The Paper Elephant

I'm going to try my hardest to keep this short and to the point, but could go on all day about how HIGHLY I recommend Paper Elephant. When we got engaged, we agreed that photography was one of the highest priorities for our wedding day and really wanted to find someone that not only takes amazing images, but also tells our love story through those images, and connects with us on a personal level. When we met Tegan of Paper Elephant, it instantly became apparent that she would check all of those boxes (and many more)! I love the way Tegan captures such raw/authentic moments and saw that come to life right away with our engagement session. I think the reason for this is a very unique combo of her natural, creative talent and her dedication to get to know her couples via genuine conversations and fun questionnaires. Also, she was able to provide lots of great recommendations and ideas that helped throughout the entire wedding planning process. On the day of the wedding, Tegan and Jeremiah completely hit it out of the park and were so professional, fun, patient, kind and full of ideas! Tegan navigated our large wedding party and families with ease and made a point to coordinate all of the photos we wanted, which she mapped out and sent to us to look over weeks before the wedding day. Her ability to work so efficiently, while capturing beautiful images, ensured we still had tons of time to be totally immersed in all the day's special moments. Lastly, I just want to note a couple overall themes that we noticed when working with Tegan over the course of two years. :) 1. She adapted so quickly to changes throughout the entire process - from providing continuous support as we postponed our wedding due to COVID-19, to capturing one-of-a-kind photos after a dense fog rolled in during our engagement session, to navigating changes that came up on the wedding day with complete ease. 2. She is a really, really good, kind, honest, down-to-earth person. She made us feel like we were her only clients throughout the whole process, constantly giving us her undivided attention. Then on the wedding day, we saw Tegan and Jeremiah have this effect on everyone in at our wedding, which was just incredible. Their presence puts everyone at ease and makes them feel comfortable in front of a camera. 3. She delivers 110%, all the time. One example of this is that within one day of our wedding, Tegan provided a sneak peek that included 100 photos and each one was stunning in it's own unique way - her and Jeremiah went so far above and beyond what we ever would have expected or hoped for - capturing the details of every moment AND the emotions behind them. Sorry I didn't keep this as short as I planned - but I really cannot stress enough how much Paper Elephant is worth every penny you'll spend and will be the best decision you make on wedding day. I truly cannot recommend enough!!!

Tegan and Jeremiah did an amazing job capturing our day! Tegan was so helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process. She helped create my timeline for the day, referred me to other vendors, and answered my millions of questions promptly. Always professional and organized, I never had to worry about this aspect of my wedding! She made me and my husband feel comfortable while taking photos and we had a blast. Even after our wedding was over, Tegan was still reaching out to us regarding our photos and even sent the most adorable gift. Tegan knows how to take care of her clients! Tegan and Jeremiah captured our day entirely! Tegan was amazing to work with from the pre-wedding planning to the day of festivities to the post-wedding collection keepsakes. Tegan and Jeremiah were absolutely the best! I cannot give a higher recommendation. It was easy to communicate, either by email or phone calls. They give a great package, with included engagement and boudoir sessions. They were professional and I had multiple comments from friends and family at the wedding how they kept things moving without being bossy or intrusive at all. My bridal party commented multiple times that they were the best photographers they had ever worked with and my husband and I agree! That's not even mentioning the absolutely AMAZING photos they shoot. They are prompt with getting pictures back and helpful with any questions and concerns we had along the way. Hire the Paper Elephant and you won't regret it!

To all brides out there, who your photographer is on one of the most special days of your life should NOT be overlooked or taken lightly! That being said, The Paper Elephant (Tegan) could not have been more perfect. My now husband and I were alittle camera shy and awkward for our engagement pictures, and she was there every step to encourage us and to feel natural. Our wedding day went even better. She directed us and our wedding party perfectly and knew exactly where to get the best light/shots. It was such a relief and a weight off our shoulders to know that she was taking care of everything and that the quality would be amazing. We just got our preview pictures back and can't wait to see the rest!!

Tegan was the absolute best photographer for our wedding, we couldn't recommend her enough! Not only is she the sweetest person, but the quality of her work is second to none. We started our experience with Tegan with a consultation where we got to meet her and see her portfolio. Her packages were all very reasonable, and the value we received was extraordinary. She is super professional and yet personable, and we knew right away that that she was going to be our perfect fit. We then met with her again about six months later for our engagement shoot. She showed up right on time and spent the whole shoot helping us feel comfortable - it was great practice for my groom who isn't used to being in front of the camera. Even though we ended up picking the hottest evening of the year, and poor Tegan was pregnant at the time, we ended up with stunning pictures that perfectly capture "us". Shortly before the wedding, I met with Tegan again to discuss the details of our big day. She really helped me get the timeline of the day's events just right. It was great leaning on her expertise to make sure the day was set up to run smoothly. When it came to our big day, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Tegan and her husband showed up early and captured every moment of our day - beautifully! The best surprise was that she posted an album of images THE NEXT DAY so we could relive all the magic from the night before! My husband and I spent hours going through them again and again, it was amazing. Our digital album with all of the images arrived a couple weeks later and every single image could be printed out - they all look fantastic. Between the professionalism, quality, and attention to detail that Tegan provides, I can guarantee that you will be not be disappointed with booking The Paper Elephant for your wedding. I am recommending her to all of my girlfriends and family members who are getting engaged!

The Paper Elephant has far exceeded our expectations. Our experience started with our engagement session. Tegan was very flexible and beyond patient. We brought our two dogs and our session started out with one dog peeing on the others head! Tegan never rushed us, made us laugh, and took extra time with us and our dogs. Our pictures were everything we wanted and more. By the time our wedding came around, it was like Tegan was an old friend. Our wedding day went by so fast and I was so worried we didn't capture everything. Well, what my husband and I missed, Tegan captured on film. True to her word, we had our pictures back exactly when she said they would be done. (actually one day early) They were finished so fast. I can not believe how great these pictures are. We feel in The Paper Elephants debt for these magic moments she captured. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!!!

We were THRILLED with Tegan, Jeremiah, and, of course, the beautiful photos!! Tegan was amazing to work with. She willingly came to Chicago to take our engagement photos on a blistery cold day and still made us look stunning and captured our pup perfectly (who was much happier with the icy cold weather than we all were). She never made us feel rushed during the engagement session whereas some photographers stick to strict timelines. Luckily, we had warmer weather for our Milwaukee wedding and could not have been happier with her work and both her and Jeremiah’s demeanor on our big day when we had some travel hiccups. We surprised our guests with LED hula hoops and the long exposure photos turned out fantastic! HIGHLY recommend Tegan. Thank you for making our wedding experience so enjoyable :)

Tegan is absolutely amazing from start to finish. First, we had contacted her initially when we only had a day left in the Milwaukee area (both of us were out-of-state) and she didn't hesitate to email us back and set-up a quick meeting! We had multiple meetings with her throughout our engagement, and she was always able to work within our schedule since we only had limited time when we were in WI. She's organized, professional, fun and laid back and her photography is gorgeous! From our engagement pictures to our wedding day pictures, they were flawless. Of all the vendors that we worked with throughout the wedding planning process, she is the one person that performed perfectly. We are so glad we chose Tegan (and her husband/assistant, Jeremiah!) and will always be able to remember the best day of our lives through her photography. We wouldn't hesitate to book her again for other big-life moments!

Tegan was so great, and I recommend her to everyone! Our engagement shoot was perfect, and so was the wedding! She was so helpful before the fact (had us make a list of all the groups etc.), and she was so amazing the day of the wedding. Despite us changing the order of everything the day of, she was easy going and kept us on time and in order. Even super pregnant (in a very adorable way) she didn't complain at all about the extensive heat or the bugs. She totally understood our vision, and the photos really reflect that. She helped take our giant family photos without wasting any of the precious reception time. She was always quick to respond to emails, and she was super helpful. A perfect example of just how great she was: she posted almost 50 STUNNING photos from our wedding THE VERY SAME NIGHT! Her husband Jeremiah was her assistant photographer for the night, and the groomsmen really appreciated him. All in all -- it was perfect.

Tegan was nothing short of amazing. She did both out engagement and wedding photos and my husband I were so pleased with them! Our golden retriever puppy was a part of our engagement photos and Tegan did a great job working with her and capturing some really great moments. For our wedding she was able to get a slide show up at our reception to show some pictures that we had taken earlier. Everyone raved about the pictures and I have so many favorites!

Choosing a photographer honestly wasn’t something about wedding planning that we anticipated being difficult… then we started looking at the abundance of talented photographers available in the Madison area, the varying levels of packages and the prices, and I must say, we were quickly overwhelmed. To us, photos were very important not only to capture the smiles & moments, but the true emotions. And now as we reminisce about the most amazing day of our lives through our photographer, we couldn't say more about our experience with The Paper Elephant. When we first reached out to Tegan, we spoke via Skype, and even though we weren’t in person, we instantly felt a great connection with her. She didn’t pressure us, answered all of our questions, and was very knowledgeable and personable. One thing we really liked was her interest in getting to know our story- we completed a questionnaire before the engagement shoot and Tegan dreamed up some creative ideas for how to capture this time in our lives that would represent our unique relationship. She was able to give us multiple options to schedule the session, and traveled to meet us in Madison. Day of the engagement session, we honestly went into the situation with the thought, "let's just have fun and hope that a few turn out". It was BITTER cold, but Tegan made us laugh, took her time with us, and even encouraged us to bring along our dog Oliver for a few shots. As we started looking through the preview photos (which she quickly provided- also very thankful for this), we quickly realized that our hope for "a few" was completely blown out of the water! At that moment, we knew we made the right choice. We were so thankful for Tegan’s eye and excited to have her along for the ride! Through our entire experience, Tegan & Jeremiah made us feel easy & comfortable right from the get go. Tegan exceeded our expectations time & time again even while working through extreme weather (both freezing cold during engagement photos, and steaming hot throughout our wedding). She jumped right into family photos knowing everyone’s names from our (large & blended) families. She kept us on schedule during the wedding day, and checked in to make sure we took a few moments just for us throughout it all. She answered every email with thought and attention. And most of all, she truly captured "us". Our unforgettable day flew by (as we were told time & time again, wedding days usually do), and inevitably so did the fleeting moments, but with our photos we have the ability to relive them. Those butterflies in our stomach, the joyful tears falling (our pouring) down our faces, laughing so hard that it almost hurts, and who could forget, the speechless special moments where all we could do was grin from ear to ear thinking "holy @%#*, how did we get so lucky!?", even the outtakes & bloopers. She captured it ALL. Tegan, thank you. For your friendship, your professionalism, and your commitment to providing us a gift we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We are eternally grateful.

I really can’t say enough about how great it is to work with The Paper Elephant. Photography was a big concern of mine, but when I met Tegan I knew I had nothing to worry about. Here are my top ten reasons why you should hire The Paper Elephant. 1) Tegan cares about you. She wants to know who you are as a couple and takes time to learn your style and vision for your wedding and what is most important to you. 2) She is extremely helpful. I wish I had taken more advantage of this but she will really help you work out a schedule, figure out picture locations, and answer any other wedding questions you might have. 3) Is very professional and makes sure to grab all of the little moments. She and her husband Jeremiah (her assistant for the day) work so well together that the entirety of our wedding day has been perfectly captured. 4) She is easy to work with. Tegan is very responsive to emails and very flexible depending on how the day is going and if any changes are needed last minute. 5) You will get you the photos quickly. She even put up a small slideshow at our reception with photos taken that day! Then you get a small sneak the next day and all of your photos just a few weeks later. 6) All of the little extras she does for you. She goes the extra mile to make sure you are well taken care of. I knew when we got the welcome package and little chocolate elephants that she makes sure her clients are happy. 7) How organized she is and willing to work with everyone the day of. She took the time to learn everyone in our wedding, and had everything planned ahead to make sure picture time ran smoothly. 8). The Paper Elephant is an incredible value. For the quality of photos, the best photographer(s), engagement and wedding photos, and the whole package that comes with it, the value is unbeatable. 9) The photos. Beautiful. Stunning. Perfect. My family was already raving after seeing the engagement pictures. After seeing those I knew I had nothing to worry about. The wedding photos turned out better than I could have imagined. She captures everything with style and grace. 10) Tegan is such a blast to hang out with and can easily put everyone at ease. Tegan at The Paper Elephant is absolutely an amazing vendor and partner to work with! From the very first email we sent her, she didn't treat us like just another number or paycheck, but rather like we had been friends forever. She is calm and soft spoken and full of amazing ideas and recommendations. The candid way she gets shots is unbelievable and the work she produces is breathtaking. She is caring and always sends reminders throughout the wedding process and has amazing ideas for all things wedding related. When she and her husband arrived on our wedding day, they were very professional in everything they did without being stiff. They were equipped with shot lists, Pinterest pictures I had pinned, and my must have shots! She is prompt with everything she delivers which is appreciated beyond belief. We have friends who have gotten married and had not seen their pictures six months after they said I do. Not only did we get our pictures back two weeks after our wedding but we got a sneak peak the next morning so we could see a few shots before we headed off to our honeymoon. Hands down, this was worth the investment and we cannot wait to use Tegan again!!! Photography was one of our top must haves on our wedding list and she did not disappoint! We have recommended her to many people and are so grateful that we now have someone to use for all our future photography needs!

Tegan is the best. Seriously. She was our photographer for our engagement photos, boudoir photos, and the wedding and she was fantastic at all of them. I thought I was going to be super awkward during the boudoir shoot and probably told her 90000 times how nervous I was, but she made me feel so comfortable after the first couple minutes that I felt silly for ever feeling a awkward. I think that speaks volumes of her personality. Super easy-going and easy to work with. Any time I had a question, she would respond to my email very quickly and help out with anything that I needed. She brought her husband Jeremiah to the engagement shoot and wedding and he was great to work with too. They make a great team and you should definitely hire The Paper Elephant for any and all of your photography needs!! The wedding day went so smoothly thanks to their help and our pictures came out absolutely amazing. I relive the wedding day every time I look at them and they were able to capture all of the important moments and small details. Highly recommend Tegan to anyone and everyone!!!

I wish I could give them 10 stars!! Our engagement photos were awesome and such a wonderful way for us to get comfortable in front of the camera and get to know Tegan. My wedding photos are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! Tegan came to my rescue and gave me the most wonderful wedding photos! Everyone I have shared my photos with compliment them and she really captured the joy of the day. I have memories that will last a lifetime in those pictures. It's amazing how I can look at the them and genuinely smile and remember how I was feeling in that moment. Tegan was also able to wrangle my very excitable wedding party and family, which is a task within itself. She got every picture I could have wanted and more. I found Tegan by pure luck, as I planned my WI wedding from CA.When I first chatted with her for a consultation I knew I'd found someone that I just clicked with and couldn't wait to being working with her. She met me and my husband in NY for our engagement shoot and the pictures were just phenomenal. She and Jeremiah put your at ease and makes a slightly awkward thing to do, comfortable and fun. To say that we were excited to see what she'd do with our wedding is an understatement and we were not disappointed. Everyone that sees our pictures is just in awe at her talent. She caught the big obvious moments as well as the small, candid details that I never would have thought of. I really feel that she got "us," not just pictures of us (if that makes any sense). I feel like I got way more than I paid for working with her. Also, on a more personal level, she's just the sweetest person. Very personable and funny. Tegan is amazing! She did such a great job with our engagement photos in Madison, Wi. We were really worried about looking awkward but she made us feel really comfortable and we had a great time! Where to begin? WOW! Tegan is amazing! The first time I saw my wedding images I was in tears. I was able to relive every moment of my wedding day. I don't know how she was able to photograph all of those unexpected moments of laughter and tears. Her assistant also did a great job and provided so many additional angles and photos from the day. I highly recommend Tegan/The Paper Elephant!

I can't say enough good things about The Paper Elephant. We love the photos and have received compliments from everyone on them. Tegan is amazing to work with from planning the wedding to engagement photos to our wedding day and afterwards. My husband and I both have large families and Tegan did a great job keeping everyone organized and making sure we didn't miss anyone in our group photos. She even laid on the ground and climbed rocks to get unique angles for our photos. Tegan is so thoughtful and sent us a few surprise gifts in the mail before the wedding and a lovely anniversary present. She went above and beyond our expectations!!
