However, it was left without a bell for many years until the producers of "True Grit," a 1969 Western starring John Wayne, installed a bell for the film. The Old Firehouse continued serving as a community space and later became the studio of renowned artists Michael McCullough and Lucy Boody. Since then, this seeped-in-history building has become the perfect wedding and event venue with an integrated restaurant.
