The Papery

We chose The Papery to provide the stationary for our wedding. The staff at The Papery were absolutely fantastic: they spent lots of time working with us to achieve the exact look we were going for, including making lots of tweaks to the final design to get specific wording and coloring correct. We ended up with gorgeous stationary that looked utterly unique and that was perfect for us. We couldn't have done it without the team at The Papery, and if we were doing it all over again we'd choose The Papery without a second thought. Highly recommended.

Evelyn did a beautiful job with our invitations and escort cards. She sat down with us over the course of several appointments to plan every detail. She really listened to our description of our personal style and made the invitations and escort cards match the venue, theme, and the rest of the decor. We would highly recommend working with Evelyn.

Can’t say enough about how great Evelyn is to work with! We went to The Papery with a few ideas in mind and Evelyn helped us put our vision together, all while staying within a realistic budget. She was very patient as we changed our minds several times and offered many creative suggestions. She was a big help when it came time to place the order through the vendor and if an order comes in damaged or not to the standard she believes it should be she will advocate for her customers until it is corrected. Always timely in her calls and email responses as well. She made what started as an overwhelming stressful experience a lot of fun!

How do they have even "4" stars? First, this place is convenient to my home and I've gotten numerous stationary sets here. Always lovely when I visited.... Anyway, I knew no other place I'd want to go for my invites due to my past purchases there. Their wedding invitation "design" process literally is you and a retail worker pulling out 20lb books of cards that you mostly cannot change to suit your needs. My retail worker, or "designer" as I thought, changed THREE times! Before my last helper quit, she had the decency to call me, albiet two weeks later, that they could not change the colors of the card I chose. A complete waste of time and lack of communication. I will NEVER return and warn future brides not to bother. Thankfully, I found a graphic-designer-run invitation studio near by that fit me in to make the invites of my dreams at a CHEAPER cost. This place only works for people that are in a rush or do not care about their invites. You've been warned!!!

I went to the Papery in Sea Girt, NJ. I have been a long time customer of the Papery, but service has gone down severely!!! There is no one at the store that works full time that has a design eye - which is very important when you tout that you do custom invites! The process at every step of the way was painful. It started with our engagement invites after about 2 rounds and working with multiple people we finally got something that was okay. I went elsewhere for my save the dates. For the wedding invite we went backing knowing we needed a professional. I picked the invite out of a book right away and didn't really want to change a lot. What I got back in a proof was a disaster. All of the font was the same and the same size. There was nothing styled about it. We ended up working with a new girl Leah (who was a saving grace at the shop) but she only worked part time. After many many revisions we finally got the invite complete. When I tried to go back for a program things went from bad to worse. They told me they could design it in house, so I wrote up a word doc. What they "designed" and gave back to me was worse than the word doc and had mistakes!!! When I went back with things to keep and things to change they only changed the things I said to keep. At one point I had to laugh and say is this a joke?! Then I was told well the designer doesn't have time to do this so I had to use an invite vendor and design the program myself. In the end it worked out but it was stressful at a time when I was already stretched thin. It's a real shame the store has gotten so bad. It used to be our go to invite vendor and now I'll never go back!

I had no idea what I wanted as far as invitations go and was looking constantly online. It was so nice to be able to go into the Papery and see tons of books full of invitations to chose from in person. They have an invitation to suit every want. They were quick with providing me a proof and the invitations. All the invitations came so nicely packaged and ready to go. Wonderful experience!

I used The Papery in Shrewsbury for my Save the Date's, wedding invitations, and table place cards and the quality of all the pieces was absolutely wonderful. I also loved working with Tina, who was just great.

I visited the Summit, NJ location and was extremely disappointed with the customer service. When I first entered the store, The TWO saleswomen didn't greet me at all even though one of them made eye contact with me when I walked in. I made the first attempt to ask for help. I asked if they sold wedding invitations, she answer me yes and took me into a side room. I asked if they sold letterpress invitations, she answered yes and showed me the books. I asked which books and she flatly said all of them....and walked away. There were over 20 books to look at!! When I asked what books had the letterpress in, her answer was.."well that is very expensive...why don't you look for invitations in this book..." I was appalled by her comment and I left the store... Bottom line is that I have NEVER been treated like this before and my experience was unacceptable. If this is the way they welcome their customers, then I will spend my money on Letterpress invitations somewhere else. I wish I could give them a true negative rating....BRIDES BEWARE...patronize a vendor who is aware of the cost of your desired invitations but is polished enough to show you what you are looking for regardless of the expense.

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the Papery in Summit. Our wedding invitations were a really important detail for me and Tracy and Krista were so helpful throughout the whole process. Not only did I order beautiful William Arthur invitations through them, I also had envelopes and place cards printed by them. They took extra care to pick the right font and match the color from the invitations. They also printed everything extremely quickly and took care of any mistakes (mostly made by me!). I would highly recommend them for invitations of any kind and for their printing services!

Papery at Shrewsbury was the first place I went to for invitations. I called 4 days ahead to make an appointment. When I got there no one was expecting me. A girl from the counter started helping me showing binders and samples. She said that that they were very flexible and if I found something I really liked from designer collections, some of which were out of my budget, their in-store designer could easily make duplicates for lower price. While I was looking through binders another very snooty lady jumped in claiming that it wasn't true, they wouldn't do that and that I just have to choose from "cheap" designs to stay in my budget. Then the first girl told me not to listen to her and that their designer who wasn't available at that time will contact me in a couple of days to discuss my options. I left the place very confused and frankly disappointed. It's been 2 months ago and no one still has contacted me, meanwhile my gorgeous invitations I ordered through weddindpaperdivas.com are ready for a half of my budget.

100% satisfied and would recommend. The staff wasn't pushy at all but were very helpful when we had any questions. They have a huge selection of binders filled with invitations that you can browse through at leisure. My invitations were ordered and delivered in-store promptly and in their entirety. After I reviewed the proofs, staff double-checked all of the details and called to confirm. The invitations were absolutely beautiful. Having them delivered to my home would have been nice, but having to return to the store to pick them up was only a minor inconvenience.

Thank you so much to the staff at The Papery - especially Kerry, for their amazing service and great products. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which stationary to purchase, and Kerry sat with me for over an hour trying to give me as many options as possible. I had a tight budget, and The Papery made sure that I got the best value. My invitations were very simple, but elegant. I am very appreciative of the time that Kerry took with me, the thank you note I received, the follow-up phone calls, and the overall great service and value that I received. Thank you!

I have very particular tastes and had a very particular vision of what my wedding invitations would look like. However, no matter how many catalogues I looked through at numerous shops, or how many websites I searched, I could not find anything similar. I took a chance and went to The Papery in Shrewsbury, NJ and the graphic designer, Tina, spent time to listen to my ideas and custom made my invitations exactly how I had envisioned them! She was awesome! I would highly recommend that you take a look at The Papery for your wedding invitations. My Thank You cards were customized as well and look great! I can use them for any occasion! I was even able to have my table cards printed out one week before my wedding. Talk about convenience! What a great experience!

The ladies at the Papery were always helpful and courteous when working with them. They are a little pricey, but not necessarily compared to other places, and we got exactly what we wanted. Overall they were great to work with!

I recently received my invitations from The Papery in Sea Girt and could not have been happier with the whole experience! Amy, the salesperson, was extremely helpful, sweet and very easy to work with. The ordering and proofing process went smoothly - we had a couple of changes and they took care of them quickly. We had them address our invitations as well - I was concerned about the original font they choose, and they patiently worked with me to find something else that I was happy with. The turnaround time on everything was great, and the invitations look beautiful! I just sent them out and have received so many compliments already. I would highly recommend this store!

i dont know what these people are talking about this place was horrific, after my proof for the invitations came back i made a change, when i got the invitations they had morphed the two together! after weeks of waiting for the corrected invitations they wrote the wrong year on the response cards but it was too late at that time to send them back so my invites went out wrong. to appease me they told me they would order my menus, a month ago i put it in the order and called three days ago to check up on them. they told me they were still waiting for the proof and after calling every day since then they are ingnoring me and not calling me back. they obviously forgot to put in the order and are now avoiding me. DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE HORRIBLE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FRANKLY A BUNCH OF MORONS WORKING THERE!

Betsy at the Shrewsbury store is so knowledgeable and so helpful, she was able to find exactly what I was looking for in less than a half hour. She knew exactly how to word the invitation and just made the process stress free, which is what every bride needs!

We ordered our invitations, menu cards, and ceremony programs from The Papery in Summit. They were great and never rushed us while we were making our selections. We were very pleased with with way our invitations turned out!

Very Helpful and Professional

Enjoyed working with them however when i went to stuff my wedding invitations i realized there were TWO spelling mistakes on my wedding invitations! When you are paying that much you expect the store to ALSO proofread the final product.

There were a lot of invitations to choose from. They invitations came out beautifully!

Worked with the papery for our invitations. They helped us with wording, colors and dealing with the company who actually printed our invites. There was a bit of a mess up with the fading and the Papery not only made the company rush a new order but they also stuffed our envelopes complimentary for the delay. Customer service was great.
