stunning. As for communication, they were very prompt with responses and always willing to answer all our questions. We highly recommend their services.

Jennifer and her husband were incredibly professional and a joy to work with throughout our wedding weekend. We appreciated their flexibility in allowing us to swap the engagement shoot included in their package for coverage of our tea ceremony instead. Their attention to detail was evident in everything they did, from arriving early and being fully prepared to having a great eye for poses and locations that resulted in stunning photos. The quality of service was top-notch—Jennifer and her husband were always a step ahead, making sure every shot was perfect. They captured every detail of our special day, both big and small, ensuring that we have beautiful memories to cherish forever. The photos are absolutely gorgeous and perfectly reflect the essence of our wedding. Their professionalism extended to their communication as well. While they primarily coordinated with our planner, everything was seamless, and they made the entire process stress-free for us. We’re beyond thrilled with how our photos turned out and couldn’t recommend them more!

Jennifer of Nichols Photography made our photography dreams come true. We (two people not terribly comfortable being in front of the camera) hired her to take our engagement photos and were so blown away by the quality of photos she produced. She made us feel so comfortable the entire time and directed us so the whole process felt seamless and easy. When we got the photos back we could not believe how crisp, bright and beautiful every photo was. There were so many amazing photos to pick from that it made our job of creating holiday cards/engagement announcements difficult! (A problem I never thought I'd have). I can't recommend Nichols Photography enough.

Our wedding planner at The Gage in Marathon recommended The Nichols, and we were SO pleased with their work. The fact that they are a couple makes it so easy to work with them, since they can be at two places at once! CJ was able to photograph the guys getting ready while Jennifer was with the girls. They are a fantastic team and documented different angles and moments together. They made wonderful suggestions for how to capture certain planned moments of the day in a natural way (for instance, the first look and family photos), and they also captured candid moments so well (for instance, hugging friends and spinning on the dance floor). Jennifer and CJ’s photos highlight the special nuances of the day, including the beauty of the wedding venue and the connections between us and our guests. We are overjoyed with the full photo album. The photos are vivid, radiant, and feel authentic to us and our day! Thank you, Jennifer and CJ!!

Working with Nichols Photography was one of the absolute highlights of my wedding. My entire family and I are so pleased with the quality of their work, and I cherish the pictures we've received. I cannot wait to frame them in my home and eventually share these photos with our children. The day of my wedding, it began to rain during the setup process. I was feeling so worried that the pictures would turn out dark/grey - and I couldn't have been more wrong! The way Nichols Photography captured my venue / decorations / details looks like it's a perfect sunny day. All of my coworkers can't believe it rained during my wedding. That's how impressive their editing skills are. I'm blown away! Overall, I would recommend Nichols Photography to any bride getting married in the NorCal/Tahoe areas. They are truly top notch, and so fun to work with.

My husband and I are coming up on our 9th wedding anniversary and I was looking back through our wedding photos. I remember when my husband and I were preparing for our wedding, the first thing I looked for was a photographer. I absolutely loved the style of a friend's pictures from her wedding, so I looked up the photographer they used to see dates that were available. My (now) husband and I actually moved our original wedding date so we could have The Nichols be our wedding photographers!! They did not disappoint. They fit right in and were not all if your face, but were able to capture all of the perfect pictures as if they were everywhere! Y’all are the best and thank you for the precious memories.

We used Nichols Photography for our wedding and day-after photo shoot in May. The wedding was at Rush Creek Lodge in Groveland CA, and the other photo shoot was in Hetch Hetchy (part of Yosemite NP). We only have great things to say about them! They obtained great photographs, and were extremely personable and great to work with. If you are looking for adventure photo shoots or elopements, they would be a great option as well. They have no problem hiking a bit for great photos. You also get two photographers (both Jennifer and CJ), which is a bonus!

The Nichols team captured the mood and key moments from our wedding in a way that no one else could! Jenn and CJ were able to move around in a way that preserved the spontaneity and candor of whatever they were shooting. They approached the whole process with sensitivity and attention to detail and gave us memories that we will treasure for a lifetime. I wouldn’t trust anyone else!!

Just unbelievable. Jennifer and CJ are the best. My wedding was a fairytale of a wedding and they managed to capture every moment, vibe, color perfectly. The Nichols were absolutely fantastic and I will forever recommend them to engaged friends. Their photos are gorgeous, clean, and timeless. Everyone we showed our album to has raved about the photos. Not only are the photos stunning, they make you so comfortable in front of the camera, seamlessly fit in with guests and bridal parties on the big day, and are very responsive and accommodating through the planning process. Having amazing photos was a priority for us on our wedding day and engagement. My number one priority for my wedding, over all else, was photography, and the Nichols have exceeded even my wildest dreams. Jennifer and CJ were professional, easy to work with, and their attention to detail is simply stunning. Not only that, but I received my entire album in under a month from the day of my wedding! The Nichols provided us the most exceptional, professional photography services for our wedding at The Gage Hotel, in Marathon, TX. Hiring a photographer was definitely the highest priority on our list of wedding vendors. My husband and I live in West Texas, near where our wedding was held, and we absolutely love the desert landscape. We knew we wanted wedding photos in the desert and we wanted our photographers to be familiar with the area and the challenge of capturing good light in the desert. Luckily, we found The Nichols, because they absolutely exceeded any expectations we had, our entire wedding photo collection is completely stunning! We had such a great experience working with Jennifer and CJ; from all of the correspondence and feedback throughout the year of wedding planning, to the calm and fun atmosphere they created on the day of the wedding. They were carefully everywhere and capturing every moment and detail. They captured so well the feeling, vibes, and style of our wedding day. We were blown away by the bride and groom desert portraits, they are a true reflection of why we love the West Texas desert and they captured the incredibly happy and serene feeling that we felt all day. I highly recommend The Nichols Photography!!! I used them for my Bridal Portraits and Wedding Day and I could not have asked for anyone more amazing. They were more expensive than some of the other photographers that I looked into, but I knew that the pictures would be something that I look back at forever and wanted to invest a good portion of my budget into them. I do not regret my decision one bit!!!! They are wonderful to work with and super laid back!!! You don't get the moody photographer that is bossing you and your guests around!!!

What can you say about The Nichols that would possibly do them justice? In a word: awesome. In my opinion, when you compare portfolios of other photogs to the work of The Nichols, nothing even comes close. Not only is their work phenomenal, they were also a dream to work with. Jennifer is incredibly prompt, professional and detailed in her response to questions, and *super* helpful in planning wedding-day timelines for pictures, offering ideas for photo shoot settings, etc. And I don't know what I would have done without them there on my wedding day making sure we got all the right shots with the right people and just generally keeping things on track and looking fabulous for the pictures. They also set up a "photo booth" for our reception, which was really fun. As for the pictures themselves, we were thrilled with both our engagement and wedding photos--seriously the best pictures I've ever been in in my entire life! I love them so much, and the process was always so fun. I can't recommend The Nichols enough.

Instead you'll see people's personalities and emotion captured which makes for beautiful memories. They've documented three major milestones in our lives--from our engagement photos and my bridal photos to our wedding day photos--and we are certain they're the ones we're calling for any upcoming milestones from pregnancy to family portraits.
