Event Team Is Unbearable! Impossible To Have Wedding At This Locations. Lots Of Better Options..
We recently got married at the Burden and Kahn mansions and we cannot sing their praises high enough! We hosted 150 guests. Our wedding ceremony was in the Theater of the Kahn Mansion, followed by a cocktail hour in its Courtyard. Our reception was split between the various rooms of the Burden Mansion. We sat our guests in both the Banquet Hall and the Ballroom, and setup the band and dance floor in the Ballroom as well. We setup our bar and a couple of high top cocktail tables in the Music Room, which was a perfect area for people to enter through and mingle in. The entirety of both Mansions is beautiful and stunning. Our photographs from throughout the evening look amazing. The venue coordinator, Dana, and her staff were great to work with from start to finish. We fell in love with the mansions on our initial visit, and were able to go back for several walk thoughts with our family and vendors as our planning progressed. Dana really knows what works best in the spaces, and was a great resource to us throughout our planning and during the execution of our day. Our only regret is that we cannot get married there again!
Beautiful venue. A historically protected architectural treasure. No need to travel anywhere as it is conveniently located on the Upper East side of Manhattan. Our wedding was the Burden mansion which was perfect for an intimate wedding of less than 60 people. I believe the Kahn mansion next door may be bigger. Also great setting for pictures. Dana was super helpful. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
The day of my wedding was absolutely incredible at the Burden Mansion! Frank who assisted me as my ceremony coordinator was fantastic, and the venue speaks for itself in terms of beauty. Dana, who helped me with the process from start to finish was also wonderful and accommodating. My only criticism would be the response time with emails, but this seems to be typical of multiple wedding vendors, and there was one or two last minute details that were waited until the week before my wedding to be sorted out. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience and a jaw dropping gorgeous space.
If I could zero star this place, I would.
Although, I'm sure the venue is gorgeous, I wouldn't know that since I tried three times to schedule an appointment to view it to no avail.
I sent the first email stating I was looking for a place in New York to hold a charity fundraiser. No response. I sent a follow-up email asking to see the space again and explaining I never heard anything back. Somebody named Dana promptly responded to that email saying they never heard from me. I'm not sure I believe that. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried once more to set up a time to visit. Nothing. No further response.
The lack of communication is unbelievably irritating and blatantly disrespectful and now I have to waste my time writing this review. I wish this facility would get their act together on the communication end and now I know I will never consider them for another event ever again.
1st review! wow!
After the wedding, every guest is telling me how pretty and elegant my venue is and how much they enjoyed the day. Yes, vintage and elegant - that's my 1st impression of this venue as well. It's not like some 'vintage' venues I saw - the chandeliers are huge and sparking, there are paintings all over the place... this is true elegant and vintage, nothing stands out 'man made elegant', you will see how beautiful it is when you see in person :)
Also, Dana is great to work with. She explained every details patiently and answer all my questions and concerns. Made my day amazing!
I would recommend this venue to whoever is looking for an elegant and memorized wedding!
