About this vendor
On your wedding day, I want you to feel all of the joy that comes with this special moment and be left with photos that document those moments and emotions in an authentic and beautiful way. The essence of my business is to capture a fun and playful spirit along with the real emotions of the day. Your photos should be timeless. They should tell a story. Ultimately I am here to craft pictures that encapsulate the story of you.
I approach weddings in a relaxed, "I'm here to help" kind of way. There's already enough stress that goes along with planning a wedding, and I don't want you to have to feel that on your big day. I can help answer all questions beforehand, walk you through the details, and help you build your day-of timeline. This way, there is nothing left to worry about. We got you!
The Northern Story Photography is a Michigan and destination wedding photographer. I am based in Metro Detroit but will go where you go!

We were so lucky to have Lauren as our photographer! She was calm, organized, and happy to do anything we asked. Everyone in our wedding party kept complimenting her throughout the...
day, and she truly made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. Her talent and kindness shine through in every photo. Nate helped capture the groom and groomsmen getting ready, and they had great things to say about his work as well. We’re so grateful to Lauren for creating such beautiful memories for us!
Lauren is the most thoughtful, engaging, supportive, feel good photographer. She and her husband Nate photographed our wedding, and we have ZERO complaints, and only the highest of...
praise. When booking your photographer, be sure to book someone you enjoy spending time with as they are who you spend the most time with during your day. Lauren and Nate are SUCH lovely people, they made me feel so beautiful all day long, all while capturing the special moments, staging some and helping us tell our story. They are both beautiful humans, and I highly recommend booking them for your wedding! Having a husband/wife photographer duo does not get any better on your wedding day. Lauren also got us our preview photos within a day of our wedding, and I can’t tell you how amazing that was to be on our honeymoon, checking out some of the beautiful photos captured. Do yourself a favor, and invest in Lauren & Nate, you will not be disappointed!!!
We had Lauren shoot our engagement photos on the summer and had the best experience! She made us feel so comfortable and at ease when we were booking our wedding there was no quest...
