That meant I had no idea if I actually had the space reserved until just a few months before the shower, forcing me to rush the ordering and mailing of invitations. Communication throughout the planning process was extremely poor. I sent weekly emails for several weeks with questions about the menu, event details, and logistics, but rarely received a response. The only time we were able to get answers was after going there in person and speaking directly with a manager. It shouldn't take showing up in person just to get basic information for an event you're paying for. The day of the bridal shower was even more frustrating. We were in the ballroom, and apparently the decision was made the night before to shut the heat off. The room was absolutely freezing. Nearly every guest commented on how cold they were, and I spent most of my own bridal shower shivering in my dress with my teeth literally chattering. It wasn't until the last hour of the event that the room finally became comfortable. Throughout the event, the only staff members we ever saw were the waitresses. There was no manager or supervisor available anywhere. The microphone wasn't working, making speeches difficult, and there was no one around to help troubleshoot or address any of the issues. While the staff apologized repeatedly, apologies don't fix problems during an event you've spent months planning. Once the day arrives, you have no control over these issues—you simply have to hope the venue is prepared. The one thing they did exceptionally well was the cake, which was beautiful and delicious. Unfortunately, that was the only part of the day that met expectations. Your bridal shower is supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration, and instead I spent much of mine worrying about problems that should never have happened. Between the lack of communication, uncertainty leading up to the event, the freezing ballroom, and the absence of management when issues arose, I cannot recommend this venue for anyone planning an important celebration.
